NFL 2021

I have a prop bet for Aaron Donald, Von, and Hendrickson combining for 3.5 sacks...easy money.

Might win that just on the Rams’ guys, as that’s a big reason why I think they will win.

This feels like a catch up year for the HOF. As in, all of the olds who have recently been overlooked in favor of newly eligible players, are now finally making it in. I would expect normal business to resume next year.
Was hoping Ronde would make it in this year.

Gonna make a few fun ones as well before the big game.

Cinci to win is only 2.63 but Burrow for MVP is at 3.35 - can't see the logic in that one unless Chase goes for 13/200/2 or something like that but even then Burrow will likely also have a big game regardless.

Beckham to have a rushing attempt, passing attempt, and a catch is also one I'm interested in.

I’m a little surprised by that HOF list, to be honest.
All seem to be old-ish cuspers, Boselli is the only sure fire HOFer even with his short time in the NFL. @Raoul put it well, that this seemed to be a catch up class.

That said, the man who basically invented the slot corner position & put up unmatched numbers there still was snubbed.

I am shocked. SHOCKED this ran in the WSJ. Also, do not look at the articles comments if you want to retain any hope for humanity.

Anyone who is the greatest player of all time in their position should be first ballot. I know a return guy isn’t that important in the grand scheme of things, but that’s why they’d never be MVP no matter how electric a season they have. And that is absolutely fine for MVP, but not how the HOF should work.

Yep. Wouldn’t mind Hester one bit. You define a position, you deserve it.

The HoF is cool and all but the inherent subjective nature of it is kinda crap.

Surely Demarcus Ware should be in at the first opportunity?

I never saw Bryant Young or Richard Seymour as HOF locks, if at all. Solid players in their primes, key players to championship runs, just never stood out as top of the position types for me. But, having looked at Seymour's HOF ranking https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_DE.htm provided me a different impression. Perhaps he truly was deserving all along whereas Young is more debatable perhaps.

Still amazed Zach Thomas amongst a few others are not getting the deserved votes. And the travesty that was John Lynch getting in before/over Darren Woodson. Looking at the DB list there are some quality players perhaps deserving of the "knock," some not yet eligible.

I wonder what the Rams will do with Odell. Think they’re over cap at the moment (projected). And I guess they’ll have Woods back with Kupp there and Jefferson getting better.

Also, where do people stand on who they want to win? And if so, how much so? First SB for me in a while where I’m still genuinely torn on who to root for. Thinking back to some previous posts on here I could see a few people who were very much against the Rams for this one. Can’t remember anyone who would be particularly upset by a Bengals win though.

Want the Rams to win, but wouldn’t mind the Cincy story to have a perfect final chapter.

With a young QB like Burrow, there is the risk that he may be amazing for a decade and we all get fed up of him.
That’s why I’m supporting the Rams. A team who have sold their future away in the hope of a Super Bowl, so less risk of them dominating for years to come

Flip side is he becomes another Marino.

Interesting way of looking at it to be fair. But unless we really think Bengals are entering dynasty territory (which they aren’t) it kinda falls down. The AFC just has too many good young QBs to see the Bengals dominate for a decade.

Never had strong feelings about either franchise, bar the Burfict-era Bengals. Picking which side has more players I really like doesn’t help either here. I just hope it’s entertaining past the 3rd Q.

I don’t know if it will be in much doubt in the 4th however. The one guy that can swing this game for Cincy is Matthew Stafford…if he plays turnover free ball I don’t see the Rams losing.

The thing is, when you look into the stats, it’s very interesting to find that the Rams have been one of the worst defences when the QB of the opposing team has got it out faster than 2.5s. I really think as long as the bengals don’t fall too deep into a hole, there really is a scheme that they can deploy which not only plays well to their WRs, but mitigates the matchup where they are the worst (their weakest unit (o-line) whilst also countering the Rams biggest strength, pass rush). Also, the Rams have often struggled against teams which rush 4 and generate pressure. Cinci is quietly one of the best units for that.

I really do think it’s too easy to get engrossed by the match up up front. And perhaps I am over analysing. But if Zac and co. can put Up a solid game plan and keep Kupp in front of their defence, they actually do have a good shot.

I’ll be rooting Bengals but will be absolutely chuffed for OBJ (and Stafford, Miller, Ramsey to a lesser extent) if the Rams win it.

Anything can happen and I'm picking the Rams, thinking 27-20. I have a feeling this could end up a blowout if Donald/Miller/Ramsey shut down and disrupt the Bengals offense, possibly forcing more than one turnover along the way. Also think the trio of Beckham/Jefferson/Kupp will be a tough task for the Bengals to contain. Flip side, I can also see a very close game with Burrow balling out despite constant pressure, the Bengals kicker factoring in throughout, and perhaps Stafford making a crucial mistake late (or more than once).

I stumbled onto some interesting takes for/against whomever.

I go back to the previous SB where I assumed Reid and Mahomes would do some galaxy-brained stuff to get out of not being able to pass block, but I was overthinking it.

Another factor is that the weakest part of their OL, and where the hit came that ended Joe’s previous season, was the interior (so drafting Sewell wouldn’t have fixed that but that’s another story). And Aaron Donald is perhaps the greatest ever at providing an interior pass-rush.

Yeah, he’s impressive. I’m partial to Sapp for obvious reasons, but Donald has surpassed Sapp in four less years.

I mean, ya - can’t fault that argument.
