know he was but so is Neymar, have you not seen some of the things Neymar has done this season ?

You want a clear example of how a mediocre player can be elevated just by playing for the top dogs of the league? Look at Moise Kean.
I just can't take that league seriously sorry.

I can't take you serious if you call Neymar a mediocre player and comparing him to Moise Kean....
Just agree to disagree.

Football is about more than just talent, it's like Pogba didn't happen at all here
Of course not, it's about passion and love for the badge.

Thankfully this won't happen. Only reason he'd be coming here is for a pay day. Can't see him having the necessary drive to succeed, plus he's injured all the time and a gigantic bellend to boot.

I'm talking about the team that Neymar plays for. They can literally breeze past any team in second gear there. So it's easy for him to do whatever the hell he wants - showboating, phoning it in, misteriously getting injured every year just before his sisters' bday....

Imagine going from Sancho Rashford Antony to Neymar Kane Rashford.

We’ll finally get to witness attackers who can actually score and assist. Imagine that.

Messi's available too. Ronaldo doesn't seem too happy in Saudi Arabia.

Neymar --- Ronaldo --- Messi

Would be nice to bring Neymar on for a goal. He might not play a lot be he scores nearly every other game he plays.

Ffs - 32 year old injury prone winger who has spent his prime years fannying around in a semi-pro league. Absolutely fecking not.

Probably not the sensible forward-planning signing we should be aiming for as part of our rebuild.

That said, feck me, I would love to see him line up for us for a season. Some absolutely mad takes in this thread about his ability and attitude, can only assume they are just parroted assumptions more than anything. Only reasonable concern I would have is his availability, otherwise an absolutely supremely supremely gifted player, to suggest otherwise is baffling.

Neymar is always injured when it matters

The only exception was the 2020 season and PSG went to the UCL final with Neymar as easily the best player in the QF and SF

Even with this, I don’t get what PSG want from a loan…

At this point, only Newcastle or saudi arabia can save PSG

That's a myth.

There's no link at all beiween those annual injuries and his sisters birthday.

Just bad timing and bad luck or maybe good timing and good luck for him and maybe for her.

The sister's birthday thing I respect so much. We praise footballers for having a slavish dedication to their career way too much. Neymar is a work-life balance king and he should be celebrated for it.

How many times did he actually play on the week following his sister's birthday in the last 10 years?
Since arriving at PSG in 2017, he's been unavailable early march four times, two of which being 90 days absences for straight-up fractures and the latest one projected for 130 days with an actual surgery.

You are living in a fantasy world if you give any credence to the Neymar's sister meme. Bridges to sell and all that stuff.

I can understand reservations about his injury and fitness but some of the takes on here from people who quite clearly don't watch other league, consider them as "farmer leagues" and don't seem to realize our attack comprises of Sancho, Antony, Martial and Wout, are absolutely staggering.

While I love the Neymar sister meme format and do believe he would actually find a way to not miss her birthday while at Barcelona, he's had several serious injuries at PSG so it's just that, a coincidence.

Would be a mistake but if the Qataris are buying us this is the type of statement they'll want to make unfortunately. We'll be linked with a few PSG players I imagine, Mbappe would be impossible with the contract he's on of course.

Unfortunately many on here won't be happy with Mbappe given the league he performs in.

Disappointing.

Its incredible isnt it.

Those 4 have a combined 40 Goals and Assists in around 8300 minutes. VS Neymar who has 35 Goal involvements in 2600 minutes.

Looking at those numbers you could argue he should be paid the equivalent salary of at least 3 of them.

Injurys is the only thing that should put us off him.

There was an Mbappe thread a while ago. There were a lot of people who wouldn't sign him.

Those same people then complain about our failing attack.

Neymar has been the most underrated player on here for years. Nothing new.

His injury record is of course a major concern. A loan deal with us not covering the entirety of his wages has no downside and so much upside. But it's likely a silly rumor anyways.

I thought we had all agreed these types of glamour signings do not work for Utd.

It's sort of like Kerry Katona or Katie Price offering you the ride.

I mean, it'd probably be wild, but ultimately it'd leave you with more problems than you had beforehand.

Is that directed towards the people being okay with Neymar potentially coming or the people being against him?

More a general statement honestly, as far as Neymar goes I can certainly see both sides of an argument for or against him. But saying things like “he’s another lazy attacker” when Neymar is basically the only one of that front 3 that ever demonstrated any sort of work rate off the ball is hilarious

Can see it now. He walks into the dressing room to meet the players.

Rashford: Yo Neymar sunny innit?

As its pissing out the heavens.

This makes no sense for anyone but PSG…which means this is just crap being peddled by them.

He’s a quality player but miles away from anything to get excited about anymore…
