I hope they don't. Did you see Bradys, Belichick and Welkers faces and eyes at the end of the game. We got demons from this game tonight, and rightly so.

Hope we get a chance to exorcise them at some point this season.

CFL was established before the NFL as a professional status, and is just as old as the American game, so the roots are there.

The game style itself is entertaining, but the talent on display is lackluster.

The only reason he seems to be enhanced in reputation is the fact these Saints are doing so well... And this is coming from a Falcons fan, it kills me to appreciate a Saint QB, but since 2004 he's been a great QB, and I think last year he became elite.

I don't understand how one can't look at Drew Brees and not appreciate or actually honor him with what he deserves, and that's mention amongst the greats in this game, currently, and who knows... all-time?

The play calling was fecked up again. Why would you not kick a field goal from the 15 yard line with around 10 min left in the game to cut the lead down to 11 ? Going for a 4th and 4 is silly with that much time left on the clock.

If they had kicked the FG, they would have still had a chance with 5:38 to go and just 2 TD behind. But they were 17 behind instead and it was a 3 possession game.

NO were unstoppable so no playcalling was going to make that game any different than it already was.

He's certainly getting closer. I guess these guys don't want to credit him too highly because he's not necessarily doing this in pressure-packed situations (especially today when his receivers have been inexcusably wide open), which is certainly understandable.

To say he's had one good season is a bit harsh I think. He's been playing well every year he's been a Saint and it's been the defense that has failed them in the past couple years. His reputation was enhanced years ago and took another jump this year, deservedly or not. He seems to be playing just as well as he always had to me, although maybe he's getting more possessions this year since the defense is playing so much better. He's certainly in the top tier in my book. Maybe you can put him at the bottom of the top tier if you want to if you want to say he isn't clutch. Whether that falls into your definition of elite I don't know but it's certainly close for me.
 
I just watched the Bills-Jets game from last night and Darrelle Revis held an in form Terrell Owens to 3 catches for 31 yards, in man to man coverage the majority of the time. He also had a game sealing pick when covering him deep down the field: Link. As much as I hate to admit it due to the team he plays for I think this guy is the best corner in football. Maybe it’s just because I watch every game in the AFC East in full, while I’m less likely to watch the Raiders (Asomugha) or Packers (Woodson) etc but still.

I guess what I’m asking is what do you guys think about him in comparison to players in your respective teams divisions etc or players you see on a regular basis? Is he really that good and is there such thing as a true 'shutdown corner' in the NFL today, or is it simply good team defense? This is the production of opposing top quality receivers in other games this year, I have only seen him get flat out beat once and that was by Ted Ginn Jr.

An in form TO, the guy doesnt have the speed he used to, Revis is good though no doubt about it

Its amazing how Woodson is doing this year, loved his celebration when he ran one back v OSU back in like 97' it was like just give the lad the trophy
 
As entertaining as this Arizona - Minni game is tonight, the real game is tommorow night.

Baltimore and Green Bay both hold playoff implications in their hands... a Green Bay win, and the playoffs are starting to form in the NFC... but if they lose to Baltimore, it keeps Atlanta in it, and actually puts in a shaky spot.

Baltimore is showing up, I like them, they could be a big player in the post-season
 
Rooting for Dallas I now know what it must feel like to be a Liverpool fan and to every year have high expectations only to watch them melt before your eyes. And against rival clubs you just fecking despise (Eagles, Giants, Steelers, Packers, etc.).

It's going to come down to the last game of the season between the Eagles and the Cowboys for all the marbles. The remaining fixtures for both teams are tough. Giants may sneak in to win the division if their fixtures are easier.
 
As a result of Minni's slip against Arizona, i've concluded that anyone in the NFC has a chance... but they'll have to go through NO.
 
Really? I think if Baltimore win tonight and make the playoffs, they're my pick to turn some heads.

I don't think the AFC is as sure fire.
 
It isn't. Indy are never as good in the post season and for me they've had all the luck they're gonna have already.
 
Some of the top teams aren't doing well against teams with winning records - they're feasting on the shit teams. Baltimore is 6-5 so a loss drops them to 6-6 and takes a win/loss away from some teams.

Minnesota is 3-2 against teams over .500 (BAL loss 2-2 [beat BAL])
New Orleans is 3-0 (going against the trend)
Dallas is 1-4 (horrible)
Arizona is 3-1
Philadelphia is 1-3 (and lost to Dallas!)
Green Bay is 1-3 (only win vs Dallas)

New England is 1-3 (BAL loss 0-3 [beat BAL])
Cincinnati is 3-1 (BAL loss 1-1 [beat BAL 2x])
Indianapolis is 4-0 (BAL loss 3-0 [beat BAL])
San Diego is 3-2 (BAL loss 3-1 [lost BAL])
Denver is 5-2 (BAL loss 5-1 [lost BAL])
Jacksonville is 0-2

Baltimore is 2-5 but this goes away if they lose tonight

Its all about home field. If Indy get it, as it looks they will, they will be hard to beat in the Dome. Same with the Saints.
