MUFC is one of the top 10 most attractive clubs in Europe and one of the 5 European clubs able and ready to acquire players whose market value is superior to 60 millions.

I really don't understand the widespread pessimism here.

We might not get in CL this year, and there's uncertainty about our manager next season.

I would love for us to get him, as part of a 4-3-3 with Martial & a new RW/Inside Forward.

But unfortunately we're not in the best position to attract Balon D'or calibre players, there's of course a chance (Bayern don't need him/unlikely to pay that much, he isn't going to go to Madrid or any other La Liga team, Chelsea aren't in CL or Europe at all next season, Arsenal won't pay that much for a player)
So it's between Us, City & PSG as the most realistic options should he decide to move on.

Lolz.. Neymar and Yaya Toure's agent (or family in Neymar's case) are really trying hard to get him mega bucks from Barca. Always keep linking him to big clubs and try to get more money.
I wont be surprised if Barca is paying them under the table to keep them quiet.

United fans are the most pessimist bunch of fans. But I don't think we've a chance of signing him, especially with the likes of Luis and Silva and no FFP, think you guys will sign him.

Not that it'll happen, but people suggesting he wouldn't be worth going for are insane.

Its more because people don't see Barca letting him go . If he was truly available, we have a pretty good chance.

Such breathtaking arrogance..via ESPN

Instead of complaining they were cut out of that deal, Santos and third-party investors DIS should be happy to have received anything at all, Bartomeu suggested.

"We always want kids to arrive free," he said. "Neymar's contract with Santos ended in 2014, so we would not have to negotiate with Santos.
We reached an agreement with his father 'If Neymar ends up free, we want him to come to Barcelona, and we will pay money to the family.' But our coach [then Tito Vilanova] wanted Neymar before.

"Santos should be very happy that our coach wanted Neymar quicker [as] that way they got money for him. If he had come after the World Cup, Santos would not have got anything. Not Santos, not DIS, nobody. Barca fulfilled all its commitments."

Why is D I S filtered on here?

Barca has no say if the €193m release clause is met. It's a matter of convincing the player

Neymar’s agent: “He loves Paris.”

Speaking in a interview with L’Équipe, Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro confirmed that his client could be interested in a move from Barcelona to PSG.

PSG are said to have a plan to sign Neymar this summer. Can you confirm that?

What I can confirm to you, is that Neymar has a contract with Barca until 2018. He is loved over there and he is playing for the best team in the world. It does not mean nothing to play for such an enormous club. But being able to live in a city like Paris and to play for a club like PSG, that is also a dream for every player. We will see between now and in two years time, when he will be out of contract.

What does that mean? Not today, but maybe tomorrow?

It means that if PSG show an interest for Neymar, we can discuss it. He could also be released from his contract should his release clause be paid.

How much is it?

Enormous! 193 million Euros! But I do not think that it will pose an insurmountable problem for PSG.

So you have discussed a possible transfer?

I get on well with Olivier (Letang – PSG Sporting Director), with Nasser (Al Khelaifi – PSG President) too. But, for the moment, we have not discussed all that. We are at the heart of the season, the Champions League is coming, and PSG still have something to play for. It is therefore certainly not the moment. The priority is the Champions League. We will discuss at the end of the season.

Does Neymar know Paris? Could he see himself living there?

He has already played at the Parc des Princes, at the Stade de France too. He loves Paris, it is a magnificent town… And then, he has a good guide in the form of Lucas. At the time, Lucas had a better offer from Manchester United. PSG was less strong, but the city made the difference. Lucas is putting pressure on us for Neymar to join him. He does not stop saying: “Come to play in Paris, we will enjoy ourselves.” They know each other since they were little. They played together for the Brazil U17s.

What will he do this summer? Play in the Copa America or in the Olympics?

In both! He will take some days off between competitions. The Olympic Games are the most important, he wants to win the gold medal, which would be unchartered territory for the Brazilian national team. We will negotiate with Barca, who have asked him to choose between the two competitions. But Neymar has decided, he wants to play in both of them.

Can PSG also gift things to his family, his uncles and do things what Barca did to get him?

 "He loves Paris", I knew it.I guess that before the summer someone of his entourage will enlarge the auction saying "he always liked english football","Mourinho is a winner..." .Some days ago a periodist in Spain said that his father has convinced him to go to France since with Messi he never would win ballon d'or.
I also read that Florentino has used the same strategy, saying to his father that in Madrid would win the trophy in a year.
With all respect to PSG I think that they need more investment in the league and some domestic rival with money. At present they can't influence individual trophies.
Anyway AS write today that the family want to denounce Wagner Ribeiro

Yea, feck off, just be honest and say the money you can rinse out of PSG is a dream for every player.

I can't stand these agents who act like they're the stars themselves or, at best, charismatic impressarios. Some of them go as far as using 'I' istead of 'he' when talking about their clients.

If he goes to PSG, his potential legacy of being one of the worlds best will be in tatters in my opinion.

In order to be put in the same bracket as the likes of Ronaldo / Messi etc, he should want to play in the top leagues, challenging himself against top opponents and dominating the matches against the likes of Athletico etc.

Going to PSG and playing in the French league will be like me playing against my 5 year old. Guaranteed victory every time but the 7-0 thrashing somehow doesn't feel as good as tougher victory against my 7 year old.

It's debatable who is less relevant much credible, Wagner or Guillem Balague

I imagine they live in a different world, full of smarmy backslapping and constantly talking about how much money they're making on a deal.

 Neymar desperately needs a new agent, unless he wants just more money than he already has. What a clown.

50m a year.....isn't that about 900k a week? I highly doubt that to be true.

Surely there's a rule somewhere that is being broken by wages that high? Can't be true.

....but MD is very reliable. :nervous:

If that's true he would be stupid to not take it, that is unbelievable money.

Yeah, but potentially will ruin his career. Party boy Brazilians are known to take that exact route.

From what I've been hearing about Neymar, his agent/family they seem to be all about the €€, wont be suprised if PSG have made them a head turning offer

Million a week? How the feck can it ever be funded by club revenue and thus be within FFP?

What a load of nonsense. It's nothing more than PSG swinging their dick around again as they try to feel like they're part of the elite. Neymar will sign a new contract with Barcelona.

Joey Barton thinks he's a showpony. And Joey Barton speaks much better French than Neymar.
