NFL Thread 2019

Seahawks game condensed into one play. Looking forward to our loss to the Eagles in the wild card round.

Not having Duane Brown next week, will most likely ensure that we will lose.
Yeah, having our two competent lineman out makes it too easy for the 49ers. Add in Carson, Penny and Prosise all being injured and our only option is to go back to the second half of the Steelers game and go for short passes in the 2 seconds between snap and sack. But that wont happen because we'll still be establishing the run in the 4th quarter down 20.

Now being rumoured that we might try and get Lynch back for the final few games...

The Raiders have a quite plausible path to the playoffs, who would’ve thought that!

Well, the Steelers look crap, the Titans aren't all that. I think the biggest danger for the Raiders is the Bronco's who annoyingly look to have found a QB, and still have some good players.
Rooting for ya - a Divisional showdown at Arrowhead would be fun.

Which would be nothing short of a minor miracle given the players Gruden has lost over the past year or so. He will also have about 5 picks over the first 3 rounds in the draft to work with for next year.

Would be... although they'll probably give us another tonking. For me, its a year or so too early, and I'm still not 100% convinced that Carr is the man, but if we draft as well as we did this year again in 2020 we should be a good team.

Yeah its 5 picks in the top 90 or so. From that we definitely need a top WR, a LB that doesn't get himself suspended indefinitely, and possibly a guard considering Incognito is bound to do something stupid soon. A CB that doesn't give up huge plays consistently would be nice too.

WR is a must imo. And since Lamb and Jeudy will almost certainly be off the board by the time Gruden is up, Higgins, Jefferson, and Ruggs should each get a close look.

There's also an outside chance Justin Herbert will be available for the first pick, which would be too tempting to not pass up.

All the talk in the beginning of the year of Kellen Moore being some kind of offensive guru was a tad premature. Horrendous play-calling.

Would not be surprised if Jerry promotes him to HC. He loves a yes man and fairly certain Moore would do so to be a HC (as many would). There are rumors of Urban Meyer getting an offer. I don't see it happening.

Perhaps Gruden can make Carr his Gannon for the next season or two.

Eurgh our play calling was an utter joke yesterday, reminded me of Dallas playoffs last year.

Not sure which was worse, the ending to the second drive or the hilarity of the two running plays for a combined -6 after the blocked field goal.
They are out of RBs at this point (other than Travis Homer who is rookie) so may be worth a shot.
He's an improvement on Homer but it won't make a difference as long as our OL stays at their current level.

Ruggs to the Raiders would be the best Al Davis-type pick to ever happen.

It is destined to be. I have spoken.

Seems like Beast Mode to the Seahawks is happening. Not sure how fit he'll be, he needed some time after his previous retirement as well. Things don't look good for them right now but if they win next Sunday they'll still host a home playoff game as division winners, won't they? A stat came on yesterday that they're 10-0 since I don't know when at CenturyLink.

Not surprising.

It was clear Gase never wanted him, and he isn’t fitting the system/not being used properly.
He's the worst HC in the league for me. Look at how both Fitzpatricks, Parker, Drake et al are performing now that he's gone. Runs the fewest plays per game as well if I'm not mistaken and he's just not the right guy to develop Darnold or create some kind of identity for the Jets. They deserve him though, shocking appointment after what he'd shown in Miami.

Carson is currently 16th in DVOA.
Classifies as one imo or was that to dispute it?

He's third in the league in YAC - almost 1k yards, 75% of his total rushing yards. Was top 5 in broken tackles last season as well, I think. He's not as elusive or as great a pass catcher as some of the other RB stars but I think he's a great downhill runner who can create space for his own. I think he's better than the likes of Fournette for example.

Is he? I mean he a good rusher but one of the best in the league?
I'd have him top 10, yeah. A borderline RB1. CMC, Barkley, Kamara, Chubb, Henry, Jones, Cook, Zeke are the guys I'd have over him right now off the top of my head.
