He's from San Francisco too right?

The 49ers passed on both Brady and Rodgers, two local boys.

I love how he told Robert Kraft that he was going to be the best decision he ever made. Unbelievable balls for a 6th round pick.

How the Niners narrowly passed on local kid Brady in favor of Giovanni Carmazzi.

Saw that last week too. Crazy stuff.
Wonder who made the final call, Mariucci or Walsh?
Brady’s family were big Niners fans too which makes it even more galling.

I'm going to guess it was Mariucci since he was the coach at the time. What is scary is the 9ers were just a few years removed from their 15 year dynasty and had they selected Brady, we could be looking at about 3 decades of 49er domination.

The 81-95 SF 49ers were a system as well and Montana is rightfully considered one of the greatest QBs ever. Also, Brady has done a hell of a lot with moderate weapons around him. Montana had Rice; Manning had Harrison and Wayne, Brady has had the likes of Welker and Gronk, who despite having had good careers will never be thought of in the same calibre as the others.
I think Brady is a terrific quarterback. I just don't like anointing him the greatest because he landed on the Pats. Which is why he is, really.

Belichick is the greatest coach of all time. Brady one of the goats, not THE goat.

Mahomes was pressured 45% of his dropbacks. He was sacked 3 or 4 times. The best quarterback in the league with one of the most dynamic offenses was held to 0 points in the first half.

Hill was completely taken out of the game and Kelce was ineffectual. They rushed only 41 yards for the whole match. Belichek put on a masterclass.

Brady was pressured only 10% of the time. He wasn't sacked once, in fact the only time someone got close to him they grazed his grill with their pinky finger and got called for roughing the passer. They were able to rush 176 yards. He/they also had the ball twice as long as Kansas and Mahomes did.

But in the end and despite all of that - if that Kansas defender was standing literally a few inches back, then Brady has 3 TO's, including the one that cost the Pats the game.

Brady is amazing no doubt, his record speaks for itself. But the constant wankfest is over the top (not meaning in here specifically, but in general with talking heads, etc.).

It’s funny though. How you pick and choose your stats. Or only look at things from certain angles to fit your opinion.

No doubt, we won against Kansas because Kansas beat themselves and because BB put on a defensive masterclass.

Brady’s only bad turnover was the play action at the goal line. The rest were tips. But let’s say it would be his 3 TOs that would have cost us the game.

You mention how close Kansas were. But forget the 10+ points we left on the field with that pick, missing on 4&1 in field goal range. And you don’t talk about that Kansas stop. Just that we ran 170+ yards.

You talk about all of the issues that Kansas offence had. But forget that they had some big plays and moments in the second half. Let’s ignore that too I guess.

You don’t talk about how on key moments and downs, Brady made plays. We can point to how bad Kansas’ D is. We can point to how the receivers got open. But it’s a wankfest if we say Brady came up on big plays and big moments.

Talk about time of possession like Kansas hasn’t won games with less time of possession than the opposition all season. They’re a hit deep and fast team. They don’t methodolicaly drive the ball the same way our offence does. In any outcome of this game, Kansas would have had less time of possession.

Apologies for the sarcasm, but anyway, if someone says Brady is not the GOAT I’m fine with that. There’s a debate to be had. But what annoys me is posts like this where subconsciously or consciously bias creeps in to their points to frame it to suit their view and ignore other available information. I could equally make a case and say the constant effort to find every reason to explain why Brady isn’t responsible for his record is just as boring and tedious.

I'm not particularly biased one way or another against the Patriots in general, I have nothing but respect for Brady, BB and the whole organisations. We'll never see this level of constant, sustained domination again. Though I admit that I was hoping KC won this one, as it's time for a change of guard.

My post simply highlights the facts of the game, and was aimed at all the talking heads and fans who simply state Brady won them the game and is the GOAT because of it, yet seemingly ignore the fact that if not for a few inches he's cost them the match. His whole team was great. Yes he was brilliant in OT and did what he needed to under immense pressure, but it should never have got to that point. If that one player was simply onside then the whole post game narrative is completely different.

IMO the GOAT argument was put to bed prior to this season anyway.

I know, was just pointing out that there were other facts you missed and narratives you missed.

That’s just how the game is though. Mahomes gets most of the praise at KC. Brees did at the Saints. Rodgers does at Green Bay. QBs always get the praise. If the game is won they’re the one who won it. If the games lost, they are often the one who gets targeted. Not saying it’s right. But is sadly how it is. I agree, Brady was not the main reason we won.

On your point about the defender lining up out of spot, it’s a dumb mistake but the whole game is if’s and but’s right? What if Brady’s pass at the goal line was a few inches either way? Might not have been picked, could have been caught, or we would have had 2 more downs to get it.

What if we converted that 4th and inches?

What if Edelman had extended his hands a few inches more, it might have been caught, it might have been tipped another direction.

Point is, in a football game there are loads of huge moments. The offside stands out because it directly would have changed the result. But, football is a game of inches on every down. It’s just overly simplistic to boil it down to that one play.

The NFL announced on Monday that the following games will be played, with dates and venues to be determined for the four London matches.

Mexico City: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

London: Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

London: Chicago Bears vs. Oakland Raiders

London: Cincinnati Bengals vs. Los Angeles Rams

London: Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

London games don't look too great this year.

I hope they do a game in Melbourne at the MCG at some stage, I think they'd get 90k there.

"Marketing executives wanted employees to see how fans were engaging with the Browns on social media, so they projected the Browns feed onto a giant wall at the facility. It was like broadcasting talk radio over the entire building, and one day in particular, it was worse than that. One of the marketing staffers entered a search for #dp -- for Dawg Pound. The problem was, that hashtag carried a few different meanings, one of which triggered an array of porn to be broadcast onto a wall for the entire office to see for more than 20 minutes, until a tech employee killed the feed."

Only in Cleveland.

Who the feck is Kansas? We talking the Jayhawks here? It’s Kansas City, KC, or the Chiefs. Nothing else.

An old colleague of mine constantly post Browns stuff on his FB feed, mostly anything about Mayfield, and even sends the occasional IM to us or tags us in his stupid posts. They're a weird bunch up there.

Yeah they really don’t look that great. Only hope is the Jags get a QB, Texans game might be interesting then.

Panthers Bucs could be fun if Newton is playing.

Bengals Rams, don’t see how Bengals can close that gap in the offseason to make it interesting.

And Raiders Bears, can hope I guess.

Yeah... just depends on how the teams draft and use FA. Otherwise some of these games could be pretty dire.
