NHL Playoffs

Calgary lost, series now tied 2-2
stupid Nieminen's major on Lecavalier in the 15th minute in the 3rd period
btw, Calgary should have a power play in the 3rd period for hooking, but the referees were :wenger:

Calgary team news -
Calgary Flames forward Ville Nieminen has been handed a one-game suspension for his hit on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vincent Lecavalier in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final. He will miss Thursday's pivotal game in Tampa Bay. Lecavalier, who practiced with forward Ruslan Fedotenko and defenceman Pavel Kubina on Wednesday, told reporters that he will play in Game 5.

CALGARY FLAMES 3-2 Lightning (OT)
YEEESSSSSSS!!!
1 game away.... and the Stanley Cup will be going back to Canada :D

Anyone watch the signing of the national anthems before Game 6?

The only player on both teams singing Oh Canada was Ville Nieminen

not surprised and people were cheering and shouting during the one minuite slience b4 the game... :smirk:

ARGGGG  Calgary...what the hack were they thinking during the 2 power plays killing time.. they didn't get the puck cleared in their own zone (which led to a couple of scoring chances for the lightning and 2 goals from ....ARGGG.BRAD RICHARDS AGAIN!!!!) *with Brad scoring in a game, then the lightning's winning chance is 100%... they did a research on that...which the record keeps going... :smirk: 9-0 already....
credits to Brad, he was outstanding tonight...
Lightning won 3-2 (2OT) a Martin St. Louis overtime goal brought the series back to the US...game 7...........
won't be surprise to see the lightning winning in game 7 if the Flames still use game 6's ppp kill tactics...... com'on... get the puck out of your zone!! and SHOOT THE PUCK NO MATTER WHATTT!!!!

oh and btw...
Martin Gelinas had a chance to score on a powerplay, when he crahsed the net and the puck appeared to cross the goal line.

But NHL director of hockey operations Colin Campbell said no replay showed conclusively that the puck had crossed the line, so the game went to its dramatic conclusion.

:smirk:
and they said the camera INSIDE the net didn't show the puck's in the net.. so no goal.... what a joke...
perhaps all the Flames supporters will be blaming towards the rules about that....

would be fitting to see the Flames win the cup on the road, it's their road wins which have gotten them this far after all :)

Gelinas' goal should not have counted regardless. He kicked the puck into the net--although I am not sure it fully crossed the line.

True. But according to Sutter, no one wants the little team from Calgary to win the Cup. I could care less who wins, though I am rooting for Tampa Bay.

I want Calgary to win. I think most Canucks now see this as a US v. Canada battle (despite the fact that, from what I have seen, Calgary has a higher proportion of non-Canadian players than Tampa ;) )

he kicked the puck into the net, that's true, but the point is, they said the puck needed to be seen from the camera inside the net in order to count as a legal goal, what kind of rule's that...
and btw.. Calgary's home win is not 5-7... and road, needless to say . a new record. 10-2

 was searching stuff on the net, suddently, i found a Calgary Flames song sung by William Hung

after first period, Tampa's leading 1-0, a p.p. goal, brad richards assist. 4 pts om the past 2 games....he just

com'on Flames!!!

The most famous trophy in sports?

To be decided in approximately 40 minutes (if Tampa Bay hang on to the lead). I would love to see this go OT, even though I'm rooting for Tampa Bay. Why am I rooting against Calgary?

feck Canada

Actually, I wouldn't mind Calgary winning the Cup. I just thought this was a funny webpage. ;)

there goes the Stanley Cup To Tampa
credits to the Flames, finally they played well in the third period... they were crap in the first and second....

Shit man, I had a job, tickets for Euro 2004 and a girlfriend before you told me to come out here. I had enough problems before with my season ticket for Citeh... Why you call me to watch this crap.....

Sorry folks this picture has turned up on an Oilers site...... Had to insert it in here....

OILER FANS EVERYWHERE SAY THANK YOU TO TAMPA BAY......

Oilers fans can go feck themselves

One get's the impression you might herald from Calgary...

The flames did well to reach the finals, but do you honestly think any Oiler would have been happy to see them win? It's akin to watching Liverpool or Citeh winning the Champions League....

I think he is from Iceland actually ;)

Nevertheless, most people wanted to see Calgary because they were the underdogs.

Most Canucks (outside of Oiler country) wanted to see Calgary win because they viewed this as a USA v. Canada battle.

I, however, wanted Calgary to win because Craig Conroy is from my hometown. Nonetheless, I applaud Tampa for their hard work. Well done to them.

I would have cheered for anyone other than Calgary in the finals, had it been one of the other Canadian teams. I really do want to see a Canadian winner of the SC soon.

I may be from Manchester, but I can understand the hurt that goes on with regard the cup... One day I want to be back in Edmonton seeing the Oilers lift the cup again, I've seen it done once, so why not again. I have my priority in some ways, it's the Oilers first, then Canadian teams and if not then Western conference, but neither did it this year. Though I could cheer as Calgary failed.

Canada for the World Cup of Hockey, currently the only major cup in hockey that Canada doesn't hold...
