NFL 2023

With ownership or fans?

I expect the owners will give him longer than fans but if we end the season with a losing record I don’t expect him to keep his job. I’d probably go as far as to say the same for Russ tbh, and maybe even the other Paton who made the insane decision to give Russ the extension before he’d even played.
Makes sense.

Focus will be on Russ but how has the Broncos defence fallen apart so badly. Washington seem to be scoring a TD on every possession

Why is Wilson looking to make 30 yard diagonal throws for 5 yard gains when he's got 30 seconds to get 80 yards?

No Freakin way. Tipped multiple times and they scored.
And they need the 2pt now

Why on earth did the commies defender bat the hail mary ball back up into the air?

Because he's safe in the knowledge that Denver would feck it up in it end.

What’s also funny is that 2 point play was much better then anything they ran in the redzone the last possession

Ugh. Between that and the face mask no call in the first half, that’s tough to swallow.

So......I thought Eric Bienemy was just supposed to be a glorified clipboard holder?

As a neutral in general I thought Washington got a lot of calls. That interception was weird as well for me
It's about time Washington got a few breaks. It was 2011 the last time we were 2-0.

Super Bowl here we come.

Is it just on DAZN that the sound is behind by 2 seconds?

Reckon TB have a chance against the Eagles next week with how banged up the Eagles are.
I'll take it. If Baker keeps minimizing bad reads / throws & gets it into Evans / Godwin's hands AND the rushing attack keeps improving, then we have quite the chance.

@calodo2003 should Tampa trade Evans during the season? in the offseason? extend him?

Kinda difficult to trade him in-season if they start off in contention and they may well be contending for the NFC South. That said, they won't go far in January (game wise not distance) barring Baker morphing into Rich Gannon 2001/2002 or Joe Flacco 2012.

That's a good question. Two quick wins with Evans exploding tonight doesn't make the decision any easier. A win v. Eagles next Moday will throw it all up in the air. The learning curve of Baker from that first half til now has been considerable; not saying he's one of the two you mentioned, but if the upward trajectory continues or if he levels off soon with no real regression, who frigging knows?

When talks stopped a few days before the start of the season, it was pretty much determined that Evans would be leaving sometime this year or soon after the season ended. The parties were just that far apart. I have no clue as to what was being asked by Evans or what we are prepared to offer.

Trading him midseason will have to depend on what we will get in return & where we are positioned in the NFC South. I don't think Godwin could play as well as an X as he does in the slot. He just doesn't have Evans' speed or size. We'd have to get someone serviceable to play X before we even begin to discuss draft picks. That player will have to possess some leadership material & professionalism as we would be losing a ton of that in the locker room with Mike gone. Evans wouldn't rate as a first round pick due to his age, but a second or third round pick plus the right player coming this way might get Licht et al ears perked up a bit. These are the parameters going around Bucs media as of a couple of weeks ago.

I think the Bucs will adopt a Rays mentality of trading the player while their upside is shorter than their downside. But, again, if Evans drops 1200 or 1300 yards & 10 TDs on the table, the Bucs might reconsider, but it would have to be a stellar season evocative of his first few.

Hopefully it will ultimately be one of those 'good problems to have' as it would signify improvement in this team that wasn't predicted or anticipated.

Patriots fans booing at HT. I always find it interesting that the English football culture seems to be a lot more about fans cheering while in America they give it to their teams in a proper way. Obviously Eagles fans are next level in terms of booing but I think United players for example get away with a lot of rubbish.

Totally forgot about his daughter's tragic drowning. He played his ass off today & put the game out of reach with his pick six...
