NFL Thread 2014-2015

That lawyer's statement is stupid. If that's his argument, he's not got much of a defence.

Is it just me or do a large percentage of NFL players tend to be spectacularly fecking stupid? They're lucky they've got football because without it they would be fecked. And yes that probably leads into a huge debate about upbringing, ghetto's and all kinds of shit

Pretty much. If you look at American Football compared to other sports - it's ridiculously physical and high risk. The kind of person willing to put their own body at risk to that level every single play needs to have a certain mental make-up. In the NFL, you're either a sadist or a masochist. And those kinds of people don't grow up in normal environments.

Which is why you see there is a such a large socio-economic divide between the least high-risk position in the game (QB) and pretty much anyone else on the field.

Fair to say AP went a bit far

That's grim. Coming on the back of the Rice stuff, I reckon he's suspended for the season irrespective of the criminal charges.

Used to be open season on the QBs until the league wised up, turned into a passing game and tried to protect the passers. Its gotten to the point of comedy now how much they penalize for hits on the passer.

Gurley is a fecking animal. He's unreal. But he reminds me of Trent Richardson...

Praying DeAngelo Williams doesn't play today because I scooped up Jonathan Stewart at the zero hour and put him in my line-up. On the other hand, I dropped Bobby Rainey, so Doug Martin better play...

He's much faster than Trent Richardson.

Richardson lost a lot of speed over the course of his career. Freshman/Sophomore Trent Richardson was really rather quick but yeah, I'd agree with that. I just remember being awestruck by Richardson breaking tackles and running through people when he was at 'Bama and he's been a massive bust in the pros.

Don't watch college football, though from everything I've read, he had an excellent (almost pro level O line) at college which made him look good. True or false?
Kinda. Like I said, his ability to break tackles was really impressive at 'Bama. But their O-lines, since Saban's been there, anyway, have been superb. Although Ingram has shown flashes, you could say the same for him. I think Derrick Henry looks the best of the lot coming through there.

After the United performance, a Pats win would also be lovely...

RG 3 looks to be in bad shape after picking up an injury when he went out of bounds.

Meanwhile, pats tie things up!

Welcome to Revis island motherfecker!

Edelman!!!

He's become key to our offense.

The RG3 injury will look disgusting in HD. Fortunately, RedZone and all it's pixelated glory has blurred it somewhat.

Good game between the Saints and Cleveland.
