NFL 2023

McCarthy did exactly this in the Seahawks game as well, also Dak is a veteran QB now so shouldn’t be throwing that pass. The difference in needing a TD with 1 minute left to 1 minute 40 left is so so huge.

I don't understand the call on Decker not reporting to the ref. The replay clearly showed him with the ref and his team mate seemed to get in his way.

Unless he stopped him reporting for whatever reason?

He does so many things that do not make sense. I have to live with following this team and just watch ridiculous decisions by this coach time and time again. Meanwhile Dan Campbell might just be insane but I would take him as my coach anytime.

There's a video floating around from the Spanish ESPN coverage where it's announced that 70 was reported eligible, but that seems to be the ref's feck up which is obvious from the pool report. The ref made the error. But If the lions and cowboys heard that, whom is supposed to correct the ref? And how do you correct it without a delay of game or wasting the conversion attempt?

I love this Lions team man. Hope they make it out of the NFC.

They got quite obviously screwed over by the ref on the conversion but after that penalty you really have to just kick a FG.

If the Boys don’t make I’m a Lion fan. AFC I’m rooting for the Browns then Buffalo

Honestly appalling clock management by McCarthy once again. Its a massive flaw in his game and usually costs us. Thankfully bailed out by the officials, not that a result either way would really make a difference to anything.

This was a game for us to get our Mojo back but left us with just more questions on McCarthys in game management at crucial times.

It's still a win against a playoff team, but yeh its definitely a concern.

Bringing my dad to his first 49ers game today
Too bad y'all didn't go to Candlestick for that. What an absolutely loveable, beautiful shithole of a stadium set in a natural wind tunnel. Went there multiple times swearing to never go back, but always did.

I’m surprised my dad never went when he lived there (throughout the 80s). He says there was always a waiting list and I reckon money was an obstacle. Or he didn’t know where to look!

Candlestick also had an uncanny ability to become a marshland after rain, evident the Jan 93 and Jan 95 NFCCGs. The league really should never have let those games play out in such shit conditions. I vaguely recall there were discussions with the two teams and league officials over the Jan 93 game about possibly postponing a day so the field could be repaired somewhat or the game relocated to Stanford think it was suggested. I think this was in a documentary about the 92 Cowboys, or maybe one of those NFL Films.

The niners players said they could tell by the Bay tide in the morning how much of a marsh candlestick would be. It would flood very easily

Referee Brad Allen's crew blew two more crucial calls late in Lions-Cowboys game

*The phantom tripping call on Dallas #89 against Hutchinson which negated Pollard's 7-yd run to set up 2nd-and-3 at the Detroit 22. Instead, Dallas were penalized 15 yards and McCarthy goes with three pass plays, ugh, and settles for a long FG (risky even with Aubreymatic), which gives Detroit a chance with 1:41 remaining. Hutchinson should have been penalized for his leg swinging trip attempt, gives Dallas a first down at the Detroit 11. Detroit has two TOs remaining so Dallas runs/kneels three times then probably kicks a field goal, which gives the ball to Detroit with around 1:00-1:15. It took them about 1:20 to score from their 25 in actual result. It's also possible Dallas break a run inside the red zone and go up 24-13, or get a first down via run or penalty and run out the clock.

*Lewis definitely interfered with Brown on the Lions subsequent drive but no flag thrown. But if the above play was properly ruled this may never occur nor does the eventual score and two-point attempts, but maybe it still plays out in a wild last second finish.

This crew won't be officiating any playoff games probably.

Redzone is going to be chaos today. What would it even be, Decobox?

RZ is great all season long, but during this time of the season is where it really excels. Can't wait.

The Packers are apparently considering getting rid of Jaire Alexander. I must say it really is the marker of a special kind of stupidity and cluelessness, if you keep spending every high pick you have on defense, only to get a single player out of that process who is an actual star at his position and you manage to alienate him so much, he wants out.
We have wasted so much draft capital on D and have virtually nothing to show for it.

I'm in a pickle. Ravens fan and want to watch the full game but I'm also in the championship game in my FF league so need to see it all.

How Hill didn't make that a TD I don't know.

Need to smarten up, Dolphins offense is putting down a whupping.

Okay I was a little worried after the first few plays but these Patriots are remarkably shit.

Glad the Ravens ran up to try and get that play off, force them to throw the challenge flag. Catch looked fine to me.

Patriots offense having a nightmare here. 4 turnovers in less than 20 minutes...

And Allen with his customary INT
Our offense is almost as shit as the Patriots so far.

I want to be excited for a game for the division in Miami but if we play like this we will get murdered by the Dolphins...
