Next Man Utd Manager Expected To Be Jose Mourinho Or David Moyes

Some good quotes in here. Can anybody honestly say that Mourinho's next job in England isn't going to be a long term one? Take your heads out of the sand for just a moment.....

He's the most obvious candidate by far. I don't understand why people are worried about length of stay. SAF is the exception not the rule. Most managerial cycles around Europe is 3-4 years anyway. And Jose wins wherever he goes.

We'll make a big mistake if we pass him up when Fergie retires and he's available. Heaven forbid he goes to Liverpool. :nervous:

I personally haven't seen anyone post any pro-Moyes stuff but anyone with half a brain would prefer Mourinho as next United manager, surely?

I personally can't stand Moyes.

if we are going to go jock, owen fecking coyle sets up prettier and more expansive football than some of the shite moyes puts out. and that's a fecking bolton.

Moyes is the favourite here though. Glazers wont pay for mourinho and perhaps the likes of charlton don't want him at united.

He's like a boy who's just discovered the birds at the pub make him feel good. So he brings a new one home every night until he's had his fair share and is now looking for s wife.

With Real, Jose has won everything worth winning - each of the top 3 leagues and his home country's league, titles in all of them. The only step from that is to settle down and build a dynasty.

Jose is the horny boy and United is his wife.

spot on

Barcelona boss Guardiola insists he wants Man Utd job

Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is keen on working with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United rather than taking the Chelsea job as has been reported.

The former midfield star’s three-year contract with Barcelona finishes at the end of the season and reports suggest that he wants to move into coaching in England by joining Fergie at Old Trafford.

A Barcelona source told MirrorFootball: "It seems that Pep really would be keen on working with Sir Alex, if that was possible. It would allow him to come to terms with England under the guidance of the best."

Guardiola has been heavily linked with the top job at Chelsea for when Carlo Ancelotti leaves but news has emerged indicating he would love to step into the role with United and wants Ferguson to stay on as a mentor.

sorry if posted elsewhere.

Maybe it'll be like a manager exchange - Fergie gets to fulfil his dream, and Guardiola gets to manage O'Shea.

Football | Barclays Premier League | Guardiola keen on Man United job | ESPNSTAR.com

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is ready to snub the advances of Chelsea to take up the hotseat at Manchester United.

The Spanish coach has been continually linked to replace under-fire Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge following a poor run of results that saw the Blues drop to second-place in the Barclays Premier League.

Owner Roman Abramovich is said to be the mastermind of former assistant manager Ray Wilkin's shock departure and the soon-leaving sporting director Frank Arnesen - in order to pave way for Guardiola to take charge of his club.

But according to the Daily Mirror, Guardiola, who just led his side to a 5-0 victory over Real Madrid on Monday, is not interested in a move to the English capital - instead he has entertained the idea of taking over Sir Alex Ferguson should he calls it a day at Old Trafford.

The report also claim that the 39-year-old's agent Josep Maria Orobitg has been approached by a number of top clubs, one of which is Chelsea.

However, Guardiola could well sign a one-year-old extension at the Camp Nou or even take a year of sabbatical at the end of the season.

But a source quoted in the Daily Mirror claims: "It seems that Pep really would be keen on working with Sir Alex, if that was possible.

"It would allow him to come to terms with England under the guidance of the best."

The problem with that theory is all those other birds thought he'd marry them too. Once a playa...

Why would he leave Barcelona?

He has won everything at Barca. Maybe he is looking for a new challenge. He never really pledged his future to Barca though. He has only been signing one year contract extensions. He is clearly not committed for some reason.

This seems very interesting though. He wants to work WITH Ferguson.

Why not? It's all been on a plate for him there. A true manager would want to test himself.

He played there, managed the youth teams there and is Barca through and through. He might not be tested much at the moment but he will be in the future.

Thats true but at the same time hes Barca through and through, he played for them, came through their academy (i think) and is now managing them. Personally i dont think i would want him at United, sure hes won a lot with Barca and their style is impressive but i just feel its a bit of a risk getting someone with no experience of the PS. Expecially once SAF goes because whoever comes in i feel will be in for a tough time

Does he feck, that is nothing more than the brainchild of a reporter who's pined it on the much-abused "source" protection regulation.

No CL winning manager fecks off to pastures new to be an assistant, only a fecking moron would write such utter drivel.

it could also mean that Fergie moves upstairs (not saying it will happen but just putting it out there in terms of what it would mean when it comes to working with Fergie)

i think he is the kind who would leave Barca (he did it during his playing career) but am not sure if he would come here

then again replacing Sir Alex Ferguson is the biggest job in football (and will be the job of the decade/quarter century). Any manager worth his salt would want to have a go

So has Fergie, still he's here. Guardiola is a local as well, and things are going very well. Why wouldnt he wanna stay with the team that is one of the favourites to win trophies?

We forget that continental clubs' managers do not have any where near the
longevity EPL managers have......rumours have been coming out of Spain for
some time that Guardiola and the Barca borad are not singing from the same
hymn sheet......

expect a nice new fat contract for Pep after this story and last night's spanking of
Real....

Do not want Pep, if Utd ever became as whiny bitchy and gay as Barca last night it would be a tragedy.

That's a novel sentiment - I didn't see the match, but everything else I've read makes out that Barcelona last night epitomised everything any supporter of any other club could possibly want to see fromt their team.

How were they whiny bitchy and gay? I only read that towards the end Ramos & co decided that seeing as the game was gone they would spend the rest of the evening trying to break Messi's legs, which seems a reasonable thing to whine about in my book.

It's not like our current team is all hard-men who won't complain if they are fouled... (yes, I'm looking at you, Nani).

Diving if anybody gets within 2 feet of them, constantly surounding the ref at every given oppertunity, same as they do week in week out, Its like watching 11 nanis, Not for me thanks.

It wasn’t the best performance from the striker Lionel Messi, as he barely showed a contribution in El Clasico match yesterday night. Even though Real Madrid players got crushed by the host, they still did their job pretty well in guarding the Argentinian for not able to make any move.

Not able to fill his score list, Messi tried to save his face by pulling out a poorly dive on Ricardo Carvalho.

It was when Messi got fall after a challenge from Carvalho. The ref didn’t call it as a foul, so Messi got pretty upset. Carvalho was walking away from him and tell him to stand up quickly, when Messi approached Carvalho from behind. Carvalho then swing his hand in order to try to ignore Messi’s protest, slightly…repeated….slightly. Then Messi’s face touched Carvalho’s elbow, and Messi saw this as an opportunity to gain advantage, and after a second, he fall.

Luckily, the ref was clever enough to see that Messi wasn’t going anywhere with the act, and instead of giving a yellow on Carvalho, he booked Messi for provoking. Too bad the video of the incident has been removed by the user, so we can’t show it here.

Lionel Messi's Poor Dive on Carvalho's Elbow | Lionel Messi

One example.

How very odd that such a daming review of Messi's performance appears on a site called lionelmessifan.com, given that others thought stuff like:

BBC:
Messi shines as Barca thrash Real
Lionel Messi's superb display handed Real Madrid their first competitive defeat of the season and sent Barcelona top of the table after a 5-0 victory.

Sid Lowe in the Guardian:
And then there was Leo Messi. He didn't score for the first time in 10 games. Or do one of those runs. But he gave two perfect assists and laid bare the fallacy that Ronaldo is a more "complete" player, by doing the thing often missed amidst the goals and the dribbles: controlling the game. Again.

Sky:
Messi, meanwhile, was at his magnificent best, skipping away from challenges with ease and threatening to add to Barca's lead with a couple of long-range strikes.

Did that reporter not see Messi's two assists?

Exactly.

It's this sentence:

It wasn’t the best performance from the striker Lionel Messi, as he barely showed a contribution in El Clasico match yesterday night.

which proves that's a load of old bollox, posted by some broken-hearted Madrid (and/or Ronaldo) fan.

"Barely showed a contribution"? Ffs.

What is it with Mess/Ronaldo and Madrid/Barca that seems to spur so many people to talk such unmitigated nonsense. It's like some sort of fecked up parallel universe where events on the pitch are completely irrelevant to the topic being discussed. Total madness.

As I say the odd thing is it's lionelmessifan.com!::wenger:

Either a Madrid fan has gone out of his way to register the domain as some kind of fake site, or more likely it is some brain-dead Messi fan-boy who is unable to judge his performances on anything other than whether he manages to "fill his score list" () and gets all upset and petulant if he doesn't.

Except they didn't. He never hid the fact he hated Italy and was only there to fill his trophy haul. He hasn't made any secret of the fact that, although he likes Madrid more than his time in Italy, he will eventually leave them to come 'home' to England.

Chelsea are the only ones who may have thought he'd 'marry them'. But when your father-in-law continually interferes in your business and spends your money on things you didn't want, it's never going to work in the long-term.
