Neymar was due to visit China for a sponsorship tour on 31st July. That programme is cancelled and the organizer of it has posted a message on Weibo(China's version of twitter) that they'll refund the tickets and Neymar couldn't make it as he's working on a transfer.

The translation:

Dear users, we are sorry to announce that the Meetup event with Neymar scheduled for July 31 in Shanghai will be canceled due to Neymar and his team are currently working on a transfer, and cannot promise to be there in Shnaghai. Therefore we have canceled the event.

Because this event has been canceled, we are giving a full refund to everyone who has bought a ticket.

Once again we apologise for the cancellation of the event.

Yep this is a tweet confirming the same. Looks like Neymar to PSG is very close.

How many wrote this off like the big time "we are football world veterans" internet charlies they are as a payrise play in the first ten pages?

Di Marzio was right. Again.

Who the hell does this guy think he is? We've had players three times better than him at the club. The sooner he goes the better.

It was an open training session, so it looks like pre planned stunt just to kick up a fuss and making him staying impossible.

You'll struggle big time finding a player as talented as Neymar. Coutinho is nowhere near the level and Hazard ain't coming. In the end your team is weaker than before, can't understand why anyone would be happy with that.

Why is he acting like a cnut if it's all down to PSG paying his clause? Does he really believe they'll let him go for cheaper if he starts being even more annoying?

Hope he goes to France and absolutely smashes it. His end of season highlight reel will be the best ever on YouTube.

Damn, so is this really happening? PSG taking revenge for the 6-1. Not only will it give them a better crack at the CL but it will weaken Barca. Makes Real strong favorites for the title again.

How long before news leaks out about the payments made directly to Neymar and family to secure the signature? They must be pocketing a fortune on the deal.

He might as well leave. Barca fans have turned on him based on their board anyway.

Apparently his father is now asking for the continent of Asia and the return of teletext.

Will it really weaken Barca though? They'll have almost £200 million to play with and could drop that on Liverpool and Dortmund for Coutinho and Dembele. That would arguably make them stronger. Or they could use most of it to try and get Mbappe. Either way, as good a player as Neymar is, I think Barca would be mad not to take that kind of money for him.

Whilst you're right about them being stupid not to take the money, there's probably no player in football that can replace what he could have been to Barca at his peak, which is still to come. With messi out the team, we got the perfect insight into how good he can be, as the focal point for a whole season he'll win several ballon d'ors, he's that good. Every generation since as far back as I've researched had at least one Brazilian who was unarguably one of the top 3-5 players in the world, and Neymar is this generations. Replacing him simply can't happen, no matter how much they reinvest. One of a kind commodity

Indeed. Having seen Coutinho every week, Barcelona are severely weakened. Maybe Dybala, Verratti and Coutinho could be a useful use of the funds

Neither Coutinho nor Dembele can compete with the best players in the world. Neymar can as evidenced by his Balon D'or 3rd place. You cant just replace world class quality with numbers.

Crazy, went from PSG seemingly losing their best player to Barca after being bullied into being forced to let him leave, to them stealing Mr. next Balon D'Or winner not named Messi or Ronaldo, from Barca in return.

He's going to waste his career in that terrible league.

Shame really as he has amazing talent.

The Dembele hype is getting out of hand. He's an excellent young winger but he isn't elite level as of yet. People are already grouping him together with the best in the game which is ridiculous to me.
He may be world class in a few years but we thought the same about Reus, Wilshere etc

It's such a shame that we can't compete for the likes of this guy. The PL needs the absolute top tier players one day.

While Coutinho and Dembele are good, Neymar is a class above them. Neither of them are capable of the game changing performances Neymar puts in. Example being the 6-1 game where he absolutely tore PSG apart.

Barca's midfield and defense is nothing to write home about if we discount an aging Iniesta. They mainly rely on their forwards. Real in comparison have a much more rounded squad. You could argue Modric too is getting on in age, but he's been sensational as well.

You're so right. Neymar

As I like to say, there is a market for 99.99999% of the players and a market for 4-5 crazy players!

In the trivial market, PSG has never spent more than 65m for a player (Cavani, Angel Di Maria).

In the crazy market, I just need to copy paste a picture:

Wonder if trying to snatch Veratti played the part in Neymar's move to PSG, should it happen. They've threatened Barcelona to trigger Messi's clause once, haven't they?

@Arbitrium Neymar is a good reason for you and girlfriend to come back to Paris ;)

Mate, she tried a €120,000 ring on in Paris and is adamant she wants it one day. I'm staying as far away from that place as possible for the foreseeable future

This is what my mate assumed. I asked him "why did PSG even bid? did he express an interest?" He suggested that PSG are pulling "boss maneuvers" due to Barcelona often unsettling their players, thus they are flexing their might.

Really hope this happens because I think it'll give Woodward and Mourinho a massive kick up the arse...

It'll bother Woodward that the world transfer fee has been utterly obliterated, and it'll remind the board that it IS possible to sign genuinely elite players in their prime right now.

PSG signing Neymar while we're scampering after fecking Perisic and players like Dier - it's a huge, huge gulf, and while it doesn't mean that we need to break out 200m for Neymar, it certainly brings home that there are way, way better players within our financial reach, and you gotta go get them, as PSG are doing.
