NFL 2023

Not sure about that any more - there are maybe the Dolphins and Ravens looking strong in the AFC and then Detroit,

Maybe on paper but not the way they’re playing at the minute. There’s only the Ravens and Dolphins looking anywhere near SB calibre in the AFC, whereas the NFC have the Lions, Niners, Cowboys. With the likes of the Eagles and even the Rams being not far off. Even the Bucs look better than the likes of the Bills and the Chiefs at the minute.
Cowboys, good one.

True. We are front running phonies. Could have been rooting for Tommy D today but what’s the point now. We’re locked in going on the road in the playoffs.

Not sure I agree with this. Bucs looking better than the Bills? Nah.

The very best teams might currently be in the NFC but overall the quality in the NFC is worse in my view.

And that’s even before saying the Cowboys look SB calibre.

I don’t necessarily think the Bucs would beat the Bills, but it’s not impossible depending on which Bills turn up.

But my general point is more aligned with your second paragraph.

That I can agree to.

I think the best team in the NFL is the 49ers. But beyond that, there’s a group of teams which have top class performances in them as well as dogshit performances.

It’s been a strange year in that sense. That’s why I think there’s huge potential for the playoffs to be super exciting and surprising.

This game is showing how turnovers decide games most often. Raiders haven't cracked 150 total yards and about 40% possession time but up 20-7 off two defensive scores. Chiefs haven't done much of anything positive on offense, missed 36-yd field goal and a turnover on downs inside the 10 standing out. They've left too many points on the field.

Chiefs and Jags are gonna backdoor their way to division titles on current form, thanks to everyone else being average at best in their respective divisions. I suppose there's still possibility the Jags could choke the division away somehow but the Chiefs are probably safe.

Such a shame about the result on SNF, the Broncos could've been just one game behind the Chiefs at this point. How do you lose to the Pats ffs

I didn’t see it all, but there was an awful lot of stupid short screen passes and long slow developing plays being called which had been an issue all season long and shown over and over not to work.

The number of times we’ll be at 3rd and long, Russ will drop back and then throw a short pass to a back that barely gets beyond the line of scrimmage, it’s utterly infuriating.

Added to the above, pass protection was largely poor and we lost Sutton to a concussion. No Court no party, the guy has been making career highlight catches every week this season. Kinda like how Rashfords purple patch last season papered over lots of cracks at United.

Russ hasn’t been BAD, and I don’t think he’s the problem, but he’s not been elite either. Takes too long to read the defence, struggles to get through his progressions in time and eats way too many avoidable sacks.

Basically the offence is just poor, and when you combine that with a double muff on special teams to give up two TDs in 6 seconds of clock it’s not going to be a good day.

Not a shock but I kinda feel bad for him tbh, he’s been unfairly targeted by the league this season. He’s definitely got some bad hits to his name but he’s been judged by those a number of times since for hits which have been hard but fair.

The Giants are a bad team when you watch them play. Bad blocks, missed assignments, bad tackling, bad angles taken on opposition players, etc. I don't think it's a coaching problem but just a bad collection of talent, or lack thereof. This is like watching a July scrimmage.

Nick talks a lot about situational football but all season the team has been pathetic in actual situations

49ers are my SB fav, followed by Dolphins/Ravens. But if a true wild card like the Bills or Bucs/rams can have a good day I think everyone is beatable. This has been a really good season.

Don’t know rules there… feels like play should be dead but doubt Jackson is doing anything different even if umpire doesn’t let him… defenders were right on him
He'd have gotten outside the pocket and got the ball past the LOS so it isn't a safety, more than likely.

Hate that penalty. Worst in the game. Shouldn't be automatic 1st down. Would have been a first anyway but should just be 5 yards.
