NFL 2023

Not really sure what Belichik is trying to do with the Pats. It’s like Sir Alex sticking around as manager to see United being mid table & average.
The worst thing for me is how boring the team is.Generally older coaches are in win now mode but Pats are nowhere near good enough but at the same time aren’t really in a rebuild either. Belichik has something against exciting players and so he has handpicked a collection of methodical boring players who will just follow his instructions. Sad to see

I believe he's haunted by Brady proving it was Brady* by winning with Tampa and is hellbent on winning without Brady in NE. That said, he could prove it by taking another gig with a franchise QB but perhaps that doesn't really "prove" he's the best.

*That first championship against the Rams was certainly Belicunt and Crennel, and perhaps some solid gametap... err, scouting. And Ty Law should have got the MVP.

Bryce Young is 42-71 for 299 yards so far. That's barely 4.2 yards per attempt and 7.1 yards per completion.

What kind of passing offense are they employing there? Nothing but screens and hooks inside five yards?

Browns lose by 4 after a pick 6 and a Watson fumble returned for a TD. Plus 2 facemask penalties to cost his team field position. What a shame.

Just as everyone expected, we now have three 2-0 teams in the NFC South.

We need some respect on our names @calodo2003

Browns losing because of a Watson fumble recovered by TJ Watt for a TD certainly made my Tuesday morning  He looks awful as well by the way, great to see. Steelers gonna need to be carried by their defense if they want to be competitive this season as well, Pickett ain't it and how Canada still holds his job there is also beyond me.

He's a bust. His 3rd year, running into sacks, overthrowing open TEs, not seeing open receivers, incapable of progressing through his options, every deep throw is an interception because he stares down the receiver for 3 seconds...

Tank for Shedeur/Caleb in full effect
Disagree. He hasn't been good but he's also not helped by his coaching staff. Had one of the best rushing seasons for a QB in history last year, then you get an entire offseason to prepare and take a leap forward, and you design... 5 total rush attempts for him in his first two games. Just a complete mismanagement.

Also they didn't show the Chubb injury on Game in 40 and based on the comments on here and Twitter I'm not gonna look it up again either.

Hopefully he just makes a full recovery, read that he barely had any guaranteed money on his contract as well :( Guy looked unstoppable once again in the beginning of the game.

Oh definitely, his coaching staff have been mediocre. But Fields hasn't done enough for the GM to take his side.

He doesn't have (or hasn't demonstrated, at this level) the ability to keep defenses honest with his arm. Teams as a result will tool up against that.

Yeah that's fair, I think I'm still on the side that think he showed enough in college to prove that he could do it. Needs a different environment or coach staff to succeed though, that's the bare minimum now. I also thought it was the right decision to trade the #1 pick if I was the Bears this offseason.

It’s definitely bad, the human leg shouldn’t do that, hopefully it’s not a career ender.

7 of the 9 remaining unbeaten teams are from the NFC. Quite interesting given that it was widely agreed upon that the AFC is much stronger these days, especially regarding QB play.

Who should be ranked higher than the Bucs based on the first two weeks?
Saints wasn't pretty either but I'd have them firmly over the Buccaneers. Bengals are also better even if they haven't shown it so far, Chargers, Commanders, Vikings as well, maybe even the Titans. Baker has these stints in which he plays well but I don't trust him to keep that up for an entire season.

Tier 1
Chiefs, Niners, Eagles, Cowboys

Tier 2
Ravens, Dolphins, Bills, Jags, Bengals

Those are my first two tiers of teams and you could make an argument for a lot of other teams to be included in a third one (Seahawks, Falcons, Lions, Saints, Commanders, Chargers, Vikings, Titans imo).

@RobinLFC hits on it. Besides, it just feels wrong.

Monday night will be a good test for this team. A good competitive loss won't be the worst-case scenario for us. If Baker's trajectory continues to rise or even plateaus for a long while, then we can start feeling good about the season. Beating a subpar Vikings team while somewhat controlling the Bears game but somewhat not controlling it doesn't imbue me with a ton of confidence.

Yeah but it’s a power ranking though. Aren’t those things based on week to week performances rather than overall quality of the teams?

Fair point, no idea how they are decided to be honest. Still feels tough to rank some of these "lesser" 2-0 teams like the Buccaneers and Falcons over legit contenders like the Bengals to me, but of course they gotta get their clicks somehow.

No clue!

I saw another poll (no idea if it was a 'power ranking' or not) & it had us at 19th. or 20th. I feel that jives better than 12th. I'll see if I can dig it up on my timeline.

e - feck it. Can't find it.

No idea how they’re decided either. I just know these things are more about performances in the most recent week than overall quality. Sometimes I see European football power rankings and it has teams like Lyon and Dortmund in the top 3.

It’s cool bro. I think 12th is fine if it’s based on week 2 only or the first two weeks. It makes sense that way, even if it is ultimately meaningless and just a click bait way to get people talking.

We start a fun four game stretch with the Eagles, then home against the Saints, followed by away to the Lions & the Falcons. Eagles have some injuries & it's probably a pick em right now with the other three games. 3-1 isn't out of the question if our form holds.

I'm glad we are playing some NFC South teams earlier in the year; it seems as though the last two seasons were so back heavy with those games.

Head to head games between Bucs, Falcons and Saints feels like a toss up at the moment. I feel like our defence is the best unit out of all the units on all 3 teams. Falcons running game is scary at the moment and Baker is playing with a lot of confidence for the Bucs. I think we’d all fancy winning against each other on any given night.

For some frigging irritating reason, I cannot associate you with the Saints even though we've posted with each other about games, etc.

We need a full favorite team roster that just stays as a permanent header in a spoiler no matter what page of this thread we are on.

It's the only way that those in obvious cerebral decline like myself will be able to know who supports which team.

One question I have for you is I noticed Taysom (sp?) lead y'all in rushing yesterday. Was that out of a typical RB position or was it more jets, sweeps, etc.?

Too early to really rank all teams after just two games but in all honesty I'll be shocked if 49rs don't win the Superbowl this time round.

They just look too have no weaknesses at all and are head and shoulders above anyone else, barring injuries they should win it.

As to who they would face i would love to see the dolphins get there but i think Chiefs, Bengals and Bills will improve a lot too

I’ve got 1 adult and 1 child ticket going for Jags vs Falcons if anyone is interested. I can no longer go, PM me if you are interested
