Nhl 2010-2011

Daniel is 4th in playoff points though, Perry deserves the Hart imo the guy is in beast mode atm 8 points in 4 matches.

Yeah, but the last two games they've really been invisible when they've been needed the most (except for a consolation goal by Daniel in game 4). Not to mention in the Olympics and previous playoffs. Markus Näslund all over again.
Like last year they did well against an inferior Kings team and then were again no shows against Chicago.

I'd be happy if they proved me wrong, there's not many lines if any that are more fun to watch when they are in form, but it really seems like their non-intense style much like Thornton's is a lot less effective when the going gets tough.

They aren't alone on that Canucks team though. Kesler, Burrows, Luongo have choked for years too. Let's see if they can reverse the trend this year. Maybe it's the pressure of playing for a Canadian team or something. The city of Vancouver seems to have been planning the parade since about January

Last two games. Sedins 1pt. Corey Crawford 2pts.

GOAT.

Wow Flyers in real trouble.

Canuck fans celebrating a Stanley Cup win in January is like Liverpool fans saying "next season" in April/May:p

Flyers just made it 3-3 after being down 3-0, cant teams keep a lead any more?

Oh and Leighton is back in Flyers net.

True. I really thought they would go for one of the available UFA goalies after last year, but no.

Still, Bobrovsky looked decent for them this year.. is he injured or something?

Edit

I just read 'Bob' hasn't felt mentally up to scratch after losing game 1, so he's excused. :wenger:

Flyers did get Nabokovs rights last summer but he went to KHL instead and Florida refused to trade Vokoun. Bob looked really bad in the match I saw against Buffalo. Zibanejad is apparently dominating in the u18 world championship, the hockey prospect geeks are literally wanking watching him, doubt Colorado can get him with the 11th pick now.

Bryzgalov and Vokoun are available this summer, and Leafs won't be going for them as they'll back Raimer so they can throw more at Richards(I assume they would of tried to get him and Bryz had Raimer not been superb to end the season). And Ottawa sorted their goalie out.....which would leave Philly with a good chance of getting one if they free up space somewhere....which they probably won't be able too. So Bob and Leighton it will continue to be.

Yeah they barely have cap space to resign Ville Leino. Would love if Colorado snagged Bryz or Vokoun but can't see that happening. Owner is penny pinching and doubt they are interested in joining a rebuilding team.

Zibanejad deserves the hype, I can't praise him enough. His stats aren't incredible (slow start), but he's got everything you want in a forward. Size, intensity, physicality, hands, vision, great shot, pretty good speed and is responsible defensively. It will be interesting to see how well his game translates, but it seems to me like he was born to play in NA. Yeah, he might rise even more after these U18WC where he supposedly is doing great. I remember that Ekman-Larsson's stock skyrocketed after impressing in this competition in 2009.

Kind of weird that his first junior team was Bajen, moved to AIK and then broke through at DIF.

Watching Czech Hockey Games now.. man, the tempo is so slow compared to the Stanley Cup playoffs it's almost painful to watch. Wikegård is always good for a laugh though.

What happened in Pittsburgh today? Holy cow.

There have been more routs in the first round this year than I can recall in all the years I've watched the sport (since around the mid-90s).

Thought moving junior teams like that is fairly common in Stockholm, surprised he didn't give Huddinge a go hehe. I try to avoid Tre Kronor unless its a World Championship or Olympics, just too painful otherwise;)

And yeah that Pittsburgh breakdown came from nowhere, noticed Fleury was pulled after 4 goals allowed. He's been standing on his head giving Pens tight wins after Crosby and Malkin went on IR guess he deserves the odd night off.

Rangers out. They never really looked like progressing. I think that they really missed Callahan. I wonder if Lundqvist will consider going to the Worlds.. probably not.

It's definitely more common to move around like that in hockey than football, but I can't think of many who have played for all three hated rivals.. I believe Johnny Oduya also did that though.

Surprise, surprise.. Leighton with 3 soft goals and it's 3 -1 after the first period in a crucial game for the Flyers.

You won't be pleased to know that they managed to turn the game around and won 5-4 in OT then.

Vancouver dominates the game but loses in OT. Amazing game. If the Canucks lose.. in game 7 after leading the series 3-0.. in Vancouver. Well it wouldn't be pretty.

I have a small bet on Vancouver winning the series. Wow they actually benched Luongo. Well just noticed Anaheim are out so that bet is lost anyway. Guess Anaheim really missed a top form Hiller.

Cant believe that game last night, when was the last time a team came from 0-3 to win the series, surely the Hawks have a better than average chance now with the momentum an all, Vancouver must be under immense pressure right now

Last year Boston blew a 3-0 lead against Philadelphia, but I read that before that it hadn't happened since sometime in the seventies. This one would be even worse than Boston last year though since Vancouver is the first seed up against the eight seed and the Canucks were regarded by most as the best team in the league going in the playoffs. I think they really miss Manny Malhotra. Especially when you see how important a player like Bolland has been for Chicago. Amazing series, can't wait for game 7.

Joe Thornton with a clutch goal in OT:eek:

So Sharks choke their way to the next round.

Anyone see the game 7 between the Hawks and Canucks?

Canucks keep the score at 1-0 until Toews scores shorthanded about a minute from time in the third period. In OT Burrows takes a penalty, Canucks kill it and Burrows goes on to score the winner past Crawford who was Neuer-like all game. Incredible game of hockey.

Yeah, great game

A number of Chicago's players looked frustrated and tired, especially Toews and Keith. Vancouver controlled that game from the start, and Chicago was in OT because of Crawford. I wish Chicago would have won, but Vancouver were deserved winners IMO

I don't watch Chicago that much, but I've not seen Campbell play as well as he did

Heart.....breaking. Luongo got more luck than Crawford did, Crawford was beyond amazing, you won't see a playoff rookie play that good again for a LONG time imo.

Vancouver deserved the series just, but not as much as Henrik made out, 2 teams clearly had 2 games each, the first was Vancouvers due to Chicagos awful start in that, but 6 and 7 were up in the air, Chicagos heart vs Canucks deeper team? Brilliant, none of them really 'controlled' either in those two, both had plenty of time in the ascendancy.

Also Campbell has been the best D all year, Keith and Seabrook need to re-earn their contracts next year and the ironic thing is, Campbell has the contract that really cripples the team. Hope to god Hawks can keep Corey(2.2-5m over 2yrs), Frolik(2m over 3yrs) and Brouwer(1.8-2m over 3yrs) though, I'd let Kopecky and Campoli go to keep those three, if Campbell wasn't so overpaid, could probably easily keep all 5, well 4 and replace Campoli with another vet D somewhere.

Good series between two well matched teams. Tough break for the Habs losing 3 in OT, with some tweaking and players back from injuries they could be dangerous next year.

PK Subban is a horse.

exhausting series. the Bs' power play was nonexsistant...0-20 i think. could have been a much better series for them if they had just converted 3 or 4.

I've disliked Subban ever since the WJC's in 2008, but I've got to say that he's an incredible talent.

Congrats to Boston, they have a team that could go far, maybe even all the way. Especially if Thomas goes into god-mode again.

Pens go out. Without Malkin and Crosby they at least put up a fight, not sure you could expect any more than that.
