NHL 2009-10 Season

Actually not too surprised by Philly beating the Devils. Demolished them in the regular season and I really was not impressed with the Devils overall this year. It should be interesting to see where Kovalchuk winds up. The possible locations I see are LA, NYR, or staying with NJ. I sincerely hope its the first of those.

Speaking of Philly, anyone see that shot block by Laperriere? Gotta love playoff hockey.

During the regular season, Chara would never have had that automatic suspension rescinded. Disgraceful stuff from the NHL.

Edit: Now Hossa escapes punishment for the same hit that saw Ovechkin suspended 2 games during the season. I really don't understand how the NHL justifies not suspending people for blatant suspension-worthy incidents because it's the playoffs. It sets a ridiculously poor standard. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when Malkin slew-footed 2 Rangers in one playoff game simply out of frustration. Obviously wasn't suspended despite the very dangerous nature of slew-footing.

The Laps blocked shot was insane !!

As for the suspension shit, the fact Oveckin only got 2 games, and then Hossa got nothing, is a joke.

Would be quite disappointing if the Caps went out in the first round. Having said that though, I'm very impressed with the Habs. They really outplayed Washington defensively last night and has an insane PK. Doesn't hurt that Halak is looking hot as hell (no homo).

Is Bodreau the problem? I kind of like him, but I don't know if he's the best coach. Seems like they disregard defense too much. Maybe they are the new Sharks. A great regular season team.

They really need someone like Regehr on their team. Should have got themselves a shutdown guy instead of Corvo IMO.

looks like the B's will play either pittsburg or philly depending on how things finish. it's confirmed that mark savard will be back. i don't want to see him on the same ice as matt cooke (pitt) and i hate philly.

I need a team to root on so I have decided that my playoff team will be Sharks even though they knocked out AVS.

Detroit - Phoenix starts in a bit. Would be quite shocked to see the Wings go out this early.

i've never cheered for a habs' goal before but i just let out one for the second goal scored for montreal with just under three minutes left in the game. wow!!

now washington scores...:nervous:

edit...they needed that last goal. good win for montreal. love seeing washington fall.

My prediction curse strikes again :D

Who do you want out next?

Oh I'll make it Penguins - Blackhawks in the final now then

Feels like another Pittsburgh-Detroit final in the making tbh. How fun for the non Penguins/Red Wings fans....

THE HABS !!!

As a fan I care, but I really don't care if we beat Pittsburgh or not... I loved seeing us dethrone Washtingon

I'd like to see a final between Detroit and the winner of Boston/Philly

Whatever happens, I just hope the Pens go out as soon as possible. So go Habs! (for now)

The Bruins take a three games to nill lead on the flyers.

Go B's!

edit: they're scoring goals, matching/exceeding the physical play, and Rask is standing on his head.

My adopted Sharks are on the verge of knocking out the Dead Wings, very amusing:D

And what happened to Flyers?

Man Jersey woulda put up a better fight then the Flyers, that series has been painful to watch because Boston is shutting them down with little to no effort.

The Flyers are ruining my hockey pool, still!

You'd think Richards or Briere would do...anything...

Great win tonight - Whole of Montreal's drunk!

I hope Subban keeps his head on straight and doesn't get distracted by the fruits of Montréal because he could be a great d-man if he keeps working.

what's the mood like in Montreal, sid? *

* aside from the usual surly, cigarette fuelled sense of superiority, that is.
