Can't believe the Broncos pulled that off last night. I went to sleep early in the 4th expecting NE to have won handily.

Great job by NBC showing innumerable replays of questionable holding calls when in Denver's favour, then not showing it during the vital moment in OT: a blatant pi committed on Keshawn Martin.

Gonna be tough!

EAP if I recall mate you're from NYC? I'm heading there next week and desperately want to see Jets Giants. Tickets reselling well above face value, but do you think it'll be worth it? Been to all the Wembley games but never for a match in the U.S. Tickets are over $250 in the sticks.
Yup, it will drop down closer to the game. Check StubHub.

Adam Schefter tweeted saying he was told the injury "doesn't appear to be serious".

They showed him walking on his own power in the tunnel after the game. Luckily, his foot wasn't planted when he was hit and the knee didn't get extended...it was more a jarring.

He'll probably miss a couple of weeks maximum.

What happened to Hightower? I read he got injured too?!

All these injuries fecking us over. TO might just get his wish & play for us :nervous:

Post X-Ray walk - he is walking a bit stiff...but as you can see unaided and if they were worried about any structural damage - he wouldn't have been anywhere near walking.

How good was Sean Taylor at the time of his death and how good could he have been?

Hahaha, I went to bed when Bolden scored to make it 21-7. I can't believe Broncos won with Osweiler. That's definitely the end of Manning then.

For a game which prides itself in hard hits and tackling, I find it strange that you get punished for your hand brushing against a WR/CB shoulder. Couple of bullshit PI calls kept handling momentum back to the Broncos. That punt return fumble by the pats was key though.

How down do you recon it'll go? Considering game is only in a week tempted to just buy something soon.
The prices are crazy, we hoped they would drop when we were in Denver but the cheapest we saw were $275 each in the nosebleeds so we didn't bother.

I heard the average is about $150+ You can go a bit above it I suppose. Even the $250 ones right now are shitty seats. Good ones as if yesterday were at $300+.

Thinking club level towards the corner. They are closest to FV, although I know that FV is quite high given a few sections down the FV is half.

Not often I will go watch a game in the US, and I'm not even paying for this trip so don't mind spending a little more!

It's crazy. Luckily I'm not paying for anything else on this visit so don't mind spending a little more. Plus not often I'll get the chance to see the closest thing the NFL actually has to a derby (although they play each other every 4 years in a meaningful match so... Not much of a derby haha).

We were half tempted to cough up for it, but with being there with friends who live there decided that rather than pressing them into forking out such a lot of cash we'd watch in a local bar - turned out to be a good decision as they got walloped anyway

He was good but when people die tragically at a young age there is a tendency to overlook their faults. He struggled in coverage and while he made a lot of big hits he had tackling issues early in his career. He was never as good as Polomalu Reed or Dawkins. He had lots of potential but who is to say he would have even been better than Rod Woodson or Rodney Harrison or John Lynch?

Plus I didn't think he was all that great a guy either. He spit in Michael Pittman's face during a game and destroyed a punter with a cheap shot in the freaking pro bowl.

Haha yeah, it's a ridiculous sum of money. Hopefully will get a decent game out of it... But then again it's Giants and Jets so....

Probably should avoid telling people near me that I'm a Patriots fan too

He had 12 interceptions in 3.5 seasons and ~300 tackles.

Made the pro bowl in his 3rd season in the league and even in his last season (interrupted by injury) he was excellent.

He isn't simply a case of he died young...so absence makes him greater than he was....

And yes, he had some issues - but he didn't commit murder or beat his wife.

As for the punter - he decided to run with the football and it was a clean hit. A hit the punter and no one else had any issues with...seeing as he got back up, went looking for Taylor and congratulated him for the hit.

I'm sure you realize that interceptions and tackles aren't perfect statistics. You only need to look at Revis to see how his numbers are depressed by teams avoiding him altogether. Don't get me wrong, he was a very good player with the potential to be great but it is simply a case of he died young when you see some of the things people say about him. You didn't go overboard but I've had people tell me he was as good as Ronnie Lott. Fact is, at no point was he the best safety in the league.

As for the punter, yes he took it well but he lit up a punter in an exhibition game which is notorious for people not taking it seriously to avoid injuries. Imagine if someone had done that now, knowing what we know about concussions.

Jimmy Graham out for the season by the way, pretty shitty.

fecking hell, just watching the highlights from last night, we lost Sylvester Williams and TJ Ward in the first bloody quarter, on top of DeMarcus Ware already being out.

Patriots cut Harper, they don't mess about.

Is a 2 RB formation a thing? They could do what they do on a a free kick where both run up to take it from opposite sides but one fakes it.

Is that a terrible idea? I'm wide awake and apparently just planning my route to becoming an offensive coordinator. With Rawls playing really well, I wondered if it's possible to utilise him and Lynch on the same play..

Wasn't he the guy who grabbed a samurai sword to use as protection in a home invasion robbery? Didn't work out too well for him. I remember that he played at the U and for the Redskins and was a good but not great safety. Agree with Eboue about him not being at the elite level of a Polamalu, Reed, or Dawkins who were his contemporaries and some of the best of all-time.

People forget far too quickly -

His numbers stack up very well against them -

Reed -
Games: 174
Tackles: 643
Interceptions: 64
Fumbles: 11
Sacks: 6
TD: 13

Polamalu -
Games: 158
Tackles: 770
Interceptions: 32
Fumbles: 14
Sacks: 12
TD: 3

Dawkins -
Games: 224
Tackles: 1131
Interceptions: 37
Fumbles: 16
Sacks: 26
TD: 2

Taylor -
Games: 55
Tackles: 302
Interceptions: 12
Fumbles: 8
Sacks: 2
TD: 2

Taylor was excellent - this isn't nostalgia speaking...his stats do the talking. His career trajectory would have placed him right amongst the 'elite' and 'all time greats' you mention.

Ed Reed was an interception machine and his numbers in that category and head & shoulders above the rest...
