Point out where anybody has said they're lucky, please, feel free to. It's not every week that people are doing it. If anybody dares to say ANYTHING that isn't positive in favour of the Patriots they get shot down and then in comes the mentality of 'Patriots vs. the world'.

I said they got a break in two teams losing their star players, not that they're some lucky team. It's not a shot at the Patriots because I think they'd still had likely won both games (I'd have loved to have seen the Raiders against the Pats though).

Chill out. I wasn't even referring to you specifically except on the Carr point. The rest of the stuff is constantly spread on the media.

And I'm sure my posts on here indicate that I'm not a delusional one way patriot fan who can't handle criticism.

Blount's run in the 3rd quarter

A very good performance. One difference this week was we were able to protect Brady a lot better & that will be the key in the SB. Atlanta were able to get a decent amount of pressure on Rodgers & that seemed to upset his rhythm a bit. If they can do the same to Brady, he will find it difficult.

The D has been really good & probably doesn't get the credit it deserves. To get rid of Collins & Jones but still defend as we've done is a great achievement from the players & coaches.

SB will be very difficult & right now I'm having the Falcons as favourites. They have so many options on offense, but if one person can find a solution to stopping them, it's the hooded one.

Besides, if we lose, Bill & Brady can call up their buddy Trump and we can have 'alternative scoring' which makes us winners :)

Maybe. But all that would have done was allow you to keep up with the scoring a bit better

None of the above changes the fact that you didn't really get near Brady and he was able to pick of your zone defence at will.

With or without Bell, he'd have still put up huge numbers on your defence

I'd probably agree. If Bell had been able to play the game though we potentially put up more points and keep them closer rather than them being at a comfortable distance for a lot of the game, which in turn puts them under a bit more pressure and could change the feeling of the game. Again though, that's all if's and but's. Always felt they'd have a field day against our defence, which wasn't as good as the stats made out going into this game.

Ah every week, people find a new reason to deem the Patriots just a "lucky" team. Before it was because Brady had not faced a high quality quarterback this year. Now it's because Bell got injured or because Carr got injured. Doesn't particularly bother me, but I do find it funny that people genuinely come up with these reasons as if they are purely impartial with no bias whatsoever.

I don't know, you lost to the last top quarterback you faced. :)

No idea who I'm taking in the Super Bowl though. Logic dictates ATL being far too hot - but it's the Pats.

Good news for Patriots fans is that I'll be cheering on the Falcons! I'm something of a poison pill at the moment.

A bit of moaning in Bills country today as people realize this guy Hogan was once a Buffalo Bill and considering the injury situation with Sammy Watkins he'd have been a nice guy to have around. A restricted free-agent who the Bills gave the minimal offer to, the Pats jumped in with a much bigger offer they knew the Bills would not match. Bills are still searching for Wide Receiver depth and Hogan helped the Pats get to the Super Bowl.

100% jest

You're joking, but I think he doesn't get the credit he deserves. 2 rings, consistently good & he shows great toughness playing through a lot of injuries. I feel he deserves more respect from fans & journalists.

Not sure who to get behind right now. Seeing Brady win a 5th ring and being the first QB to do so, well that would be cool. Falcons have never won one and are fun to watch, so them winning would also be cool.

They are lucky. What's funny is how Patriots fans can't accept that. It doesn't mean they aren't good or deserving or whatever, but they have been quite lucky.

I think its more lucky for Patriots they are on the side they are. Everything else is great management, great QB, great team.

Also I think Patriots fans are the only ones who are saying they arent favourites.

Falcons to sh*t their pants in the SB and Pats win by 18.

Then Gronk to spike the trophy down Goodell's throat as Belichick does a sexy hip thrust.

Big Ben is labelled a guaranteed future hall of famer from fans and journalists alike. Struggling to see how he doesn't get the respect he deserves?!

My favourite part of the game was right after Hogan's first TD when Jules starting piping up to one of the Steelers' DBs for no apparent reason.

He's now making more money than Kuechly. Not bad at all. Especially considering he'll never make the playoffs.

Strange Super Bowl facts.

For this season more people had placed bets for Cleveland to make the Super Bowl than had placed bets for the Falcons making the Super Bowl. (counting only bets made during last off-season).

They also have the most former players in the Superbowl.

Finally watched both games.

What is wrong with McCarthy? Against the Cowboys it was already strange how little he used Montgomery and he did it again this week.

Didn't he get injured quite early on?

He went out gingerly at some point but was still taking snaps but no rushes iirc. And that's what I don't understand, the packers needed to create some running game or at least pretend that they were going to run instead of that he allowed the Falcons to play the pass at every snaps.

Edit: And he left definitely at the end of the third round iirc.

Yeah maybe.

I think a lot went for them in the Cowboys game, and the opposite happened here. They were close to flawless against the Cowboys given who they had available and still only won by a field goal. Was always going to be a struggle.

Yeah surprised me as well, I always thought he was a lot older than 34 but he's only one year older than Rodgers for example. Two years younger than Eli, four years to Brees and six years to Brady. I think he'll be back though, he has an excellent supporting cast around him and they'd definitely be a contender again next year.

I like that he plays the game with that edge. How sport should be played. Got to be having a conversation with your opponent

Oh damn, I thought he was close to 40.

The second drive had a lot of running too, (well until the fumble). but agreed, needed to use it a bit more to make it less predicable. But regardless of that, that was never going to be the issue. It was always going to be about the defence and the weakness of it, and it finally caught up against somebody who attacked it from the start and never stopped.

An interesting 3 point line. On a range of 'Cowboys v Packers' zero confidence level to knowing the Falcons would destroy the Packers, my guess on this would be the former range.

There's no way Roethlisberger will retire. Like Aaron Rodgers, he's an absolute drama queen.
