Very good buy if true, good fee.

Chelsea will be a force next year, they won''t be pretty to watch but definitely will get results with the squad.

I think Pedro and Hazard hold the answer next year.

It's better than £30m for Lamela though.

Lamela was £25.5m and has become an established part of our best XI.

11 goals + 10 assists last season + a big contribution in terms of workrate and closing down players .... what's not to like?

Just for the last season, you lot got a very capable squad. Matic, Fabregas and RLC are better than the rest can dish out.

the season before you had Matic and Fibreglass on top stats

Even in the title winning season it was a mess. Matic and Fabregas didn't control games very well and were too slow and static.

30 mil. A bargain if true. A lot cheaper than a certain Juve player.

I disagree, Matic was a monster during that season.

Kante is a great player, but I'm still convinced that of all the teams in the PL, he is the least of an upgrade for your lot.

I actually think he's way cheaper than Pjanic, and dont start talking about Pogba. That £200k in compensation was a steal, makes the Kante deal look like they are overpaying massively. Yeah yeah..

No he wasn't. First half he was great (We still couldn't control games completely in midfield with those 2 in a pivot) but second half he was average and we lost all control in midfield.

Mourinho knew they didn't work as a midfield pairing and identified another CM in the summer to make a midfield 3.

That's your take on it, and that's fair enough. I dont agree, but the world would be a boring place if we all agree at all times.

He was a beast and then that infamous near leg breaking tackle happened. Wasn't the same after he came back from that suspension if I remember correctly.

Seeing loads of Leicester fans and fans of other PL clubs slating Kante and questioning why he'd leave Liecester for Chelsea. Like, seriously? After one magical season people actually think moving from a tiny club to a huge one is strange?

Champion's League is overrated on this forum I think.

Money is what matters to players, money and a good project.

Can't blame Kante capitalising on a great season to get his plum "dream" move.. Leicester City won't top last season so there's no great time to turn when you are that hot. If Leicester City fail next season it will be on Jamie Vardy's head he will feel the scolding from the Leicester City supporters as football supporters and media have short memories.. he should've left !

Mahrez should be looking to jump ship while he's still hot property.

What the feck are you talking about

Neither a bargain nor an expensive signing. I am not sure if he can replicate last season form. Considering usually Defensive Midfielders and defenders cost less than equally talented attacking players the price sounds about right.

Can people stop with the "Should have gone for Kante instead of Pogba" stuff.

Two different types of player.

I'm not slating Kante. Go get that money. But it is disheartening from a neutral perspective to see the Champions of England gutted of their best players. Doesn't Bayern catch massive amounts of flack for seemingly doing the same to other clubs in the Bundesliga? Why is it now ok in this instance?

You're a Chelsea fan benefiting from the transfer so I don't expect you to feel this way.

Quite gutted about that, wanted United to go for him to be honest but fair play to Chelsea, they need better midfielders just like us and now they have one. 10 million extra due to them not being in the Champions league but still a good price.

They're getting a hell of a midfielder. By the way, how important is the CL these days? Both Man Utd and Chelsea don't play CL but they've attracted the likes of Zlatan, Mkhitaryan and Kante.

Do you think Matic was a problem or issue was that he was doing a job for 2? If my memory is right, having Cesc as your midfield 2 partner wasnt great. Also think that in 1st half of that title winning season,he was in solo DM position with 2 in front and behind him,or that wasnt the case.

Good for them, bad for everyone else. Was the best mid in the league last sesason

How are they being gutted of their best players? Mahrez, Vardy, Drinkwater etc are still there. They also got plenty of money to spend on new recruits. Let's not get dramatic here.

Feel sorry for Leicester. Win the league, secure Champions League football, and players still want to leave. He's going to be a massive miss.

1. Mahrez hasn't committed to Leicester for the upcoming season, has he?
2. Kante was Leicester's best player in the second half of the season, as Vardy and Mahrez cooled off. It's a massive loss. Imagine Southampton buying Lampard off you guys after the 04/05 season.
3. Upcoming clubs are rarely able to adequately replace talent snatched up by "bigger" clubs.

I wanted to see how far Leicester can go in CL with their best side.
Still feel that it's not a very wise move as just don't think Chelsea will be back to CL next season. Have far too many places to change-3 of their 4 defenders, CAM, more competition to Fabre(Matic and Kante competing for other spot). IMO should have waited for other signings to be completed before signing for them. And atleast 3 defenders, a Striker and a midfielder if planning to play 3-5-2/5-3-2. (Although feel with them having Hazard and Willian, they are better off using a 4231 or a 433

Mendy is a very similar sort of player. Will be interesting to see if he performs as well.

Unfortunately a good addition to that Chelsea team:(

I think the whole CL talk is yawn when a ''big'' club misses out on it because more often than not both Chelsea and United will finish in the top 4. Kante know's he'll be in the CL next season.
