I think they are like the Cowboys and taking advantage of poor opposition .
I expect both to make the playoffs and get absolutely slaughtered first match
While we've had an easy schedule (and continue to have one), we've been largely overlooked as well during our win streak. Only last night we easily took care of the Titans who recently wiped the floor with the Pats. We won at Mile High to a Denver team that just won succesive games against two of our main rivals, the Steelers and the Chargers. The Chiefs are great to watch offensively but couldn't make a defensive stop to save their lives as shown against the Rams and Patriots. Mahomes is great but he had
five turnovers against the Rams.
Yes, we've played bad teams and we've had some luck with coaches' decisions (Garrett, Vrabel, Reich(?) come to mind) and missed kicks (Denver), but you create your own luck and we've simply created a winning formula that works for us at the moment. If we can establish a running game (Miller has 5 100-yard games in his last 6 I believe), it opens up the passing game for Watson and his receivers and that helps us so much. Our defence can be as dominant as anyone if they're playing well. I feel like it's different compared to our previous division titles this year, there's really a believe that we can go far and beat anyone.
A first round bye in the playoffs is definitely not out of reach either.
Chiefs remaining games: Ravens, Steelers, Seahawks
Pats remaining games: Vikings, Steelers
Steelers remaining games: Chargers, Patriots, Saints
Those are all very tough games. Meanwhile, our toughest tests ahead are probably the Colts at home and Eagles away. We currently already have the second-best record at 8-3 in the AFC although the tiebreaker belongs to the Pats. I can see us going 12-4, which could be enough for the #2 seed - even if it would be #3, we would be favourites at home to whoever ends up as #6 seed imo (currently likely to be the Ravens, Broncos or Colts).
