Gaming Nintendo 3DS vs PS Vita thread.

I wanna pick up a Micro sometime. I've got all the other GBAs so it'd be nice to add that one. I'd love the Mother 3 edition but they go for over £300 :(

If ever I'm rich Olly, and one day I will be, I will have Adriana Lima hand you over a signed one.
:drool:

A Victoria's Secret model and I'd pay more attention to the Gameboy :D

Jesus, 300 bucks is a bit insane.
Yep. It seems most video game related things I want are really expensive :(

Yeah, used videogame stuff can get mad. I still want a copy of Suikoden 2 someday, even though I finished it multiple times via.... methods.

Looking at the micro on Youtube, even games like Pokemon seem clearly readable.

I put a flower in my hair and I don't know how to remove it

It's not. It'll have you bewildered at the brilliance of it's mundaneness.

I want it...but I imagine I'll be waiting a little while before the 3DS gets emulated. Surely can't be any more than a year before a group of internet heroes does this, right? :(

It's a great game for the same reason why The Sims is a successful series - how can something as muindane as "life" be so entertaining?

It starts off too slowly, though.

Quick hints:

- At random, one of the rocks in your town contains a gem when hit with your shovel, and one contains multiple coins if you hit it frequently enough (kind of like those repeated coin blocks in Mario - the quicker you hit it, the more coins you get). You should dig a hole behind you before you hit it:

Code:
HYR

H = hole to dig
Y = you
R = rock

Then you can repeatedly bash the rock to get money without the recoil getting in the way. You get 8 money hits this way.

- Don't sell your fruit initially - plant it and let it grow
- You can stack fruit! Up to 9.

The first rock I tried after reading this had four coins in it :D

EDIT: Actually 11 in total.

is anyone here over 20 going to buy the new Pokemon game? just making sure I'm not so weird for loving Pokemon. :D

Finally getting a 3DS today!

Im getting Mario Kart 7, Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil for sure but im stuck between getting Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem or Kid Icarus!. I know Fire Emblem gets great reviews (and looks fantastic) but Monster Hunter looks like my sort of game, doing quests and hunting monsters while farming for gear I can see myself playing it for hours.

Anybody who's played Monster Hunter before can recommend the game or shall I just go with Fire Emblem? Also I know Animal Crossing is decent but none of my friends have a 3DS so is it still worth getting without much options of multi player?

You can play multiplayer for Animal Crossing even without your friends. Just need to exchange friend codes and you'll be able to invite people over to your village or visit others.

Can't say much about Monster Hunter as I've not played it, but Fire Emblemn is brilliant.

Decided to get Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter 3 and Fire Emblem. I'll also get Luigi's Mansion for free from the promotion they are running. These 4 will keep me busy but they have a great library now I still want about 6-7 other top games it really is an impressive little console.

I succumbed and bought Animal Crossing as well, so I'll be bothering you all in the next few days for your friend codes so that I can snoop around your towns

I'm 24 and continue to enjoy them, so I'll be getting X or Y when they come out :)
Mid 20's and buying Pokemon x/y crew checking in
27, not buying X or Y.

Probably end up with both.

Fire Emblem is immense, one of the best games I've played in years.

I tried the Monster Hunter demo, didn't get on with it, I'm possibly too violent for it though, usually running in all guns blazing.

What are the 4 rooms in the museum? You have bugs, fish, fossils, and the other one?
Paintings. Someone will come by with a tent eventually and he will sell paintings - one a day. Unfortunately, it might be fake - but the museum takes the legitimate ones.

You might also get paintings from other villagers and Nookling Junction, although I haven't personally got any yet. I say "might" because you get weird stuff from villagers - I got my first bamboo shoot from one of them and that's meant to be really rare and difficult to obtain in a normal way...

Decorations!

If you like, this game isn't a very deep game. It's a game that you play for about 30 minutes every now and then (unless you are island farming for bells, which can take hours). It's mundane, but charming. It's about decorating your town and house - kind of like The Sims or Sim City (the good ones), in a way - utterly pointless, but adorable.

Or, in another way, it shouldn't be your only 3DS game. I don't think it's the best 3DS game out there, but it's one you don't play for hours and hours, days and days - this game will burn you out quickly if you try that (in fact, barring island farming, it's almost deliberate that you run out of things to do in an hour or so in the game - I think this is intentional).
