NFL Thread

Love me some DRad. The guy watches NFL, cricket, anime and Pointless. We’d be best buds for sure.

He's right. Tom Brady isn't just overrated, he's also a plonker.

For so many people it's still not much of a choice. They would play football.

Makes me feel guilty watching it. But then what should I be doing?
I’m a boxing fan, and the type of fight I want to see is one that’ll give both boxers brain damage. What does that make me?

Spread all the information on the topic you can find, educate other football fans you know and push for a complete ban of youth football, with any elements of blocking or tackling whatsoever.

The way I see it, as long as those playing it know what they are doing, are granted necessary health benefits for life, a support network beyond that and aren’t pressured to play the sport, it’s ok to watch. But kids should not be allowed to play and there should be no form of public funding at all.

Currently waiting at a car repair place and in the lobby they have a morning show interviewing Robert Kraft on the dynasty he created and his 10th super bowl appearance.

All this trump supporting old shithead does is sign checks. feck off

That's one thing I've always found a little strange about American sports, the owners seem to almost think of themselves (and be talked about) as part of the team.

You see loads of them in post-match celebrations in the locker room - so weird.

The owners getting the trophy before the players/coaches always annoys me.

TV producer fired calling NFL's Tom Brady a 'known cheater'
A TV producer in Pittsburgh has been fired for labelling New England quarter-back Tom Brady a "Known Cheater" during a news broadcast.

Mike Telek, 27, told US media that the stunt, in which the words appeared at the bottom of the screen, was just meant as "a little wink for fans".

"The graphic that appeared Monday violated our news standards," KDKA-TV said in statement about the firing.

A charity to help the jobless producer has raised over $1,000 (£760).

The New England Patriots will face off against the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday's Super Bowl championship in Atlanta.

The game will be Brady's ninth Super Bowl appearance.

The "Known Cheater" label stems from the 2015 controversy that came to be known as "Deflategate", in which the New England Patriots were accused of secretly deflating footballs to win a playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts.
/SPOILER]

So what's everyone's plans for Sunday?

I'm thinking of having a bit of a session on Saturday night so I'll sleep in Sunday and not be falling asleep late in the game.

We're getting in wings and making pizza rolls and loaded nachos. Also beer, obviously.

I'm having 6 mates over for hot wings, plenty of nachos, beers and some mary jane. The game starts at 00:30 here, so usually about half pass out before halftime.
Me and a friend started watching the Super Bowl ten years ago, and it's become a tradition, with more and more people joining. The routine is the same every time, with american food, snacks and beer.

With work the next morning (or about three hours after the game), I don't drink more than a beer or two, so I'm yet to pass out or fall asleep. Work the next day is usually quite tough, though.

Good plan apart from the next day, super bowl Monday is always my first day off work of the year!

Ah the nervous Super Bowl Sunday morning.

Meeting some friends for a pub brunch.

Then heading to the driving range.

Then picking up snacks from Sainsbury’s.

And then need to figure out how I kill those horrible hours until kick off!

Gotta drive home around 8 hours from Austria now, after three days of boozing. I’ll be exhausted when the game starts ffs, but no way am I missing this. Hopefully it’ll be a good game.

No beers though, work will be hell enough tomorrow as it is.

Picking the Pats to win with less than 7 points.

Honestly don't understand why the SB isn't moved to a Saturday. Would be a gamechanger for the European market and from what I've seen Americans would like it too.

Sacrilege. Kicking off earlier on Sunday however? That might benefit both sides of the pond without veering into blasphemy.

So happy CBS have this game. No boring Joe Buck and Aikman, and we get Romo too. Should be good.

I don't think NFL games are watchable with Brady anymore. The amount of unwarranted praise he gets, it's like watching a United-Liverpool game on LFC TV.
