He’s a FA after this season and it clears a chunk of cap. Denver have essentially acquired those picks for $9m from what I’ve read.
Plus obviously losing Miller now, but we’re not winning anything this year.

Just Listening to interviews like this makes you realise how cut throat this all is. A Broncos legend who by the sounds of it walked into the facility to be told cold he’s on the move. And like that he’s moving hundreds of miles away.
It’s probably the right call for the broncos though overall.
Yeah. It’s always those tackles that are unexpected or pull your momentum in an unusual way which tends to lead to these injuries too. He wasn’t setting the world alight but it did seem he was getting back on track in his career too. Plus I remember him from hard knocks (or was it all or nothing), he seemed like a genuinely nice dude and a good leader unless my memory fails me.

ffsBroncos cleared a lot of money and received two strong draft picks for a player they were not going to resign as an unrestricted free agent. Yes there's sentiment when a legendary player of Miller's status is traded, but that offer is too good to pass up. The Rams met or exceeded the offer Broncos were willing to listen to, and with the trade deadline tomorrow, this was probably as good as it gets. And Denver sent Miller to a win-now situation in LA. Once he is able to think about this without emotion, Miller will be thankful the Broncos traded him to a Super Bowl contender this late into his career.
Depending on how healthy Miller is able to remain, he should get a free agent deal similar to JJ Watt who is also 32 years old.
