It’s kind of where I’m at too, nothing will change with these owners, I’ll follow, support and hope that somewhere along the line the twats will stumble into the right decision, because it won’t be by design.
I hate feeling like that tbh. There is just not any excitement watching Man Utd these days :(

United finally making the right managerial choice if it is true. Psg is a circus and even though, he is one of the few top manager that can control that circus, he will have more control here at United. At least he will implement a good system of play similiar to what he did at Spurs and slowly building toward that with psg.

Even though, his record is impressive at psg so far, he is the one manager that can take them to the level that they taught was out of reach. So, I am not sure if psg board will let him go so easily, after recently rewarding him with a new contract

Oh boy I cannot wait to see your reaction if Poch really comes here and fails, since you’ve really gone all in on him:p

I can't help but think that Pochettino's strength is in identifying players and getting the most out of them.

But I think his ability to take a team to the heady heights of success in the CL and PL isn't there.

Sorry if that's an oxymoron!

Rodgers is a good manager but his appointment would be seriously lacking in ambition.

"likely demands for significant spending in the transfer market."

What exactly has Ole been doing the last 3 years?

Just wondering but, wouldn’t someone like Conte feel insulted reading all these leaks/briefs? Way more successful than all the other names mentioned, keen on the job, available, but not deemed a credible successor (to Ole!) due to his “abrasive personality”. How would he feel if the club then went back to offer him the job?

It seems like the Journos who cover Serie A are making a big effort to present a image of Conte to help him get the job. James Horncastle being the latest one.

YUUUURRRRRRRSSSSSS!

I like Ten Hag (a lot) but Rodgers is my no.1 choice from the Premier League (Potter and Frank too inexperienced at this level, just yet). I’d be delighted with that. I think he’d surprise quite a few and would have his detractors convinced within six months. Our football would be beautiful to watch and we’d look like a team coached to eke every last drop of talent we have, something that hasn’t happened at United in almost a decade.

We may not win the league under Rodgers (and guess what, only one of City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. can so that would leave a few clubs disappointed, not just ourselves) but I’d rather give it our best shot playing entertaining, progressive, on-the-front-foot, tactically-flexible football than the dogshite Solskjaer and his coaching team has served up for a long time now. For that reason, I’m very much pro-Rodgers and would welcome him here with open arms.

I have a sneaking suspicion he’d walk to Manchester to get the job, too. Couple that with him feeling he has a point to prove (he’d be a Premier League champion now if he didn’t get so giddy v Chelsea and want to blow them away at Anfield in 2014, which was expertly exposed by a Mourinho masterclass, and not to mention Gerrard’s incredible error), I reckon he’d be an astute appointment as he has matured a lot in the intervening years and added plenty of silverware to his CV. It would be a huge oversight, IMO, if he wasn’t on our shortlist for next permanent manager as I believe City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal etc. will all be eyeing him up when they part ways with their current ones.

United leaking names we cant get now. Just pr bullshit to manipulate the fans to continue supporting Solskjaer for longer. Solskjaer is their guy., their puppit. He is the perfect Glazer manager, and they want to keep him for as long as they can.

No disrespect at all to Rodgers, I've nothing against him. However, if the club were to give him the job over Conte, it would show us exactly what those corporate cnuts intentions really are. Would highlight to me that they want another person that feels lucky to be in the job, as opposed to someone that would come in and demand success.

I'm sorry but choosing Rodgers over Conte would verge on negligence for me. So therefore based off how much failure the club have delivered us so far in this last decade, it's probably true.

Agree with this. Don’t really care that he used to manage Liverpool. He’s done a fantastic job and to have even come close to winning the league with the crap squad he had with Liverpool is a great achievement. Now he’s won the FA Cup with Leicester too.

I’m personally really ok with taking Conte. I don’t think he’s nearly as destructive as Mourinho, and his football while aesthetically not the best is very very competent. (Though I also agree with your concerns about long-term building at the club). I was just thinking that if I were someone of Conte’s stature, I’d be majorly insulted to be publicly deemed a last resort below the likes of Rodgers and Pochettino. And when United finally came calling, I’d be very tempted to publicly snub them…

As for Rodgers, I’m not convinced by him. Good coach but never really seems to get over the line against the other top clubs/managers. His teams also have a tendency to collapse. Recall a Leicester fan also saying he’s tactically not that great.

One thing about Rodgers, he'll have no problem dropping Leicester mid-season to come here, unlike some of the other currently-employed options.

Its getting more and more obvious that Ole will not get sacked.

We lost 5-0, its not a 1-0 loss to Burnley or something, we got smashed up by Liverpool at home.

Heads need to role, not just because of 5-0, which can happen on occasions but the manner of defeat was so bad.

Ugh. I'm sure he's a nice manager and all but I can't stand how Rodgers comes across in interviews.

May issue with your post and posts like it is I feel the club have done a number on you in terms of ambition and expectation. A manager being better than Ole, shouldn't be the measuring stick. We should be looking for the best in class.

Saying yourself you doubt we would win a league under him again proves the lowering of expectation. There are of course no certainties but the club should believe 100% that the person they bring in can win the big prizes.

Thats nonsense

He walked out on his "boyhood team" Celtic in February to take the Leicester job. Why is it nonsense to assume he wouldn't do the same for United?

Read the article, thought it was good. It came across to me that Horncastle was just responding to the narrative that Conte plays the same football as Mourinho, and that he leaves clubs in a mess. Fair enough for him to write that because it’s complete nonsense.

I think Conte would be a good appointment mid season because he’s big enough to handle the squad and swing results to get you in the top 4. Theres a risk with Amad and Hannibal with him, though. For what it’s worth I think OGS has already put them at risk by hoarding players.

At the same time, I can definitely see why Ten Hag would be ideal long term. I think waiting for summer means he’d start outside the Champions League though.

Looks like Rodgers is the name being briefed today. He would tick more boxes than Conte but Jesus Christ...

Different liga, and Leicester has been more successfull than United the last 10 years. They are our rival. They would never accept it, and Rogers have to much respect for them to force it trough. Its 100% unrealistic. Dont fall for this PR bullshit United are leaking.

I'd like to hear some insights about Rodgers and how he goes about implementing his style of play. I do remember his Liverpool team was good to watch and if i'm not mistaken they scored over a 100 goals in the league. He was also very young at the time for a Manager and should've won the league with them. It would be interesting to hear thoughts of Leicester fans.

I can't read the article but what did he say was the difference?

In 8 years you’ve had Moyes, LVG, Mourinho and OGS. It begs the question as to why a new manager would make any real difference? Your purchasing policy seems incoherent with a motley crew of ex greats enjoying a last big pay day and poor buys unable to justify the fees paid for them. What talent there is is either lost in the different experiments in lineups or lacks motivation or confidence.

Changing the manager will not necessarily achieve a great improvement but getting rid of players that don’t or can’t perform will.

I’d start with the following - Pogba, Lindelof, Fred, Cavani , Matic, Shaw, Martial, Wan Bissaka and Maguire

Im pretty sure if Ole did a big sht on Sir Alexes head then ran around Old Trafford stark naked insulting the Busby Babes he would still be in a job. Like when Trump said he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and kill someone he wouldn't loose voters. He's got more lives than a cat!

If you’re the manager of Leceister and there are openings for clubs like Man Utd or Barcelona and one of them come calling for you, would you really say no? Knowing that someone else will take the seat otherwise and another opportunity like that will not come calling again?

Would you really stay at Leceister if you have ambitions of winning the big trophies and managing a club with huge history?

For United, 100% mid season. For Barcelona, he might do it. Wake up ffs. We are a laughing stock and a circus. Why would he join us at this time, and why would Leicester (our rival) accept it mid season ?

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring. I can just pick a team and tactic from the matchday thread and we should be good to win the Prem in notime. I'll be the community representative manager.
