Fantastic win. Only got to see 1.5 quarters but the defence looked up for it and Brady was able to move the ball quite well, although he did have a couple of poor throws from what I saw.

some crazy results yesterday...broncos keep winning, seattle over the ravins?, buffalo disappears, atlanta coach goes brain dead, dream team keeps on dreamin', cleveland is cleveland, sf pulls out another, jets crash, and break up the jaguars.

PACKERS v minn tonight.

GO PACK!!

Packers - Vikings. Go Vikes ;) I'm predicting Packers to win by a score and a fieldgoal, Woodson will get 1 interception and Rodgers will be sacked twice! Let's see if I'm right.

Currently down four TDs and a FG with ten minutes left. I think you vastly overrated the Vikes chances.

Utter dominance. Vikings wasn't the greatest test but I can't see any team in the league stopping Packers' offense even if their defense doesn't show up.

I am really pleased for Rodgers. He had a rough start when he dropped down the draft but he has fulfilled his potential plus some.

In my dreams, Alex Smith beats Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship game and goes on to win the Super Bowl to finally justify not only the fact that he was taken #1 overall but the fact that he was taken over Rodgers. That said Rodgers is an all-around nice guy, so I can't hate him even if I wanted to.

Also with the coaches the 49ers had, he would've had an even rougher start to his career.

Well, that was a terrible game. But by God, the Packers were good. After that start, 3-and-out and then a punt-return for a touchdown, well... I could sort of guess that we might be in for a rough ride. Vikings were terrible offensively and slightly less terrible defensively. Thankfully, I had beer. Hopefully it can only get better from now on.

Looks like he is on course to end up with one of the top three statistical seasons of all time, at least. Obviously league trends and the evolution of the passing game led to bloated numbers for Rodgers, Brady, Manning as opposed to a Marino but its still impressive. I remember Brady having the same, or even better numbers after nine games in 07 but then getting slowed down due to weather and decent defenses like Phi, Bal, Mia and the Jets figuring them out a little bit. I haven’t looked at their remaining schedule but I think he has too many receiving threats, too good an offense and ability on the run to be slowed down too much. Then again, he doesn’t have the benefits of a dome like Manning did, will be interesting to watch.

When asked by reporters if the Jets are the favorite to win the division, Ryan spoke frankly.

"In my mind. I don’t know about everybody else’s. The first year I got in we were supposed to win six games or five games or four games. I don’t know what the experts say, I just know what I believe in my heart and that’s that this is going to be our year. Again, I think we have to find somebody out there to beat New England besides us, and I think that would help. Anybody out there that wants to sign up for it? Are you good enough as a team to beat the New England Patriots. Forget about us, are you good enough to go out and beat the New England Patriots? I’m challenging the league."

Sun, Oct 9 @ New England L 30-21.
Sun, Nov 13 vs New England L 37-16.

Tebowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

plz oh god make them win the superbowl

Sunday footbaaaaall. What a weird drive for the Vikings. 2 personal foul penalties takes them 30 yards upfield with a few good plays by the offence, and then a holding penalty wipes out a touchdown, and they are now 3rd down, 8 to go. The officials screwed up the downs and put 4th, and Vikings had to use a timeout.

Officials correct the mistake and doesn't charge a touchdown. Good reffing. And then on third down, Harvin is tackled by the facemask. Half the distance to the goal, automatic first down. Peterson runs it in. Haha. What a strange drive.

Titans may have lost but I was impressed by their rookie QB, old fashioned passing QB as opposed to Tebow who is the worst QB I have seen to date.

I spent the majority of the second half cursing whoever it was that hurt Matt Hasselback.

Locker was better than I thought he'd be, but that's the case lots of time when young backup QB's come in and the team hasn't really watched any tape on them (mostly because there isn't any).

It shouldn't have even been close, Falcons were unusually shit in the red zone and should have put the game away early.

There was a lot to be positive about, I've been a bit disappointed that the Titans first round pick was used on someone who's seen so little playing time (I know a QB had to be picked because of the lack of FA before the draft). While the worries about his accuracy were on display when he missed a couple of completions by a significant distance, his arm power and throwing ability on the run seem exceptional. He seemed a bit reluctant to run yesterday but in college he showed he was an explosive runner so that's another facet of his game we've really yet to see.

I think assuming Hasslebeck stays healthy he will definitely stay on as starter, and rightly so. But I hope Locker starts getting some snaps because if he just practices on that accuracy he could become a real star.

PS: This is the first season I've committed myself to watching as much NFL and college football as possible so the above comment may be shit.

There are basically 2 schools of thought on blooding rookie QBs - throw them in the deep end and let them sink or swim, or sit them behind a veteran (not expecting to be much better despite the high draft pick) and let them learn the offense and adapt to the NFL.

I've always been a fan of the former, but it really depends on the player. As a Falcons fan, I thought it was a good decision to sit Michael Vick for a year when we drafted him, but I also felt it was right to start Matt Ryan as a rookie.

I've always thought that even at his peak, Hasselback wasn't very good. So in that sense, I'm surprised Locker isn't getting more of a chance early, but I doubt they want to put the team on his shoulders with Chris Johnson playing so awfully. If Johnson were in his form from the past couple seasons, I'm sure they'd be much more willing to give the team to Locker.

only teams with good veteran qbs can afford to sit a high draft pick qb...and if they're drafting high they're not a good team and probably don't have a good qb...so that guy is going to be thrown out there to learn on the fly. Green Bay had that luxury, indy might if manning makes it back.

Add to that, the confidence level of Smith and you have a pretty solid team.

Looking forward to the Lions-Packers game, will be interesting to see if the much talked about Detroit defense can contain and stop Rodgers.

Also the brother vs brother match (Ravens-49ers) ought to be a good game, possibly a superbowl preview?

7-0 Packers lead at HT. Detroit's penalties are not helping them.

Easy win for the packers. Suh is a dick, Rodgers was fantastic again and I think he'll beat Brady's record of most TDs in a season.

I wish someone would just break Ndamukong Suh's leg. Or smash his knee. No place in the game for cnuts like him being so dirty.

if haynesworth got 5 games for his stomping incident, with no history of dirty play, then suh will certainly get at least that considering his dirty-player rep and having already been to the commissioner's office for it and all the fines he's already accrued.

Haynesworth stomped on a guy's unprotected head.
