Neymar

You can tell the people that don't actually watch him from the 'lazy' stereotype. Not actually sure where that came from tbh, he's a lot more of a hard worker than Mbappe for example.

I'd rather have Mbappe on one leg though.

The refs in this country would take great pleasure in watching various cloggers boot him all over the shop. That's not to say he's not a prolific diver and playactor

He's stupidly talented though and he'd light up this league, if you could gaurantee he'd be fully commited to the team I'd love to see him in our shirt

This makes no sense on any level but at the same time, holy feck my body is ready to see Neymar play for United.

Yeah this for me too. Neymar would absolutely light up Old Trafford for however long he remained interested. On loan - why not?

One of my favourite players to watch playing for another club, just not mine. I can’t honestly question his effort or application because he is a very hard working player. His injury record might make him a risky one.

His off pitch drama doesn’t bother me in all honesty. I just want us to stay away from superstar signings the next two windows.

Don't be silly.

Obviously not literally but my word we have a lot of people on here who play too much FIFA.

Neymar in this current Utd team doesn't scream a happy marriage at all.

Where would we even play him? As far as I can tell he's best at number 10 and we have Bruno there who is more than good enough and is our captain.

We need bloody striker not another square peg for a round hole.

Is he still at his best while playing left wing or has he been moved more centrally?

Our contract talks with Rashford at a stall? And PSG wanting to make Neymar part of a deal?

Anywhere in the 3 behind the striker, obviously striker should be the number 1 priority but If we do go for Neymar he'd be in addition to a striker not instead of a striker.

Neymar is still one of the best players in the world, he does have a dodgy injury record recently but anyone that says he's not top 5/ top 10 in the world quite simply don't watch him play.

People are outraging about this like we're throwing in a 50m fee for him. Reports are suggesting a loan and us supporting PSG with the wages. That is an amazing deal with absolutely no downside, helps us bring in an insanely creative and productive player who can beat his man for fun, all at a low price. It also helps us deploy our probably meager funds where needed. Neymar as a 10 could also really exploit Rashfords runs in behind given his elite play making.

Dont understand all these "on loan a no brainer", maybe I have it wrong but isnt he on about £900k a week, so its absolutely we are throwing £50m at him, for just a year as well.

Thik the negativity towards him is due to the leaving Barcelona to chase the money (hardly the first, just look at some of the wonderful players have left Barcelona after just a seaso for a better contract, some of the worlds best ever players, better than Neymar) and for all the histrionics of diving on the pitch.

But as a player, find it baffling the criticims of him being lazy and not worth it. This is the only Brazilian in well over a decade that has been anywhere near the levels of the 3 R's. There are some great young ones comign though and Viniscus is really turning into a player now. WOuld I rather we were investing less in salary and fee combined in some of the big young talents comig through and tur them into stars, for sure, thre seems to be a lot of SOuth AMerican talent coming through, we have already missed out on a few like McALlister, Caicedo, Paez, Enxo Fernandez....but even at this point in his career, Neymar would be one of the best players in the league for sure. People said Cavani would flop at his age here, and wotn deny was concerned about his injury record, but he had been one of the best strikers i Europe for a decade, Neymar is a level above him.

If the salary we pay for him by loan doesnt affect our transfer budget (and considerig a couple of end of contracts and a few big salaries possibly off the books it doesnt have to), I would not be against Neymar coming....I mean one year older, maybe culturally and premiership proven he isnt.....but in ways it makes more sense than £80-90m on Kane, he is only a year older after all

I'm all for it but why would Psg even want to loan him with no obligation. The deal doesn't favour them

Gets some of his wages off the books and gets him out of the club I guess. Theres been rumours of PSG wanting to refocus their approach recently and getting rid of Neymar is probably a step in that direction.

Did Mbappe agree to the refocus?

Why are so many people wanting Neymar to United? His best position is a left sided attacker and we already have Rashord who isn't much good anywhere else, Garnacho who is having a break through season and Sancho who is still young and hopefully picks it up next year.

United do this all the time, lured in by a big name. Stacking up on position we are fine with and ignoring the big holes in the squad.

Aside from that, Neymar's also has a reputation for being a party animal, constantly injured and just generally a unlikable diving t**t.

Often played up front for Brazil and I know Kane is a physical presence that Neymar isnt, but modern Kane plays (hate usig these terms) more like a false 9 nowdays as he drops deep so often, as good as he has been a little too often for me, especially for England, so would he actually be much different outside of the box to Kane anyway in terms of positioning and mvoement?

Looks like there might be something in this. On a permanent deal I’d say steer well clear, but a loan? Could be smart business.

I'd much rather watch an on loan Neymar than an on loan Weghorst again. Maybe we'd score some goals then even if he only plays 20 matches. We're not doing any better till the takeover is complete anyways.

13 goals and 11 assists in 20 matches is still world class productivity.

Is he still at his best while playing left wing or has he been moved more centrally?
He doesn't play winger anymore. Even when he starts on the left he often stays inside or cuts inside.
He's been playing more like a play maker. His managers always let him play with a lot of freedom.

A loan deal with us not covering the full wages has limited downside to be honest. He's still an amazing player despite the injury concerns.

Still doubt PSG would let him go on a loan.

Turning up our noses at Neymar… how many goals have we scored this season?

The same people vehemently against this potential loan move are the same people who defend the Weghorst loan move.

Make it make sense.

The same people vehemently for this move are the same people who were vehemently for the Sanchez transfer.

This is fun.

Wages too. He must be on more than anyone at our club right now as well.

We don't need another circus either. We just got rid of two.
