NFL Thread 2014-2015

I like this new review system. Much quicker to get a decision.

What an addition Demarcus Ware is going to be this year. Hopefully him and Von Miller can stay fit. If they both play, then any QB is going to have trouble in the pocket.

Montee Ball ! And just one month after having appendectomy too.

They're really calling these illegal contact penalties this year. Further erodes defending in the game IMO.

The illegal hands to the face one is becoming a joke already. It used to be called for actual swings at players heads, but some of the penalties I have seen called so far are so soft - let them play.

I do think the Seahawks' secondary needs to be called for the holds and illegal contact they do - and I guess the new rules are designed to achieve that. But there were two illegal penalties called against the Niners secondary that were baffling.

Is JJ Watt going to earn that $100 mil contract or what? Absolute beast and if he stays healthy he's on-course to becoming the greatest defensive player.

Ray Rice's contract terminated.

Also suspended indefinitely. That video is disgusting.

Apparently cutting him would put the Ravens over the cap. They've scheduled a conference for 8 pm, I doubt they will cut him.

Edit: Just seen updated news. Never mind. He's done.

The league's reaction to this is mind-boggling. The initial suspension of 2 games was a joke but they were fine with it. It was "ok" for him to hit her but not for him to knock her out?

Haven't really followed the story. Has it been said what they were arguing about?
And it's horrible that she has since married him.
Also, the NFL needs to sort out their punishment systems. Up until today, man knocks out his wife was a 2 game ban, drunk driving/smoking a bit of weed was a year ban... and murdering someone was Hall of Fame and statue in Baltimore (someone had to)

Hate bloody EuroSport. Wish C4 had the MNF games.

You leave Megatron unguarded?! :nono:

Brilliant from Stafford.

For what it's worth, Adam Schefter on ESPN and multiple other sources are claiming the NFL saw the tape months ago. But now there is a public outcry they have got cold feet. Which wouldn't surprise me. They're more incompetent than the FA, yet twice as powerful

Welp. JPP what the frik.

Not sure if that should be a penalty. He was surely pushed into the punter?!

Excellent drive from Detroit. Game over.

If Matt stafford plays like this, Detroit are going to be a good playoff team. They deserve it too.

Wouldn't be surprised either.

The initial 2 game suspension was a joke. I am sure they saw the video back then, but still felt it only warranted a 2 game suspension. Having subsequently been caught our by the (obvious) uproar, their claim that they have only just seen the video means they can act all tough and make it seem as though they are strict and decisive.

OK, I've decided to learn NFL and now need to choose a team. Based on a in depth and deicated research spanning over 15 mins in Google, I've shortlisted 2 teams

Giants - Because I'm in NY, and
Packers - Because they are described as Man Utd of NFL. Green and Gold included.

After couple more minutes of reading, I'm leaning towards Packers now. Must get to read more on this Rodgers guy.

Opinions?

Eli's the elite QB.... go with Rodgers & Green Bay.

I'd always suggest to go with the local team because you can watch all their games on TV or at a pub, unless you have Sunday ticket or something like that. I'm a Rams fan living in Texas and I barely get to watch them since they are not on national TV a lot either.

You don't have those bars that show 10 games simultaneously?
