His Assistant should be the guy that's with him at Ajax, if they bring in another then I would prefer Rene or RVP, it's been a long long time since Schteeve was at United
Sorry I should have clarified. Yeah I think you’re right about the fans but I meant with the team and everything behind the scenes. He’s going to have to get the dressing room onside asap. Otherwise he’s going to have to act rapidly to get the bad apples out quite fast and build his own team. There will be a couple of seasons or more of mediocrity for sure.I don’t think so. There’s a feeling of resignation among the fanbase that the job on hand is much bigger than it’s been in the last decade despite the considerable investment. Added to that once there are signs of positive football there will be plenty of patience for ETH.
The Hag is our next manger, no ifs or buts anymore. The media in Holland are definite about it.
I think it’s a fantastic appointment, The Hag is a genius up there with Guardiola and Klopp. We’ve finally got ourselves a worthy successor to Sir Fergie.
I know this thread is for ETH but for his assistant, McClaren or Rene, or both….thoughts?
Everything I’ve read said he is bringing the Ajax guy. He wants another with PL/United experience. His Assistant should be the guy that's with him at Ajax, if they bring in another then I would prefer Rene or RVP, it's been a long long time since Schteeve was at United
I disagree, we should have gone for Matt Le Tis. His radical thinking is just what this club needs. Plus with his penalty record, we’ll never lose a Europa League final again…
that could work, until the day you return them anyway.
"Mr Elvis, can you please explain why your Sam Allardyce came back smelling of piss and had a widened exhaust pipe?"
It really adds another fascinating layer. Do you spread your money and go for a cheaper option for longer periods, or do you blow most of your budget on 3/4 months of the crème de La crème and have Barry from accounts manage the team for the rest of it, knowing you bought yourself a cushion.
THere's something so wonderfully awful brilliantly bleak about the wolly with the brolly coming home.
Doesn't matter who we bring in. No manager will sort us out. This will just be more of the same garbage football until we get rid of the snakes in the dressing room.

I think that's overdoing it.Would love McClaren back as assistant and Rene as coach, even Van Persie as coach also
hope they took the £5 insurance optionthat could work, until the day you return them anyway.

I love this place, so much talk of nepotism, old boys club, too much sentiment, as soon as an old name pops up we're all like "I'd love him to come back"I endorse the appointment of McClaren if that indeed happens. That’s a fairly solid pick in my opinion all things considering.
Not necessarily. He may have come up with Donny's name when Ajax were strapped for cash post-Covid and Edwin asked which of his squad he would miss the least. In terms of Ten Hag, it seems like the club have suprised us all and got something done very nicely and early enough for him to start working in the background with regards to playing additions in the summer.
As a minimum you'd think he'd be saying "don't sell Van Beek" until he's had a chance to work with him etc.
Well we need at least 3 coaches to come in with Ten Hag, we lost that many with Solskajer going.I think that's overdoing it.
I think we only need an assistant that know the club and PL, and good communication with ETH. He still needs his personal staffs who know his routine to get thing done. Can't expect a whole new coaching team to get to know each other, and the players.
Not impressed with Rene. For a Dutch, he doesn't seem to subscribe to total football philosophy, let alone the more modern version. He's not a desirable coach now outside of inexperienced Ole's set up. He's not with the club for too long, and he's not based in England. I don't see him any better to connect with the players now than Mike Phelan.
I see a lot of this sort of mad revisionism that Jose was right about Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Shaw.
But the truth is that it would have been horrific to sell any of those at the time, and let Jose saddle us with the 29/30 year olds he was linked with for huge money.
I don't recall Jose having issues with Rashford, who in those days bore no resemblance to the shell of a player we're seeing now.I see a lot of this sort of mad revisionism that Jose was right about Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Shaw.

Fair!Corrected
We could have got good money for those at the time, they still had 'potential', now we're stuck with them. Most of players Jose wanted went on to big clubs and have won stuff, ours are on loan and doing shit or leaving on a free. There's not much to revise really, Jose was right.I see a lot of this sort of mad revisionism that Jose was right about Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Shaw.

I read that he likes having two playmaking CM’s
Wonder what he’ll make of McFred
Not his biggest fan, far from it, but wish him well.
That’s how I feel too, it’s not that I dislike him as such but I think we already know where he can take us, and that’s to solidify us as top 4 challengers. I want us to take a chance and try something new
I’m surprised we’ve not been quoted as “preparing a bid” yet.The two top candidates are still in a job and we only started the process a few weeks ago. We might as well take some time and make sure we make the right appointment.
