Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

I have one of them soft cases too, but have have a little hard case kept with it for games and cards. I'd probably wait for the bigger card in future too.

Shame about Moto GP, thought that'd be good. Was thinking of the RC Motorstorm game. Looks great, and I have the PSP Arctic one downloaded which is an immense, immense game.

Motorstorm on the other hand is pure awesome. It cost me like £3 two weeks ago in the Summer sale and it's easily amongst the best games I've played on the system. I also got the Arctic one on sale and like it but again, I don't have enough space to fit it now.

Downloaded it, absolutely fantastic fun. Really does feel like a modern upgrade to Micro Machines.

Got Killzone downloading now, 3399MB, she's no small one, to be sure.

There's a 1.1 GB patch you need to install on top of it too.

Forgot to mention that, 'effing huge.
Worth the wait though, game is magic. Finally a good use for the rear touchpad, zooming the sniper rifles.

Picked up Assassins Creed too, got it new for 20€ from a shop going out of business, only Vita game left, sadly.

I've had it since release day and haven't even finished it yet, I've been busy with other stuff all the time. It's good though, full console experience (don't get those 7s it got).

I'll go back to Killzone first, but I had to check it out, as you say, full console experience.

I dunno why people keep saying the Vita has no games, I almost have too many to cut through!

Sarni, you're still not verified on my friend list, did you give me the right #?
I haven't touched my 3DS for a while (I don't really use it much when I'm in Kraków), I will look into it tomorrow and get back to you.

Thinking of getting my son Mario Kart on the 3DS for his birthday, is it any good?

As Earthquake said it's standard Mario Kart, however it's still a good game and if your son is a Mario Kart fan or has never played it before it's probably a good bet.

I've gone back to playing Yoshi's Islands DS a bit the last couple of days and I'd forgotten that it's actually good. For some reason even though I enjoyed it a lot at the time, I'd recently been thinking that it was nothing special. Definitely recommended if anyone wants to try it before the new one comes out. Or if you haven't played the original, what's wrong with you, and play that.

Only thing that's bothering me really is that half of the fun of Mario Kart is the multi-player, but with a handheld that's gone.

Yeah, it's so much more fun in multi-player, but as long as you know other people with the game or a 3DS (you can temporarily download the game into another 3DS and race in mutli-player) then you're set! Although, there is online play, but playing against randoms is never as good as playing against your friends.

There is something different about all being on one screen with a control pad instead of separate handeld consoles, but really, it's all the same.

I'm not buying it this year either, I bought 13 in April after it went on a huge sale online but won't switch to 14 under any circumstances whatsoever - I'm happy enough with 13 stuck on my memory card.

The XBone and PS4 are not going to get full versions are they?
Don't know for sure, but I thought I saw somewhere that those versions would be better than the PS3/360 ones.
I had heard it was happening with the Vita, highly disappointing. I'd almost not care if they put in 13's manager mode. The current one is awfully slow to run and make changes on, no fun at all.
Very glad I have zero interest in the series otherwise I'd be disappointed too.

Least they're being honest about it, I suppose.

Wouldn't be so bad if they made the updates available as a patch for a small price. I suppose you can download the roster updates for 13 anyway, or do they stop that service when the new game releases?

You'd think with EA's shitness on the handhelds Konami would take advantage on the situation and provide something.

EDIT: Oh, PES 2014 is on the 3DS, but not the Vita.

They still do it a lot with games based on anime as well in Japan. The PSP seems to get them all released for it, but they don't even bother making a version for the Vita. It's kind of sad in a way, because in Japan at least, they're the kinds of games that would shift consoles. You'd have thought Sony would be tearing Capcom's arm off to get something like Monster Hunter 4 released on the Vita as well as the 3DS. It managed to sell over 2million copies in about four days in Japan and shift pushing on for 300,000 3DS consoles over that week. Vita is just going to lag even more behind when Pokémon is released next month, followed by Zelda and Professor Layton...

But yeah, that same version of Fifa 14 is coming out on the 3DS, but they're not releasing a version at all for Wii U (they could have just ported this 'Legacy' edition haha).

Just saw that Fifa 14 on Android has Ultimate Team, and they can't put it on the Vita? feck off...

It really winds me up. "We don't release a full version because the sales aren't high enough"

Well you don't get the sales because the handheld versions are half-arsed pieces of garbage. Rinse and repeat.

Really glad FM has a Vita version coming though.
