 Aye, I'm in too.

The plan is back on

I'm total confused with what we're supposed to be doing.

Pick a World Cup and then pick 1 player from that World Cup.. Then form a chain for each subsequent World Cup

So for example you start with 1966 and you pick player X, your next pick has to be from 1970 World Cup and so on.

That's simple enough. :D

Yeah. The additional rules are

- Maximum of 6 players from one continent
- Maximum of 7 WC winners
- Maximum of 1 players from a single world cup

Additionally you are allowed 1 or 2 (not yet decided) breaks in chain. I.e. you can skip from 1970 to 1998 if you want without penalty. That’s what we are discussing on how many breaks (if any) should be allowed

How about you have to pick two in a row where the World Cup year ends on the same number? So your picks could look like

Player 1 from 1930 World Cup
Player 2 from 1990 World Cup
Player 3 from 2014 World Cup
Player 4 from 1954 World Cup
Player 5 from 1970 World Cup
Player 6 from 2010 World Cup
Player 7 from 2006 World Cup
Player 8 from 1986 World Cup
Player 9 from 1934 World Cup
Player 10 from 1994 World Cup
Player 11 from 2002 World Cup
Player 12 from 1982 World Cup
Player 13 from 1998 World Cup
Player 14 from 1978 World Cup

Keeps it unpredictable, forces strategy.

And we should add a rule stating all matches should be scheduled within x working days.

7 for R1
5 for all other rounds

Keeps it crisp. Delays in later rounds when most managers are already out and few drafts to even comment on is just boring.

WC All Stars Draft

Preliminary rules

Eligible players
- Any player who appeared on the pitch in minimum of 3 world cup matches.

Restrictions for first 11 on the pitch

- Maximum of 6 players from one continent
- Maximum of 7 WC winners
- Maximum of 1 players from a single world cup

Picking rules

- The picks from individual managers have to be in chain style jumping from one WC edition to another.
Example :

- A manager can break the chain a maximum of 1 or 2 times. (Yet to be decided)
Example:

- A manager can trade more breaks for their first picked players. For example for buying first break, return your first picked player who will be blocked for the draft from then on. For second additional break return second picked player.

- Number of breaks used by a manager will be used as a tie breaker in case of a draw, if one manager has used more than the other. If both have used the same number of breaks then the one with less time recorded while picking players would be the winner.
How many players in a team?

 come on lads, let's just give it some more time.

I can't wait for the next one...but would be a shame to drop this midway due to lack of interest.

Surely we can get a picking order though so we can start to plan?

I've set up a conversation with @Mani just waiting to hear back from him.

If he doesn't reply @prath92 then you could be my AM.

Do whatever, no skin off my nose, honest.

Personally, regurgitating players that we never saw and played before we were born is not my cup of char but takes all sorts?
Nah.. Would complete the draft.. Personally it was a very good draft for learning about some players.. It’s sad that some really good players are never picked in all time drafts
