So nobody thought they had anything to overcome.

The oddsmakers trusted in the notion that they have the best coach and best QB in the league and so they'd be OK. That doesn't mean that they had 'nothing to overcome'.

Semantics. Just because you have your coach and QB, doesn't mean it's not a rebuild. Or a 'reload' if you prefer.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.fo...-rebuilding-reloading-or-somewhere-in-between

I don't think its either. They're simply behaving as any top tier NFL team would - losing a couple of players here, adding a couple there. The Rams have lost significantly more through Von Miller, Odell, Robert Woods, Whitworth et al, and they just won the SuperBowl. No one would view them as rebuilding (or reloading). They're simply "maintaining", just as the Chiefs are.

First paragraph is just wrong. They also traded Mathieu who was the main leader of their D (an all time great player) and cut another of their defensive leaders in Hitchens. They also moved on numerous vets like Pringle, Sorensen, Niemann etc etc and then drafted a bunch of kids in addition to the agency moves that you outlined. If you think that amount of upheaval is straightforward to navigate then I guess we just have different views on it. I personally think they are doing well so far to incorporate all the new moving parts.

The second paragraph I obviously agree with.

Mathieu an ATG player?!

You are vastly overrating him here. In some ways Reid is a better player.

Have you seen how bad the Rams have looked this season? They're in dire need of a rebuild (or reload or whatever) but they'll have to go about it differently than the Chiefs because they mortgaged all their draft picks and they give big money to a handful of top guys and nothing to everyone else.

They are bad, mainly because they aren't executing as well as last year and haven't adequately replaced the loss of Odell and Woods and Miller on the other side. Odell may of course still return, but it may be too late by then.

He's been 1st team All-Pro 3 times IIRC, that's pretty good. Not the player he was though for sure.

Dulcich is a converted WR; he is the guy I expected to soak up the targets that would have otherwise gone to Patrick as another big target like Sutton. He has some catching up to do now though.

It’ll be interesting to see how they end up utilising him for sure. I’m over the moon to have Simmons back though.

It says a lot about the trauma the Giants have inflicted on me in the last 10 years, that I am non-plussed about our 5-1 record at the moment. You just know at some point that Barkley and Jones will revert to the mean...

On the flip side, looking at the remaining schedule, there is no one outside the NFC East I'm worried about facing. Whoever finishes 2nd has a great chance of qualifying via the wild card.

This is everything I hate about our own fans. An absolute embarrassment and sadly in groups I go into he is not on his own especially in his Cooper love and the way he behaves

This is one of those times when I feel compelled to bust out the Richard Sherman takedown of Skip

I only know of Skip Bayless because he's constantly saying how shit Mahomes is. He strikes me as an AFTV parody character.

He also believes Baker Mayfield is better than Josh Allen

Just watched it and although it was very funny (and probably deserved), Skip didn't come out of it looking too bad. I was looking forward to a meltdown at the end which didn't happen.

I’m not an NFL OC, but I do know that you have to stretch vertically before you can stretch horizontally. Quit throwing routes to the sideline when you’ve not forced the defense to respect a deep ball.

Wilson with a sick play dodging 2 tackles and throwing a 30 yarder on 3rd and long. It looked like a certain sack. Then gets a gift on the next play with the wide open WR for the TD.

Bit of a bullshit DPI call on Denver a few mins ago. Mathis didn't touch him before the catch attempt.

Surprised they didn't call roughing the passer there considering all the bullshit calls in the last 2 gamedays.

Broncos defence has been so good this season, with an average offence they would be in a good position
