Aikman and the other commentator were talking about Garrett made them practice in pads last week (first time this season) and held players accountable for being late to meetings (locking the door on the precise time). Aikman was shocked these things haven't been enforced under Wade and said this is an indictment on the former coach.
 
I actually heard them talking about that on the NFL network in the week...the players while not publicly dissing Wade, were very up for Garrett.

IRVING, Texas -- The first day on the job is always the hardest and Jason Garrett, the new interim coach of the Dallas Cowboys, had to get through it.

Calling it a day of transition, Garrett set the tone early by asking his players to attend a Wednesday morning meeting at 8:15 a.m., 45 minuets earlier than what former coach Wade Phillips asked.

Garrett also had his team practice in full pads for the first time since training camp and expected an increased tempo. Garrett, who was named the interim coach on Monday after Phillips was fired, was direct and clear in his message to the players. Garrett wouldn't reveal what that message was but several players liked what they heard.

"It was better," cornerback Mike Jenkins said of the overall day. "A different tempo [to practice], something we got to get used to. There was a lot of energy out there today. I think our main thing right now is we got to believe in Jason and his theory in what he's bringing to the table. Anything he asks of us we have to do 100 percent."

I can't remember the last time the Cowboys had so many plays over 20 yards. I think three or four of the longest plays from scrimmage have occurred today. Way to go Gnats! I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
 
Bryant's "catch" overturned but the roughing the passer call still gives the Boys some yards. I don't like that rule personally - he had possession until he hit the ground. A ground can't cause a fumble but it can cause a receiver to lose possession. Should be all the same. Anyhow...

HT Pats lead 10-3. Really good performance by the Pats defence so far, Chung's been brilliant. The offense started well but got sloppy as the half went on, hopefully the rant towards the end of the half gets them re-focused.
