Absolutely mental post. He was fantastic against Madrid, and if played like that for us he'd walk into our team.
All three are more proven then Otamendi though, which was kind of my point. Though Varane is the only one from that list I'd want us to spend big money on.
Garay failed at Madrid and hasnt proven himself at a top club or in a top league. How is a dozen europa league games more proven?
ONLY 6ft?
6ft regarded as short or average nowadays?
Maybe not the defender we need but he's good in the air. He legit 6 feet quoted in multiple sources, 6 feet isn't that tall for a centre back, just average. Players like Cahill, Falcao, Drogba etc are all around the same height or shorter and they are all prolific in the air. He's good in the air, period. Infact thats one of his strengths. If thats Otamendi at his best then I hope we stay well clear. Doesn't look like the kind of defender we need in the slightest.
Also looks pretty short for a centre back, which could lead to serious issues in the Premier League.
Its found in the noughties where everyones perceptions of the cost of talent was a little more realistic. We are literally throwing money everywhere. Where is sweet old tactic of negotiation?

I agree, he's not that tall but he wins his aerial battles. Drogba and Cahill are actually taller than him though, by a considerable margin.
Wiki says Cahill is 178 cm (5 ft 10 in), Otamendi 1.83 m (6 ft 0 in) and Drogba 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in). But it doesn't matter really as long as you're good in the air. Cahill is probably better than 90% of the players taller than him. Ronaldo also consistently outjumps taller players.I agree, he's not that tall but he wins his aerial battles. Yes mate.I assume he means Tim Cahill who is prolific in the air despite being 5'10"
We need someone who is composed and basically a leader, not saying this fella is erratic but we dare lacking a leader like Vidic.
In what way?
Varane has played more in la liga but hasnt been as good, what does that prove? That he was able to be registered in la liga before Otamendi was?

Miranda isnt even a first choice and is in his 30s
That's an extremely misleading way of describing his current situation. Him and Godín have been undisputed first choice since Simeone took over from Manzano. He started 10 out of 10 league games this season before he got injured in November. Giménez came in and impressed (which always looked likely), starting 7 league games from then on (he'd only started or even appeared in 1 league game before Miranda's injury!). Miranda has only recently returned after suffering another set-back in December when he started (and played the full 90') v Villarreal. His only appearance since then was as a starter in the CdR return at the Bernabéu, again playing the full 90'. Let's see what happens now that he has returned to full fitness. For the record, I think Giménez deserves to stay in because he's done fantastically, but Miranda not starting at this point in time has next to nothing to do with his qualities as a CB, which is -- correct me if I'm wrong -- what you seem to be implying with that statement.
Time he proved it by giving us some good players at a decent price.No.
peter lim bought them out recently. Hes the same guy who put the money forward for neville et al to buy salford city. He's a utd fan and i think used to work for us fairly high up.
The guys who are more than 6 months of good form are Godin and Hummels and we havent managed to get them yet. We may never.
True, but he's got a real good spring on him. Pat Evra was tiny but could jump amazingly high. For a centre back, in my opinion, I'd say it's pretty average. Maybe I'm wrong.
Vidic was hardly a giant either, but he could jump high and also time his jumps well. I think that's more important than physical height. Just look at Crouch and Fellaini, they are tall but can hardly jumpTrue, but he's got a real good spring on him. Pat Evra was tiny but could jump amazingly high.

Not watched much Bundesliga this season have you.
Can you explain how this season means Hummels has never had more than 6 months of form?
Have to be honest and say I know nothing about him? Is he worth the reported fee?
Depends what you class as value these days. In a world where Luiz goes for £50m, he's definitely worth £26m
true
What about the real World?
