Just watching the first episode of Hard Knocks...

Cut for breaking the 'no guests' rule, damn!

I know, just joking that it's no superstar getting cut for that.

I just don't know any Rams stars offhand.
Ahh, got you.

This one doesn't feel like it's gonna be as good. There's no stand out likable characters yet and a few douchebags.

Apparently there's gonna be a second season of 'All or Nothing' as well, possibly with the Cardinals again. That was great and doing it again with them would be brilliant.

It might be nice with another team too. But seeing the continuity would add an extra dimension too!

And yeah, this hard knocks doesn't seem the same. Don't think it'll have any Wilfork cowboy moments or someone flipping tyres like mad haha as a few examples!

It also doesn't seem to go in as deep. But maybe the latter episodes will get better. During the Texans I felt like I know so much of the roster and all the key battles and intricacies. None of that so far.

Yea that's exactly my thinking.

The thing is there is potential - I really thought they'd go into depth about what a relocation is all about. I thought they'd give us a real insight into developing a first round rookie QB (although I also understand why they might not have).

Hopefully the best players like Gurley and Donald will give us some moments in the coming episodes. One thing I really enjoyed with the Texans was how they really dug deep into the battles for the lower roster spots and how they unfolded into people being released.

The relocation is my biggest gripe, it was basically done with after a quick montage and a truck pulling out if a carpark.

Obviously it's only one episode and could come good yet, but last year hooked me after one episode.

Packers' Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers plus Steelers LB Harrison may be suspended by NFL for not cooperating with their PED claim.

Serious shit and it may derail Packer's season.

NFL overreaching as usual and going after players without credible evidence. Packers are the new Patriots.

Dolphins new stadium will be hard rock stadium.

Looking forward to watching games at the rock - thats about as good as corporate names get.

Wasn't the story based on something that has been redacted & Peyton got cleared too?

Goodell's a massive cnut but maybe the players should just cooperate & get it done with. I'd be amazed if any of them got suspended without credible proof, but then again it is Goodell who thinks he is God & can do anything. cnut.

So, preseason games. I'm going to be in Arizona around the time of their last preseason game against the Broncos.

For $60 is it worth going to watch alone or will it be uncompetitive going through the motions trying not to get injured?

$60, Alone, worthwhile?

You couldn't pay me $60 to watch preseason football.

The third game is usually when most of the starters play a good number of snaps, and where you might even see a glimpse or two of the season's playbook. The last one will most certainly be, as you put it, "going through the motions trying not to get injured".

To be honest my first thought was i'm shocked they charge so much for a pre season game. And from what I've watched on game pass, the stadiums don't even look full all of the time?

Brady will not be a 'bum' but I can see him struggle probably by the end of next season (2017). Peyton by the end couldn't even throw 10 yards. I don't think Brady will be that bad but Father Time catches up with everyone and if he takes hit after hit, eventually it will take its toll.

The only interesting thing in that vid(it's pretty fecking obvious that Brady won't go on forever, but both sides extreme hawt takes are ridiculous) is that they all seemed to be very high on Jimmy. I just thought he was another random punt backup for Brady, so you know, starter for the 2019 Houston Texans....

Indeed. Will be interesting how he does in the 4 games he plays & whether they protect him by running a lot and/or giving him short throws to make without risk. I doubt we'll be doing much no huddle without Brady but the 3 home games should help Jimmy G settle. I think we'll be 2-2 at worst when Brady comes back.

Yeah, it's one thing that does have me excited about the start of the season.

The opener will be tough. Other then that it all depends on how Jimmy settles when it really matters.

I also think the Brady prediction is odd. Truth is the signs were there for Peyton long before last year. Brady obviously hasn't got long left but in my opinion at worst this and next season will be the beginning of the end rather than the total end which that view is.

On a seperate note I just caught the Broncos pre season game W2. Where do pepole see that QB battle going? It's damn close. For me though it shouldn't be Sanchez. Not only did hE look the weakest of the three anyway, he has the least upside.

Jesus, I forgot the Sanchize signed for the Broncos.

So we're seemingly no closer to finding out who our (Denver) starting signal caller is gonna be.

Judging from the write ups from the first two preseason games and the ratings they've got it seems like they're all on fairly similar level with Sanchez being unsurprisingly inconsistent and fond of a pick.

To be honest I'm still of the opinion that we should just give Lynch the job from week 1 and let him develop and grow into it. If the others can't separate themselves from him at this point then there's no benefit to putting them in ahead of him in my eyes, and it'd add an element of excitement to watch a rookie QB.

The scary thing with Sanchez is that he throws very obvious picks, millions of people yell "Don't do it!" but he seems to never listen.

He's certainly an odd choice of signing from Elway.

How much do you think someone like McCarron would have costed? 1st and 3rd plus some change.

Edit: I mean before the draft.

Problem with Sanchez is not just that he is erratic when he passes but he's also careless in terms of fumbling.

Think we are all on the same page that if a "veteran" can't separate then there's no point in starting them.

However Siemian and Lynch both looked good with lots of potential but also showed inexperience. This is a tougher choice though because both are relatively new (rookie vs second year) and both have potential. I guess Broncos didn't / don't believe in him long term though hence the draft decisions and what not. It's a question of whether the pre season and training camp changed that.

I don't really know anything about him to be honest so I've no idea.

I know we looked at Kap and Fitzpatrick but both were considered too expensive in terms of trade cost and salary respectively, which makes me think neither of them were really deemed to be the long term answer.

Siemian has also looked decent but I agree with @rpitroda that the draft decision in trading up for Lynch suggests questionmarks over him. Hopefully we'll get a better idea soon, only two preseason games left.

Rams visit next, so should also feature on Hard Knocks.

Anyone watched Last Chance U yet? I watched the first episode yesterday and seems like a very good show, I like that they're presenting it as a documentary.
