Ten Hag would also likely fail long term, because there's no structure in place at the club. What the feck do we do about that bit?

There was no structure in place for Klopp at Liverpool either. He's done alright.

He's a risk and by no means a sure bet, but I'd like us to at least give a manager of his archetype a go instead of settling on has-beens and ex players.

I am certain it’s Poch, because the club can’t look beyond the end of its nose - will he be a success? It’s 50/50 for me. Hard to imagine him winning a CL/PL.

Oh I'm absolutely in the appoint Ten Hag camp.

The structure at the club seems quite bad, right from the youth levels to senior level coaches. I don't know how we're going to sort out that shit

I can't believe we supposedly favour potchettino over ten hag. I won't lie the fact that ten hag was on the coaching staff at bayern under pep is a big reason why I hope he comes to united because he has shown he is no pretender unlike arteta who has benefited reputation wise of having coached under pep but has shown no substance to doing so.

Fergie's mate Poch surely the favourite.

(The "article" is five hours old and likely been covered in here during that time.)

The quicker we make Poch manager the quicker he will.fail and our board will get over their love for him.

Never thought of it like that before. That's actually a good point. Yeah, let's get Poch in, give him a 12-month deal, watch him fail, get him out of the Caf's system and move on to the real targets.

I think Utd need a “yes” from their permanent manger to be, before they hire an interim manager so he can slowly start putting things in place. Need to work backwards on this one.

I can only see an ex Utd player with management experience agreeing for this role.

The ones that are out there and available are, Hughes, Bruce, Ince, Keane. Not sure what Blanc is doing. He would be my choice, but can’t see him leaving his current role for a 6 month contract.

One of Lewandowski's greatest strengths is his uncanny ability to find himself in the right place at the right time. Of his 183 Bundesliga goals, no fewer than 171 have been scored from inside the penalty area, including 27 of his 29 strikes in 2017/18

I guess we will see.

My dream scenario is:

Tchouameni in January.
Ten Hag in June.
Frenkie de Jong in June.

I’ve been wondering this myself today: we have two managerial hunts now ongoing (interim and permanent) and one is arguably as important as the other with how delicately-poised our season currently is. So, where do they start? Sort the permanent one first so their interim choice can be a smooth succession (like you suggest) or do they hire the best available interim now - no matter their footballing philosophy - just to steer the ship steadily for 6-8 months and then the new man take over in the summer?

It’s a hell of a conundrum to be honest and one very easy to get spectacularly wrong.

There is a guy on twitter who is putting his head on the line by saying Zidane has agreed to join us.
Not sure how reliable he is, but if you want to check it out his Twitter is @realsavanti

There's been a disappointing lack of news today.

At the very least I want to hear something concrete on whether Zidane has made his final decision to turn us down, or whether that possibility is still alive. You have to give Castles the benefit of the doubt since he broke the news of the board meeting and sacking, if he says Zidane is first choice he's probably right.

Ten Hag over Pochettino. Yes, Pochettino would be a solid acquisition if he’s the best we can do, but Ten Hag is on a different level.

Romano only two mins late in copying that tweet.

Can we just stop posting his tweets when we surely all know by know he's a fraud
Feel free to ignore them if you want

It feels like it does with Jose with Poch.
That it's something we have to get out of our system.

"Manchester United's efforts regarding 'Project-Zizou' included phone calls from several MUFC-legends including Sir Alex, who labeled Zizou 'The Needed One'. Zizou was very impressed by United's charming persuasiveness. Zizou said 'Oui' to Manchester United."

Who is this guy from Colombia?

Just read an article with "Bruce to be caretaker manager"

Read it, and it was Sol Campbell suggesting him! Talk about clickbait.

This savanti guy seems to be dining out on a Jan tweet saying Ronaldo chances at coming back were high.

Please be Ten Hag.

It’s gonna be Mickey Carrick, isn’t it? Wins a couple of matches, gets it until the end of the season, and then for life.

Desperately hope it's Ten Hag too. Seems for me to be the only one who could feasibly compete with the other managers in the league, and is great for squad building.

Just seems way too versatile as a manager to let slip out of our grasp, and his system (bar centre midfield, which could be addressed before his arrival) just works for where we currently are.

He distanced himself when Barca job was available.

Seems like he is interested. He did join Ajax mid season so its not something that cant happen

Of the main names mention as long as it isn't Rogers I'm OK with it. I'm sure the board are happy now that they know what I think.

ETH certainly did not pour cold water on the rumour. I wonder how far along it may be… whether hes hinting for Utd to make contact or actually whether Utd have already talked with him.

If we pick Rodgers instead of Ten Hag when the latter is showing indirect interest, we deserve to be laughed at more so than keeping Ole in the job for the last few weeks.

Seeing Ten Hags interview, you have to go for him. Do what it takes. For once make a footballing decision.
