Nfl 2010-2011

Austin Collie is knocked out, that looks a bad one. Another helmet to helmet hit

Nasty injury, has not moved at all after the hit and is being stretchered off. Hopefully he is ok...

TD Colts. You can question the flag thrown when Collie got hit as it looked as if he had possession of the ball, but 3 good plays by the Colts makes it 16-14.

Took them 10 mins to get Collie off the field, I didn't see him move at all during that time and it looks a really horrible injury. After another helmet to helmet hit, more questions will be asked about the safety of players in the NFL.

collie moved several times. bad call on that hit though. catch...established possession...hit...fumbled. helmet to helmet was incidental and after he took two steps and had already been hit once.

Interception finishes the game off, Eagles win.

Getting ready to watch the first half of the night game. And when the Cowboys are down 14 (which will probably be by the 8:00 mark of the 2nd quarter), I'm switching to the LA Galaxy v Seattle match.

Packers dominate! the boys just aren't as talented as they've been told they are. they're old, slow, dumb, hurt, and bad. no depth because of horrible drafts. bad general manager and coaching. owner has plenty of money and the stadium is nice though.

Ed Reed did not take that much time to get himself back to form after being activated off the PUP list, did he. Two games played and he leads the Ravens in interceptions with three and had decent return yardage after them too. You would think a hip procedure would have more affect on his range and running ability in the open field in his first few games back. What a playmaker.

Depends on the procedure, it's not like he got a new joint like Grandma KeyzerSoze got after falling down the stairs drunk off grain alcohol

had a bit of fun asking two of the Wash DC lads at work "how did the Cowboys do last night?"
neither of them have even visited Texas.

True Alex and NFL players do have the best medical care and rehabilitation methods readily available of course. I’m not at all surprised that he is playing again and recovered, I just expected Reed to take a little bit of time to be himself. Beside the picks I am sure he still has things to improve on. There were other injuries that led to the retirement talk at the end of last season too.

According to Reed etc they did have to reconstruct the hip and it took a while to gain the strength back etc. They took 6-7 inches from his IT band and replaced the torn labrum, which he likely made worse by playing on it. That said, I am not exactly a hip expert.

According to reports it was hip expert Dr Marc Philippon who had previously done procedures on athletes such as Alex Rodriguez. He did his rehab with a separate doctor in Atlanta.

 Phillipon is a hip specialist at the Steadman Clinic

I don’t get what you mean by the laughter, what am I missing?

I know very little about the surgeons etc. Steadman’s the Hargreaves bloke isn’t he?

Yeah I just found it mildly amusing worth one laughie, but instead of laughing in real life I just snickkered

Fantastic win for the Eagles. 5 of our last 8 are in the division though. Could be a tough one.

5 out of those 8 will see us with at least a wildcard I think.

No suprise Phillips' is gone, looked a dead man walking for a few weeks now. Jason Garrett will be interim coach according to SI.com.

Just caught up on the games I recorded on Sky+ yesterday and can’t believe LeRon McLain. Channing Crowder is a renowned cock and trash talker on the field and I enjoyed when Matt Light gave him a beat down last year. However, spitting in another mans face then walking off is as low as it gets.

Now that the Cowboys fans have gotten what they wanted - Wade sacked, let's see how the team performs. He is only partly responsible for the shambles.

Are NFL contracts performance based ? At some point highly paid players need to be forced to take more ownership for the results - both successes and failures.

Meanwhile, how damn consistent are the fecking Steelers. Big Ben misses games, they continue winning, Polamalu misses games, they find a way to win.

Part of them are usually performance based. They usually stack a lot of contracts with a mixture of easy, reasonable, and probably out of reach incentives. However all of this is part of the "nonguaranteed" portion of the contract so if a player gets cut, the team won't have to pay him this part, although I think there is still a salary cap penalty for doing something like that.
