I wish the Broncos would do Hard Knocks to be honest, although maybe not with a new head coach.
It's always interesting to learn more about the lesser known players in your team yeah, but don't think they'll volunteer with a new HC.

I hope you get Shanahan, he's done great things with the Falcons offense, although your problems might run deeper with that woeful Oline. His father won two SB's with the Broncos not even that long ago, might work in your favor as well.

I think one of the Hard Knock stipulation is that they can't have had a head coach change in the last 2 years? Something like that.

Yea he's who I'm hoping for and apparently it's the job he wants which is good, depends what Elway is thinking though I guess.

That just means you can't be made to do it, you can still volunteer.

If I remember right the Texans volunteered.

Not sure why I picked the Raiders. Liked the skull and cross bones stuff I think back in the 80's when it was first on Channel 4 in the UK. Stuck with them ever since. Think also listening to Ice T, NWA, etc helped back when they were the LA Raiders.

So why does everyone follow the team they do, if you're UK based of course.

Mine is pretty simple, on John Madden 93 on the Megadrive (I was 6) - my brother told me that we would press "random team" once, and whoever it brought up was your team for life. I got Pats and he got dolphins.. ()

My dad's been into the sport since the 80s when it first got popular over here. 49ers were an exciting team to watch back then so he chose them.

When I got into it about 4 years ago my natural inclination was to pick the 49ers too (he never steered me wrong with United, after all) but we decided it would be more fun if we all picked different teams for a bit of rivalry.

I had no 'real' reasons to pick any particular team, but I was in the middle of watching some King of the Hill box sets and so I chose the Cowboys. I had no idea they were so disliked, but when I found out it just made me like them more.

 Best. Reason. Ever.

Randall Cunningham, was always dynamite on the highlights and was a beast on Madden '92. Made picking the Eagles easy.

Fate I guess, the NFC north is the division I stumbled on the most on the NFL network and they were the darling of everyone so I decided to follow the least successful team and I preferred the Vikings, it could have been the Lions but I felt something for the Vikes.

What's the thinking on Trubisky vs Watson? I thought earlier in the year, Watson was pretty much nailed on to be the top QB entering the draft?

Watson will be highly in demand as well as will Kizer. In terms of who has the aptitude to become very good in the pros, I'd say Trubisky has enormous potential. Great poise, mobility, situational pocket awareness and a strong arm that can throw both heat and finesse. Good scrambler as well. I see traces of Elway, Rogers, and Rivers in him.. Could wind up a massive star.

Very high praise indeed.

Im conflicted right now. Sad that regular season is up but damn im excited for the playoffs. And the Green Bay Giants game should get the hype even more. I hope it's a good game!

Just noticed this thread so I thought I would pop in. I follow the Ravens as I used them in a old NFL game(late 90s one) and I loved their defence. Followed the ever since. Got over to a game the year before the Super Bowl year. Was a great atmosphere and I'm lucky enough to say I've seen Ray Lewis play in person.

On our current team we have a couple of decent players to build around Mosley, B Williams ( though I heard he might be lost in free agency) Jernigan, Ronnie Stanley. But most of the team is aging and Flacco is never going to play to the level that someone getting that much money should. So until we clear that money we will most likely be a .500 team. I would rather go 2-14 though and pick up some super high draft picks but I'm never gonna hope they lose.

Ryan deserves to win the MVP, If Rodgers is in with a shout after his dismal start to the season then Brady's 4 missed game should not be held against him either.

A dismal start that he got them to 4-2 with. One of which was a loss against a randomly super hot Vikings defence. He wasn't even 'bad', I'm not sure why it's something to be held against him. The mid season part where they were trying to figure it out with everyone breaking down was the dismal part, and even then he went 320ave 12-3 TD-INT, rushed for 160 yards with a pretty massive average, while the defence was allowing a whopping 37pts on average.....just to compare that, none of others even allowed 33 or more in a single game, yet alone a 4 game span averaging 37.

Mind you outside of those 4 losses, neither did he, but once that was shored up....it allowed him to flourish with only comeback king Jordy supporting him in a big way really.

I'd allow any of Ryan, Brady or Zeke to win though. It's nice to have a open MVP race really. Really is. But even as a Bears fan, I can't help but admire Rodgers, always have, since his Favre backup days, in terms of short term form that he's produced at times, theres no one better, but it's only longevity and durability that will cost him getting close to the mammoth stuff Brady and Manning put up over 20 years.

Tom Brady's best wins this season

  • Pittsburgh with Landry Jones
  • Miami with Matt Moore

the only time he played a playoff team with a real quarterback, he lost. His other opposing quarterbacks

  1. Charlie Whitehurst
  2. Colin Kapernick
  3. Ryan Fitzpatrick
  4. Jared Goff
  5. Trevor Siemian
  6. Ryan Fitzpatrick again

Kind makes the whole 11-1 thing look less impressive

I played ice hockey for 12 years, and somehow ended up supporting the Boston Bruins. Then i started watching basketball, and felt it would be "disloyal" to support any other team than the Celtics. That's how i ended up supporting the Patriots as well a few years later.

I don't disagree with your post in that Brady played easy teams but the way you present only part of the picture when you make these posts is irritating lol. You'd make a good politician.

Unsure why the caliber of the opposing teams QB makes that much of a difference? Surely much more of a direct measuring stick of the defence?

Denver's D did a great job stopping Brady, but our horrific offense couldn't score. Not so much a QB issue, but definitely O and not D.

Yeah.. your O stunk up the place to be honest.. In the most loving way.

If the argument in favor of Brady was that his statistics were better then yes. But most Brady voters seem to concede that Ryan had better statistics but point to Brady having a better record. So this is directly relevant to that.

I think there are enough Brady voters here to present the other side of the picture. Plus it's just an interesting stat that I happened to see today. Would have mentioned it a few days ago had I noticed it then.

Big Brady fan but I think Matt Ryan should win it.

We had a favourable schedule and he missed 4 games.

Ryan was good wire to wire.

So reading a few rumours that Chip Kelly might be the next OC for NE!! Not sure how I feel about that. Never been impressed with him as a HC in the NFL & not sure how his style of offense would fit in with the Pats system.

I hope McDaniels stays and maybe even eventually replaces the hooded one.

I agree that Ryan should win it but downplaying Brady's wins against teams with mediocre QB's isn't the way to look at it fairly. We should be looking at the level of the defenses he played against.

Denver, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, LA, Baltimore and Miami are no sloches in defense. I know that these games were won as a team but at the same time it's not fair to assume the only reason Brady went 11-1 was because the other team's QB sucked.

I doubt we'll bring in Kelly, i believe Bill offered him a position last season after he was sacked by the Eagles.

If the Texans fire O'Brien, I'd love to see him replace McDaniels

Well I'm sure watching the sideline would be more entertaining with him & Brady shouting at each other

Most Brady fans on here have said Ryan should be MVP. Myself included.

Cant actually find (albeit through a quick scan) of anyone saying he should be MVP based on his record?

I believe Ryan deserves it but if people are going to hype up Rodgers' season and claim he should be MVP based a good half season then why shouldn't Brady be MVP for being great over 3 quarters of a season

If Rodgers is in with a shout after his dismal start to the season then Brady's 4 missed game should not be held against him either.

It's not ass simple as who had a better season stats-wise. Who was more valuable to their team? Ryan had to balance out a horrible defence. Rodgers had to drag the team up with a injured defence and no running game. Compared to that Brady had a relatively easy path.

Day before the SB, I think.
I thought it was in the post-season, wasn;t sure
When do they close the voting, i.e if Ryan busts out of the play-offs straight away and Brady/Rodgers lead their team to the Superbowl can that have an influence?
