Truth: This forum is owned by a “foreign fan”.
The reason the club is the biggest in England and one of the biggest in the world is directly due to those 'foreign fans' he seems to abhore as well :rolleyes:

Not surprised he's showing his true face

Ronaldo and Poch/ETH seem to be on a collision course already. No wonder his guy is putting out flares for Zidane and Enrique.

They will say no press no play. They have no other option.
Ronaldo is less likely to get you goals than rashford and co?
You are too young to remember Muller and romario and the other ronaldo and van Bastian and van nistelrooy?
Messi the pressing they called him in barcelona, Ronaldo's previous success in getting titles and trophies was based on his ability to press, jeez. This years buzzword really got into your head I think.

Carlos Queiroz or a name not mentioned yet but would be perfect as he's out of work and would accept a short-term deal.. "Big Phil" Luíz Felipe Scolari is the one for interim the best CV possible. Currently out of work.

Carlos Queiroz will give this team a tactical defensive masterclass drilling .. he was one of the main reasons United won the CL in 08. His defensive organisation is exactly what this team needs right now. Him and Rene Maulensteen together would boss it.

yes CQ is currently manager of Egypt but they have already qualified for the World Cup.. so can do both jobs until the end of the season

if not "Big Phil" Luíz Felipe Scolari would be ideal his CV is the best out of the options and he's out of work.. plus he would take the job on a short-term deal as he's 72. Will take no crap with Maguire and Shaw.

It's like saying if a Manchester lad was born in Newcastle then he'd be a magpie.

Silly argument. I'm 36 live in Northern Ireland and I know many United fans that are in their 50s and 60s. How come they don't support Liverpool who where the dominant force in the 70s and 80s?

It's okay - he's clearly a better fan than the rest of us mere mortals. He's the real fan. Everyone else is a plastic fan. We should just accept that we're not worthy and know our place. Christ almighty.

Still GOATier for me. His style is perfectly suited to our current squad and he's at the right stage in his career to make a big step. Winning Ligue 1 with Lille - and how they did it - was a bigger achievement than anything Ten Hag, Rodgers et al have managed.

He should also bring Gouiri with him who's just scored two goals in 5 minutes, including this banger. Crazy that he's not talked about alongside this generation's big forward talents... because he's right at up there.

I remember very well but Ronaldo is now too old to press and Madrid never played a high press anyway. You either have players to fit your system or you do it the Ole way and have no system worth a damn but lots of talented individuals. And that latter way is now completely discredited. So don't imagine you can bring in ETH and sabotage him from day 1. You'll get the same reply that Klopp gave.

I used to work with a Manc who supported Liverpool, never got my head around that. All his family supported United, but he was fully into their epic early 80’s team that won everything. Imagine the shame his parents felt :nono:

You are assuming that pressing is the answer and the only way to play. As a football fan I am sure you are aware of other successful tactics.
The light in your tunnel is getting dimmer I am afraid to say.

It's 2021, not 2009.

Truth got you there didn't it.

No real issue with foreign fans per say but when they say appoint former PL winning coach who managed Man City they deserve the stick. The guy they still sing about at City isn't going to take the Utd job in a million years.

Americans don't seem to get the rivalry thing very well as players and managers in American sport don't seem to care about team colours as much.

The only reason Rodgers is a possibility (not that I want him) is because he ultimately failed at Liverpool. Had he succeeded he'd never consider the job either nor would we

Oh ho look at me I'm a top red I didn't cheer ex Liverpool player Michael Owen scoring for us!

Give me a break. At the pro level you hire the best manager. City doesn't have a Wenger or Ferguson level of "club" manager.

i know its interim, but these guys are old. Theres no way these guys will have the energy to manage two games a week. They are going to be taking naps on the bench. It will be no different if Carrick, McKenna, or Fletcher coached.

Yeah there are other ways of playing but not if you appoint Poch or ETH. That's how they play. So if we want Poch, it brings us back to the Ronaldo problem. Sticking your head in the sand won't make it go away.

They will say no press no play. They have no other option. You can't play a system and then disable it.

why are people trying to make it seem like Ronaldo is the problem in this team and not talking about a new manager dropping Maguire, Bruno and Shaw who have played worse this season why do they get a clean slate under a new manager and not Ronaldo? Agenda driven.. United played bad last season too.. I'm really angry some fans are making Ronaldo the scapegoat..

Ronaldo needs a manager to build the team around yes. If you don't do that you should let him leave yes.. He's never pressed that's why you build the team around him to compensate like Fergie did. I don't want the GOAT to leave but some people seem to have an agenda to kick Ronaldo when he's down.. and make the foreigner the scapegoat again.. it's xenophobic

That's the biggest irony with these sort of fans. If you want to be a local little club go support salford city or something.

Originally I voted for Conte, a proved winner at top level who has showed no signs of being past it (unlike Mourinho when he joined us).

Since our board for some reason didn't want him, I changed the vote to Erik Ten Hag. Obviously, I'd rather have Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, and probably Luis Enrique and Zidane as well, but those are not realistic targets.

It's easy/lazy to point fingers at him. It's as if pre Ronaldo we were this amazing cohesive unit with our #9 scoring for fun right.

It’s going to be someone who’s currently jobless to replace Carrick. We’ll try and get Ten Hagg/Poch in summer I imagine.

I can’t think of a single established manager/coach who’s jobless at the moment, other than Zidane.
Can anyone make a list?

Favre, Rangnick, Heynckes

I'm not saying that at all. The current losing streak has little to do with him. I'm saying his style of play won't ever work in a high press team that ETH or Poch would want to build. That's also true of some others (de Gea, Pogba) but Ronaldo is the most glaring example so it's worth framing it around him.

I would choose ETH over Ronaldo every time.

Ronaldo is not the main problem but he is a problem. He doesn’t press at all. Bruno’s form has gone to shit now he’s not the main man.
the whole team seem intimidated. What’s going on behind the scenes?

Been saying for a long time that the board should go as well. Most people, when their red-tinted glasses came off, knew Ole was totally the wrong man for the job. they have got it wrong time and again and gone on telling us that they were right. now they don't even know who to turn to... I mean, Carrick? what the fecking hell? and then an interim... heaven help us

There is a malaise at the heart of the club. We need a proper successor to Woodward not some internal (VdS, if you ask me) and we need a proper director of football. Until then, we will go on copying Liverpool from the Nineties

Mate real madrid, barcelona, milan, dortmund,Bayern, psg do not have pressing strikers. We have a player who has literally scored more goals than anyone on the planet.
Feed the goat.

but maybe Ole never asked Ronny to press or showed him how? Why do the likes of Maguire, Shaw, Pogba etc all get clean slates under a new manager but not Ronaldo just because of his age? Maybe under a new manager who has tactics the players understand will follow them? I mean apart from Bruno occasionally none of our forward players pressed.. even young ones like Greenwood and Rashford only did it occasionally and half-heartedly.. you need to press as a team, a unit as a group which United never did even last season without Ronaldo.

Why do they have to be jobless. Players are rarely jobless when you employ them, right.

Right now, (and I know how mad this sounds and would never happen. but right now, I take as interim manager.... Arsene Wenger!

Tbf, you just posted "Ronaldo" as the reason to this season's collapse in another thread. Maybe just tongue in cheek?

I'm sure a good manager would be able to have us playing well with Ronaldo in the team.

it would help of we played him where he's best - wide not down the middle. wide with Edi up front

Jesus haven't heard these names in a while.
I genuinely thought Scolari was dead

Who is the striker at Bayern that doesn't press? Lewandowski? He does.
