And I‘m not saying the defense is great, I‘m saying the pieces to become great are there. There’s a difference in those statements. The fact that we’re third in sacks right now, even though our OLB‘s are horrible, is a very promising sign.

Yep, how I see it too. Got some good individuals in that to build around.

Take that back about Kyler Sackrell.

Also whoever has this can lose to me online
I might fancy a game in a week or so once I get the hang of it. Still installing atm and it takes fecking forever.

If he keeps going for a while I might. He’s better than what’s left of Matthews. I give him that.
I say just tank the rest of the season and get a prime edge rusher.

Jags have fired their OC. As if that's the problem

I‘m all for it. Playoffs are gone, now let’s tank. We’ve seen what a somewhat high pick can get you in Alexander. And we’ve got another first rounder, so trading up might be a good idea.

Depends on the board I spose, still a fair few holes in the roster. Trading down then back up for Jaire also worked out well.

Gutekunst seems to be more aggressive in those regards, so I think we’ll be more creative when it comes to building a new team. Overall, I’m quite relaxed. We needed those seasons to reload. Next season we’ll be contenders again.

Defence is significantly improved from the shitshow that was last year.

I think the problem is with Aaron. Perhaps due to his knee, he is not scrambling right and ends up with sack at 3rd downs. He needs to get back to quick throws and no huddle offence.

Cobb and Clay will have to take a pay cut if they want to make it back to this team. We have some free cap space and more draft picks, so yeah...I have high hopes for next season.

I agree on the D. We look much better there. Very encouraging.
I wouldn't bring back Cobb or Clay. It's time to move on.
In regards to Rodgers, he's obviously somewhat struggling, but that's also down to the inexperience of and with his receivers and of course his injury. He's getting better, though, so I'm not worried here.
The short throws are usually just not there. We hardly ever run routes through the middle. It's boom or bust with this offense. That has to change. More intermediate plays are necessary. We need more creative running, more running on second and third down, play action has to come back and so on. But most of all, we should stop to rely on Rodgers' scrambling skills every damn play. Just snap and release it every now and then.
But that's mostly down to coaching. Thats the one personal decision I really care about. We need to get the next coach right. Who knows what comes after Rodgers? We got to go all in quite soon. So failure is not an option. I hope they don't pull of some bullshit by promoting Pettine or something like that.

Rodgers is 0-37 when trailing in the 4th quarter to a team with a winning record

Jags announce Kessler as their starter next week  What a mess.

Nobody really talking about Houston, but 8 straight wins & they’re going to be a threat in the playoffs.

So who is everyones sleeper teams for this year?

I quite like the Chargers and The Bears should be interesting now.
Chargers is an interesting shout but seems like they are still hanunted by the injury curse.

For me the 3 teams who I feel are currently underrated overall (not necessarily sleepers):

Ravens
Giants
Broncos
Chargers
Ravens
Giants

Giants 9/1 to win the East
Chargers are not really sleepers, they're favourites to win their division and in most people's playoff predictions.

I agree with the Giants. Otherwise, Cardinals for me.
Cardinals and Broncos
So no one has Tampa as sleepers? Last year they had bad injuries on defense and they might have a running game this year with Ronald Jones; I don't know about their defensive backs though.
First three games are the Saints in New Orleans, the Eagles and the Steelers without Winston, pretty good chance they start 0-3 Got one of the hardest schedules overall as well.

Don’t know why but I thought of these just now haha.

Quite interesting to see how we were all broadly wrong, or 50% at best, except JoaquinJoaquin.

In terms of mine - Chargers were a decent pick. Ravens Meh. Giants were 9/1 for very good reason

I think Houston were my sleeper team. Pretty sure I had Jags getting to the SB (ffs)!!

The Jags should just pay Bortles his guaranteed money and take the hit in dead cap space (around $16m I think). They're going nowhere with him at the helm and their window with the still excellent defence isn't getting any longer.

Such a bad decision to extend him last summer.

I think they are like the Cowboys and taking advantage of poor opposition .

I expect both to make the playoffs and get absolutely slaughtered first match

While we've had an easy schedule (and continue to have one), we've been largely overlooked as well during our win streak. Only last night we easily took care of the Titans who recently wiped the floor with the Pats. We won at Mile High to a Denver team that just won succesive games against two of our main rivals, the Steelers and the Chargers. The Chiefs are great to watch offensively but couldn't make a defensive stop to save their lives as shown against the Rams and Patriots. Mahomes is great but he had five turnovers against the Rams.

Yes, we've played bad teams and we've had some luck with coaches' decisions (Garrett, Vrabel, Reich(?) come to mind) and missed kicks (Denver), but you create your own luck and we've simply created a winning formula that works for us at the moment. If we can establish a running game (Miller has 5 100-yard games in his last 6 I believe), it opens up the passing game for Watson and his receivers and that helps us so much. Our defence can be as dominant as anyone if they're playing well. I feel like it's different compared to our previous division titles this year, there's really a believe that we can go far and beat anyone.

A first round bye in the playoffs is definitely not out of reach either.

Chiefs remaining games: Ravens, Steelers, Seahawks
Pats remaining games: Vikings, Steelers
Steelers remaining games: Chargers, Patriots, Saints

Those are all very tough games. Meanwhile, our toughest tests ahead are probably the Colts at home and Eagles away. We currently already have the second-best record at 8-3 in the AFC although the tiebreaker belongs to the Pats. I can see us going 12-4, which could be enough for the #2 seed - even if it would be #3, we would be favourites at home to whoever ends up as #6 seed imo (currently likely to be the Ravens, Broncos or Colts).

May have to actually watch First Take tomorrow to see asshat Smith's meltdown.

:D Shannon Smith as well .

Wow what a win the defence is for real . I still think we are a year or two away from really going for the superbowl but hey I'll take it now as well .

Fecking hell Saints. Road to Atlanta will be a lot tougher if it doesn’t go entirely through the Dome.
