Getting absolutely smashed and fumble with a yard or two from a first down was a very suspense moment. He's a great entertainer. Tebow that is. :)

Bye-bye the mighty J.E.T.S!! Another loss and no playoffs for Rex and his loud mouth. He should consider a job as a banker, makes a lot of guarantees but always manages to feck it up without delivering.

as a jints fan i love it. the jests would have to win 3-4 supes to take NYC from the Giants. feck that fat cnut and his brother.

Just realised Stafford threw for over 5000 yards as well, I hope this doesn't happen next year.

Agreed.
Hopefully this is a follow-on from the lockout and the pass will be better defended next season, as so many close to Marino's record isn't good

You have players like Vick and Newton who are QBs but can run with the ball. Tebow is a RB who can just about pass the ball. I think they would be more effective with Tebow as a FB, Mcgahee at RB and a QB who can pass.

It's beyond Tebow's massively self-inflated ego to accept anything other than being a QB.

Taps intro...

Now that the Cowboys have yet again proven to be a ship with no course, a local fan summarizes the season.

Cowboys are epitome of mediocrity - Dallas Cowboys Blog - ESPN Dallas
by Ben Rogers

We didn't have the pleasure of knowing a deep Cowboys playoff run this year, but I’ve spent some time following the adventures of Jerry, Stephen and Spalding Jones. I was raised on Cowboys football during the jewelry-producing Staubach and Aikman eras, so I have a very clear impression of the kind of glorious run that we’re here to bury today.

The 2011 Cowboys season started with such high hopes. Gone was Wade Phillips and his relaxed, friendly lemonade salesman style of leadership. In his place was a red-headed cyborg robot with the most coveted scantron in the classroom.

But in the end, Jason Garrett’s knack to finish other people’s complicated chalkboard formulas -- that only one or two others could -- ultimately gave credence to the theory that he is quite possibly little more than a very intelligent Valley Ranch janitor, potentially capable of being best friends with Ben Affleck.

But despite Garrett’s distinct ability to bore an entire room of reporters into medical grade comas with repeated monotone mentions of watching tape, all three phases and the process on a weekly basis, the Cowboys' offense racked up the second-most yards in franchise history with the worst offensive line in the history of organized football. So clearly the offense was not to blame here

When the season started, Rob Ryan’s enormous belly offered tremendous promise of big things to come. However, in the end, it proved to be little more than a human beer refrigerator and gas-powered balloon muffler. For it was truly nothing more than fruitless hot air coming from this Ryan, and all Ryans for that matter. Were it not for the intoxicating allure of his balsa wood-based bold talk, many of us would have wisely protected our fragile Jerry Jones trampled football hearts.

But because of his completely unsubstantiated and never-backed-up swagger, we believed. Rob Ryan sold us a box of disgusting rotten vegetables, and we couldn’t wait to eat them up as if it was the finest produce in the country. And for that mistake, we all feel tremendous sorrow today as the 2011 Cowboys season rests forever in the Jerryworld-sized coffin metaphor before us.

And so we say goodbye to Terence Newman, perhaps the worst cornerback in the history of the forward pass. Goodbye Anthony Spencer, master of ordinary. Goodbye Martellus Bennett, beacon of underachievement. Goodbye Bradie James, creator of the tackling piggyback ride. Goodbye Keith Brooking, linebacking Bill Bates.

The 2011 Dallas Cowboys season died a cold, wet, miserable death last night in the far-away Meadowlands. But in truth, this franchise has been on life support for a decade and a half. Jerry Jones is the worst GM in football, but he is going nowhere. And because of that, nothing will change.

Perhaps during this quiet time we can spare a special thought and offer our sympathy, our love and our support to Cowboys fans, their families and loved ones -- and most importantly, to Tony Romo. You, sir, are not to blame for any of this. This violent, bloody football death falls directly on the head of one Jerry Jones -- the all-time QB and we're-doing-it-my-way bully of this never-ending disaster called Jerry Jones-brand Dallas Cowboys football.

Rest in peace, 2011 Dallas Cowboys. You will not fool us again in 2012.

Can anyone briefly summarise what went wrong with Uncle Malc's other team this season? I've read that they conceded the highest number of points in the NFL and the most in their franchise history as well as suffering a seemingly cataclysmic ten game losing run.

They did well with a really young team last year but unfortunately most of those players especially their QB regressed. Combine that with bad coaching and not necessarily the invesment the team might have needed ( In terms of attracting quality free agents etc.) and you have the Bucs season.

Further to the answer above, if I remember correctly, they had a load of cap room available at the beginning of the year, and instead of investing it well in free agency, they gave their punter a huge contract for some reason

Tampa's 2010 season was an aberration. They didn't record a single win against an opponent with a winning season in 2010, and lost badly to clubs with winning records. This season they struggled with a tougher schedule and lack of control and inexperience by the coaching staff.

This first Wildcard game has started well, Texans up by 7 at the half, looks like it will go to the wire.

A website called Deadspin just simulated using Madden an all white vs all black team. Made me realise I had never seen a black punter or kicker. They had to use Ochocinco as the kicker.

We Simulated The NFL White Vs. Black Race Bowl On Madden So You Don't Have To

I eagerly await them doing the same with a basketball game

My roommate and I put together an all-white fantasy basketball team once. That didn't end well. The problem wasn't the skill of the players we got as much as it was a lack of depth.

Houston look to have this game won.

Looking forward to Detroit-Saints. Could be a close game. I couldn't believe Stafford threw for 5000 yards and 41TDs, it barely got a mention!

Happy to see some defence on show for once, well done to the Texans.

The safety on Foster's long TD run... Wow. I thought this game would be closer.

Steelers - Pats in the divisional is what I call the worst case scenario.

Great opening drive by Detroit.

Saints will win this. Brees has toyed with the Lions D at times.

dirtiest team in the nfl is now done...love it! no headed to sf. we'll see who survives the nyg/atl game to go to Green Bay.

as a giant fan neither one of these teams will get any further than GB. giants not asking for a measurement , playing offence like a high school team. falcons not using the timeouts. ffs it's win or feck off and both look like they'd be happier golfing

refs are a joke - that was pass interference - should be 14 -2.

I hate being a Falcons fan.

Mike Smith is going to lose his job and deservedly so, just because he hasn't got the balls to fire his buddies and get new coordinators. We are pathetic.

Big defeat for the Falcons. 2pts so far, pathetic.

Looks like everything is coming together for Giants at the right time. Good running game, defence had a decent game, they have a pass rush which can trouble the packers, as well as Eli is throwing well.

Come on Giants :D

took his team out of it. take points in the playoffs when you can get em.

Seems like there wasn't much separating these teams at the beginning of the game, but New York just barely edging out Atlanta on a consistent basis puts a few points on the board and Atlanta just seemed to lose belief in themselves.

Yep. Its was a similar story for the Bengals last night as well.

A few key plays took away all the momentum after it looked like they were in the game.

Broncos up 14-6.

Steelers are so worried about the Broncos running game they keep giving away the big passes. Need to sort themselves out.
