Imagine signing Rodgers when ETH is up for coming in the summer. Like buying Kevin Nolan in January instead of Sneijder in the summer. Mental. I don't even mind Rodgers, but given we've had requited feelers with ETH and Poch, why would you go this route.

I think the story originates from Neil Custis in the Sun which is a bit worrying as he was the first to say Ole was sacked.
Yes, it's quite worrying. Imagine paying Leicester 8 million in compensation for a manager they'd likely sack anyway. Only at United.

Well let's hope it's rubbish.

Oh lord, we are contacting Brendan Rodgers. Oh lord.

Please, lord, deliver me Poch if that is true. I have sinned and did not know it.

Custis took a professional gamble and it paid off. He has no inside track. When the odds were about 1/20 that he would be sacked after a 4-1 loss to Watford, it’s no surprise he rolled the dice.

Someone made a mistake in one of his Football Manager 2007 saves.

This feels like Pochettinos job to lose, even Tuchel said it’s miserable coaching psg and Poch has long had admirers at the board level.

I would usually agree but he mentioned the 7.5 million payoff in the same article, something that wasn't mentioned until Castles himself mentioned it later on.

Wasn't Custis also hired to act as Woodward's personal PR guy in addition to his Sun job or am I mistaking him for someone else? So then he has the best inside track of all of them.

Surprisingly it seems like papers are throwing out every possibility with a clickbait headline, I wonder why.

We've been linked to every manager under the sun at the moment, it's a licence to print money for the papers.

If we're waiting until the summer then it has to be either Poch or ETH. I really hope it's the latter.

According to all other reports, the meeting was still ongoing for another two hours after Custis claimed the decision was made. They then decided to leave it until the following day to make a decision.

As for the payoff Solskjaer had 3 years left on his contract at £7.5m a year. It doesn’t take a psychic to wonder where the £7.5m payoff was plucked from.

Ajax just smashed some team 5 nil.
Their wage budget is bigger than 15 teams combined in the Dutch league, in an 18 team league.

The biggest wage budget behind them, at £32m is PSV on £20m and Feyenoord on £11m.

The rest are £1.5m to £5m, so they should be “some team” by a country mile, akin to PSG levels of financial disparity in the league.

That can't be true. 4 hours before was when the match started  the meeting was supposed to be at 7pm, think you've got a bit mixed up somewhere.
4 hours before Castles broke the news of him being sacked.

Custis released that article saying Ole has been sacked 4 hours before Castles said he's been sacked.

I am on board with the club's targets. I would say Ten Hag and Pochettino really stand out as men that are potential United managers in so many aspects.

I don't think Pochettino and PSG was ever a match made in heaven. I get the impression he would love to come back to the PL with a historic side with greater resources due to the way Spurs soured. There's unfinished business. In the PL he has shown he can make teams perform beyond the sum of their parts, he has played pressing football, he handles himself brilliantly.

Ten Hag is a real upcomer in a way that we've not really tried since Ferguson retired. It's a big gamble of course because Ajax to Man Utd is a different world but if it paid off he seems like he has the potential to become brilliant and that's exciting.

The rest really don't excite me for many reasons. Rodgers not really at the level, ZZ I question his commitment, Potter probably a few seasons off being ready, Mancini does not feel right at all.

Should we compare watfords wage budget ?

Poch and Bodger. Eurgh. Guess we’re not winning anything for the foreseeable.

Right, I checked that too. But Custis is likely in the loop of some of this, no? Considering he wrote a Woodward fluff piece in the Sun likely at the behest of Ashton's PR firm before?
