NFL 2023

It will be a disgrace if the Pats win this

Annoyed that was overturned, partly because I'm not sure there was enough to overturn it but mostly because it was a really cool play. The refs hate fun.

What an utterly bizarre game. Miami completely dominated but somehow didn’t kill it. Ridiculous decision to kick a 55 yard fg with a kicker who is 33% over 50 yards

I think most of that was based on his injury history and the 49ers injuries. But I think it worked like the nuclear Ghandhi glitch, somehow he is now so injury-prone that he stays fit.

A good summation! Niners fans are still scared of his injury history and their forums go mental if they think Shanahan is leaving him on too long

I do wonder if he has a different tolerance at the niners, since he is part of a winning team and his last couple of years with the panthers were toilet. He was apparently carrying a knee injury for much of last season. It must be much easier suiting up for a team that wins.

Just realised that the Giants have the Niners on Thursday night. God bless this team

That’s a long journey for them off a short recovery, could be a proper spanking, especially if Bosa gets his finger out. Saying that the niners will likely get another terrible injury and lost 17-10 or something awful.

Not really sure what Belichik is trying to do with the Pats. It’s like Sir Alex sticking around as manager to see United being mid table & average.
The worst thing for me is how boring the team is.Generally older coaches are in win now mode but Pats are nowhere near good enough but at the same time aren’t really in a rebuild either. Belichik has something against exciting players and so he has handpicked a collection of methodical boring players who will just follow his instructions. Sad to see

I don't see how that isn't called
Or if it's not you would hope it's never called again (which won't happen)
Didn't even look subtle live
I’m trying to forget about this. Between last night and United, I’m starting to forget why I started watching sports in the first place

I’m not great with all the rules but is there no place for a coaches challenge on that?

I believe they tried to make it subject to coaches' challenges under a trial system in 2019 or 2020 but it wasn't very successful, coaches can't challenge a non-call right now. Not sure if they are subject to a booth review (in the final minutes of each half) but don't think that's the case either.

Fair enough. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much given my posting history in the VAR thread, but given it’s such a stop/start game, it seems like a blind spot.

In that situation the defender really has nothing to lose by intentionally fouling.

Yeah, I don’t understand at all what our strategy is.

Sky just played the hit on Chubb. This is brutal…
