Nfl 2010-2011

I was thinking get the feck in Welker after the score.

I say they put Welker, Edelman and Woodhead in a three wide receiver bunch set, just for fun.

Haha, I thought exactly the same - but for me it was.. Wow, Edelman has been silent today, is he active? 1 catch, 1 Td... O..

Quality special teams today!

They have had their struggles in coverage at times this year but Arrington and the Rook are capable of bringing physicality in run support.

Goddammit Patrick Chung. I hate you so much right now. Took three offensive possessions away. Four yards is all I need.

Edit: My only hope right now is that the Pats will want to run up the score.

Not sure why Brady is getting sucked off...

The Pats were down 7-6 at halftime.

He threw for 150 yards and 1 TD.

The special teams and defense won that game for them, as 3 interceptions, blocked punt and a kickoff return will reflect.

Who said anything about football?

Football or not football. Tom Brady should be getting sucked off. He is after all going to go down as the GOAT QB.

Randy Moss is going to be traded to the Vikings...

Would be a big loss to the Pats, even though the young TE's have emerged, Moss is an elite WR and you only have to look at his TD catch against the Jets to realise how good he is.

SI reporting that "at the minimum, is seeking a 2011 second-round pick in exchange for Moss." Is it better trading Moss now and getting a draft pick, or getting 1-more season out of him and then releasing him??

Talk of them only getting a third round pick for him according to ESPN. Losing Moss just wastes another year of Brady's prime and removes any real chance of them getting to the Superbowl as it will significantly weaken the offence that they are so reliant on now that the defense is so weak

I hate this move. The Vikings will get better with it. We’ll have to endure more Favre mania when he’s slinging 50 yard touchdowns to Moss and the Vikings start winning games. Would he just die already? And of course it happens before they play Dallas. Damn it. I bet Favre drives to the airport to pick up Moss.

Rumor is they could be swinging a deal for Vincent Jackson and thus ready to rid themselves of the Moss cancer. But without an addition like Jackson, I don’t see how the NE offense will be able to generate more than 21 pts ppg. They’ll have no deep threat. Opposing defenses will focus on eliminating Welker by bringing a DB to the box instead of having to drop one deep to cover the CB covering Moss. I doubt Brady will approve of this but Belicunt is an arrogant SOB and probably thinks they can win without him. Well yeah they can – if the D and ST are scoring 1-3 tds every game!

I guess Moss is just being too much of a disruption behind the scenes. As for Farve slinging toouchdowns to him, don't worry, he'll sling just as many to opposition CBs to even things up.

Hmm, convoluted rant time. Not totally surprised with this one to be honest, as soon as the rumours started circling yesterday afternoon, I thought it would get done. He reportedly asked for a trade after the press conference meltdown, did not start against the Bills (played a high number of snaps though) and went without a catch against the Dolphins. It's obvious that all was not right behind the scenes and it’s always better to sort issues like these out sooner rather than later. I’m a bit surprised they did not squeeze a bit more from the Vikings and hope Moss goes on to further success, there is no doubt he can still be a difference maker. Looking forward to when the Patriots play them later on in the year.

With the bye, the timing is as good as it would ever be during the season and the offense will have to evolve. Since the end of last season a lot of fans have been harping on about the days when Brady used to find someone like David Givens on his third or fourth read instead of risk/reward Moss plays, I guess they get their wish. Either Tate or Price (a long shot at this point) will have to evolve as an occasional deep threat and the tight ends will have to continue to impress. Two or more tight ends have been on the field for 160 of the 248 snaps (64.5 percent) so far which is a change from last year and in my mind, linked to way the Ravens shut down Moss and gave them a beat down at the line of scrimmage. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out without him.

Now, about that defense…

I'd be very disappointed if I was a pats fan, it is the ultimate bean counter move, and it really hurts their chances of going deep this year, all because they want a 3rd round draft pick. Hmmm would you rather go deep in the playoffs and possibly win the SuperBowl or have a 3rd round draft pick???

They weren't going to win the Superbowl this year anyway, they'll get beat by all of the elite teams like last year. I'm disappointed but it's not the end of the world.

It's a done deal - third round draft pick :(

I really hope Belichick has lined up Vincent Jackson

He does not need him nor Vincent Jackson for that matter. The Pats wants to get back to dink and dunk to consume time to give their defense time on the bench for on the job training. With Moss, they were very good and dangerous and will score quickly. The problem is that their defense is young, inexperience and this makes them stay on the field for far too long. If you don't throw to Moss, he will complain. He will not settle as a decoy for the rest of the season.
The only thing he knows is to run vertical routes. You can't not game plan time consuming drives with vertical receivers like Moss.
Belichick wants to buy time for his defense, he has got a pretty good collection of players out there and they need time to gel, to trust each other, to understand their roles for all sorts of formation. Against Bills, the Pats were scoring on the average every 3 mins of offense. So within a few minutes, the defense comes back again without any adjustments sinking in from the bench. They stay on the field for about 38 mins. This gases them, makes them look weaker than they are.
Look at the type of drives they implemented against the Dolphins. They gases that defense up. That is going to be the way forward. Actually, Tom Brady is going to be back to his efficient self. I like this move.

Interesting thought championo maybe they should trade Brady and just run the ball on every play.

I’m only willing to trade Brady if it means Vince Wilfork running the Wildcat and occasional end arounds.

Instant big man offense, only for the grown and sexy.

All I am saying is that, Brady has never been the deep ball thrower. He is so -so. Brady's type of recievers are like Deion Branch type, they stretch the field for about 40 Yards. When they get into the end Zone, they use Tight ends to score, or run it in. I am talking about Pats football from 2003 to 2004. That defense was good, but they were hardly on the field, Brady was just dinking and dunking.

Are you kidding? Brady throws a great deep ball

No he does not friend. Are you a Pats fan? I have been following Brady for a long time. Maybe all you see are espn reels. He is very accurate within 40 yards. Anything beyond that is just a jump ball and Randy in 2007 will not make that an int. But now all the jumps balls to Randy were becoming Ints. Randy was not happy, he was not really going after the balls, in addition, his skills are not what the Pats need right now.

Anyway, which Brady are you thinking about? Brady from 2007? Or Brady from 2001 to 2006?

I'd consider 40 yards to be deep. Then again I've been watching Alex Smith for 6 years.

40 yards is a deep ball how often does a QB throw a 60 yard pass in a game other than hail marys
