NFL 2023

That's a bogus intentional grounding call on Browning, he got hit as he stepped out of the pocket and in the motion of throwing towards the sideline where a receiver was.

At least KC giving us a hand.

If the Steelers win their last game and Bills v. Dolphins is the last match of the season, Bills will either be 2./3. seed or out of the playoffs entirely right? Rough position to be in...

Was at a loose end yesterday and watched some of this on sky, I used to watch it and found it enjoyable before. Maybe it's how they show it on sky, but it has to be possibly one of the worst spectator sports to watch on tv right now, 5 seconds of action, stoppage, ads, what's going on in this game. Back, another few seconds of action, stoppage, more stuff from the studio or some other game. Back to the game, another few seconds and rinse and repeat.

I'd say I watched it for 15-20 mins and the in game clock went down by about 2 mins and there was probably about 30 seconds of actual action on the pitch.

Horses for courses. I personally find it more exciting and more enjoyable than any other sport.

Especially when the Eagles lose, amirite @Ayush_reddevil ?

I used to watch it quite often and maybe it is just the way sky cut away from the game at every stoppage that takes away from the experience. You don't really see anything that happens in between plays, it's just away to the studio or some screens showing stats and other scores.

You might love redzone especially if you're not watching for a certain team

What was you watching? If you're a neutral, you might wanna watch red zone.

I think it’s difficult to follow as a single game with no attached context to it, that is why it’s a difficult sport to get into. Weirdly once you are into it the ads don’t seem much and you don’t even realise it.

It's so comical how the sports talk shows talking segment is only the 2-pt fiasco but not the incorrect person on the tripping call, the latter would have affected how the game actually plays out in the final 2:00.

It's akin to political shows covering certain segments and soundbites without full context to enrage viewers.

Was a few stinkers tbf. When was the no call on ARSB?

Have never seen his name abbreviated like all the others to do so.

That came on the final Detroit drive.

Haha I only did it because I wasn't sure of the spelling tbh.

Ah fair enough. I knew it was late but couldn't remember when.

No dig at you specifically but I find these abbreviations super annoying. As someone that is not an exceedingly knowledgeable football viewer it regularly throws me off.

And especially when it is shorts names it kind of makes the poster look like a tool to me :nervous:

Happy new year to you too :(

Sorry, I should have said HNYTYT.
If it makes you feel any better, I spent my new years in bed with a fever of 40 °C. At least I got to watch a lot of Football

It's probably time to start making NFL refereeing a full time job & compensating them properly. Sure, it's seven refs per team, but the cost outlay would be infinitesimally small for the shield v. annual revenue.

It's funny how it's still the focus on the 2-pt call versus the incorrect player & team assessed a personal foul for tripping that altered how the last two minutes play out. Gotta keep the fan rage going. Astonishingly, one person has brought it up on the talk show circuit, and funny how McAfee doesn't know about it because that doesn't sell rage, the 2-pt fiasco does sell the rage and proves all these shows are the same with researched talking points.

Only just seen the ARSB stuff. Blasphemy, he should only be referred to as the one and only Sun God.

New York sports talk is off the hook today. What’s disturbing is the amount of callers on Rodgers side of this.

Feck him but I'm glad for him. He was getting clowned by everyone. The Saints went all in and paid Carr top dollar, while the Bucs took the cheap route. Baker is now on the verge of guiding his team to the playoffs while the Saints are staring at yet another crossroads offseason with an ownership that just refuses to do even a soft rebuild. I already know how the offseason is going to go. They'll restructure a couple of guys, cut/trade/sacrifice one high earner, keep all the coaching the staff and then pretend to to be shocked when the team goes 7-10 or 5-12 next season.

Kicking the can down the road like clockwork.
