Nfl 2010-2011

Brady looks far more comfortable throwing this year than he did last year.

It's obviously early both in this game and the season as a whole but I think it's safe to say he is further along from the knee injury. That's both physically and mentally, after an off-season spent preparing himself for the rigours of the season rather than in rehab. His little movements in the pocket under pressure are what make him a great player not the fancy long throws. Did you see the way he sunk his hips on the first drive with Kyle Wilson closing in?

Just for the record, I dont think Moss will leave this season..

But I dont think that Hernandez will move out either way. Hes very good at being a TE, and gets into space well after showing block initially most of the time (in pre season anyway).

Hes an option, in the way that Watson was, but Tate would fill Moss' size 17's if he was to get injured I think. Can you imagine a Wide out pair of Edelman and Welker? Hehe...

What do you make of Hernandez KeyserSoze?

This is the 1st time I've seen him play and he seems to be more of a WR the way he catches the ball and can get big yards after the catch as well. Do you think he could be a genuine WR if Moss was to leave next season, or will they keep him as a TE option (the way Witten or Dallas Clark are receiving TEs for their teams)?

He looks good and is definitely the H-Back type as opposed to the traditional tight end the Gronk is. Training camp reports in terms of their effort as a whole in learning the system and spending extra time with the QB's etc is paying off so far. As for the WR thing, I would wait until teams start covering him differently and see how he reacts. Moss taking the top off the defense and altering coverage is a big part of the room the other players have.

No I'm definitely not getting on any Vick bandwagons just yet...but it was nice to see someone who was electric and erratic in equal measures display something close to his best again.

He makes watching football fun, sure watching Manning and Brady audible at the line, check receivers, and throw perfect passes at the last second is fun, but so is, unpredictable crazy football.

He's essentially a video game QB. There isn't a more exciting player in the league when he plays like he did today, or in the second half last week.

It will be interesting to see how he does with a good receiving corp for once, instead of a group of journey men, inexperienced youngsters, and Alge Crumpler (who hasn't been anywhere near as productive since).

There's a lot about Vick's game that I would absolutely love for Alex Smith to pick up. Sometimes when Vick drops back he'll quickly scan the field and see there's nothing there and immediately make the decision to take off and get as many yards as he can. It's just snap, scan, feck it, go.

Maybe he only gets five yards or so, but if your running back averaged five yards a carry, you'd be thrilled. Most importantly he gets first downs and moves chains to keep drives alive. Reminds me of Jeff Garcia in his prime. Ugly as feck as a passer but damn he could get a first down when you needed it.

Three or four times against the Seahawks on third down, Smith bootlegged to the right and had open space in front of him and decided to lob the ball to someone a little further down the field and if he had just ran for the chains he would've kept the drive alive.

Sanchez looking very good at the moment. Pats defence doesn't look like it can stop the Jets from scoring.

LT's been explosive today, vintage performance.

Edit: Jets up 21-14. They're bullying the Pats. no.28 CB.

Clay Matthews has had a great start to the season.

The Packers as a whole have had a great start, barring Grant's injury. It's easy to see why they're being billed as genuine Superbowl contenders because there's so many weapons for Rodgers to throw to in Driver and Jennings (two of the best, most understated receivers in the league) and a true beast of a Tight End in Finley, while Jackson and Kuhn are solid enough to replace Grant on the running side of things. The defense speaks for itself and has started where it left off last season (I'm pretending last years wildcard playoff didn't happen).

Another interception by the Jets, Pats have been shit the second half, both offensively and defensively.

Tough interceptions. I don't mind the first one so much as you have to take those shots from time to time but Moss could have approached the second one differently. He is obviously capable of that kind of grab though as shown on the touchdown.

Butler's been really poor, teams will target him as the Jets have done and the Pats will give up big plays.

Edit: another pass interference penalty against him

Jets have got this now. Don't like to admit it, but we are rattled, no rhythm, no composure - fecks sake. I hate the jets. I fecking hate Rex Ryan.

Jets with another TD.

Pats have been shocking the second half, Jets and Sanchez have looked good. If Jets hold on for the win, which seems likely, I can see Rex Ryan harping on about it all week...

All fecki season more like. And his belly will wobble for as long when he jumbos in celebration.

Pass Interference call against Jets saves the Pats drive. Still 5 mins to go...

It has been a tough game as expected, its important that they hold them at home like last year now. Back to the drawing board for Butler, the talent is there but he is thinking too much instead of using his athleticism to make plays on the ball. I still think he will build on the promise he showed last year in time.

fecking piece of piss. Rex Ryan, Surely he's due a heart attack? Whole team has ballsed it up this half.

Jets win. Sanchez showed a lot of maturity as the game went on, LT put in a good performance and the Jets defense played a lot better the 2nd half, even without Revis.

Pats became worse and worse as the game went on. Moss had a brilliant TD catch but did little else, I don't think Welker caught anything in the 2nd half, and the running game was almost non-existent. Butler was targeted by the Jets and the defense as a whole was poor. Brady started the game brilliantly, but went cold after that, although Hernandez looks a real talent at TE.

Atleast it's nice to hear Favre threw 3 picks today, bet he wishes he stayed home. Now I hope Peyton and his boys get ripped apart by Eli...

Dont forget a fumble that was returned for a TD

Why didn't the Pats use their timeouts and try get a TD/onside kick to follow??

I guess Belicheck thought the offense was drained after the no-show in the second half, so an unlikely TD-OnsideKick-TD was impossible in that situation. Also there was some farce with the officials flag on the floor and then they decided to take 12 more seconds off the clock. Basically, it would've delayed the inevitable if the Pats had called the time-outs.

Still, its an awful attitude to not try it. The Titans and the Lions both got last minute touchdowns, and recovered the following onside kicks earier today. Bit shit to not even attempt it.

I just assumed my maths was wrong, otherwise we would have gone for it. I was right though, awful attitude.

The Jedi Master was always going to school the apprentice.

It's so funny how much shit, Favre and P Manning get on here, they both are top 5 QBs all time, and they are just fecking awesome, you know I think the Favre circus isnt fully of his making its more the media, he isnt parading around in NY in the offseason, he is living with his family in Mississippi...that said I do tire of it, it is good that this is his "last" year :)

I liken Favre to Roger Clemens...both are without doubt hall of famers, and accomplished a ton in their careers, but in the end both are cnuts.

There is nothing wrong with that, not like either of them are losing any sleep over what I think.

24-7 now

At least it won't be a shutout..

Clemens was a cheater, he was great before it now doubt, but he used performance enhancers, to Favre's credit although though also a drug addict it was to opiods, not steroids. They are both cnuts, the thing is the Broncos beat the Packers in the Super Bowl, so I have such good memories of the game, I will also have a very small for Favre, Master meant Master that day, and the Helicopter beat the drug addict

Rex Ryan can't talk all he likes though. He gets that fat person wheeze after a couple of minutes.
