Next 7 league fixtures - acceptable points total?

No ‘acceptable’ points total. No entitled bullshit. Just some ground work, some growth, some foundations laid for the future

Reasonable to expect 13 points from those games. Would settle for competing well in the Arsenal, Liverpool and City games, don't expect many points from them - maybe 1 or 3. The other four games are all very winnable.

I'll take whichever point total comes with the players learning the system the most, even if that's zero points.

Arsenal (A) D
Forest (H) W
City (A) L
Bournemouth (H) W
Wolves (A) W
Newcastle (H) W
Liverpool (A) L

I’d say 11-13 if we only draw one of the games I’ve highlighted as a win. Can’t see City still being the way they are when we face them

You'd hope we can beat Wolves away and probably get a draw in one of the games against the top teams. I just don't see it as realistic that we'll be in a position to really fancy beating them. As mentioned, even Forest, Bournemouth, and Newcastle will be extremely difficult to beat at Old Trafford. But even in a position where we have injuries, suspensions, and lack of training ground work with all the changes... We should be able to target 13~ or so points.

Standards have lowered, this is a different Manchester United if somehow people haven't noticed. I think 13 would be acceptable and a good target to aim for. I don't think we are playing amazing football and they'll be timed in all of those games where we look a distinct second best IMO. It's about having character and confidence to play.

Basically, I still wouldn't be surprised if we lost 3-4 of those games, or even went undefeated with a few too many draws. It feels like we are massively up against it going into the Arsenal game. If we can come away without losing there, it would be a huge confidence boost that could have a knock on effect. But I think Amorim sees what we see and is honest about it. This team is still on a knife edge in terms of getting a drubbing.

The only fixture we should definitely win is Wolves tbh. I expect we will beat Forest and Newcastle. I think Bournemouth will be tough. Their style could be difficult for our defence to deal with. I'd expect losses to Arsenal, City and Liverpool. I think between 6-12 points realistically.

As Amorim said, storms will come. Let's focus on the performance rather than results. The team is still learning the new style of play and will be very inconsistent. It could be anything from 6-21 points.

Realistically: any thing above 11 is great.

Arsenal (A) - 1
Forest (H) - 3
City (A) - 0
Bournemouth (H) - 1
Wolves (A) - 3
Newcastle (H) - 3
Liverpool (A) - 0

With the loss at Arsenal, there’s only 18 points left on the table from the 7 PL game run being discussed.
Anything more than 10 points from those 6 remaining games will be a plus.

When you look at the other teams around us and their upcoming fixtures, it’ll be very hard to pull away from mid table, unless we can exceed expectations and pull off a couple of “shock” away results.
That doesn’t look likely at this point in time, but we can live in hope.

Predictions

Arsenal (A) - was predicitng a loss (went 2-1 Arsenal on the caf matchday thingy)
Forest (H) W
City (A) L
Bournemouth (H) W
Wolves (A) D
Newcastle (H) W
Liverpool (A) L

Perhaps the Newcastle/Wolves results the other way around but I'd have gone 10 points. Anything above that welcome. Below that not so great but 9 not such a drama, 8 dodgy. 7 or less wouldn't be happy.

Realistically, +/-10 points. We have more chance to qualify for CL via EL route.

0 from 6, so far. Surely we lose to City and Liverpool away, so basically how many points will we get from Bournemouth (H), Wolves (A), and Newcastle (H)? Could be 4, could be 7, could be 1. Not looking like a great total from the 21 on offer, especially when we needed to go on a run before this run of fixtures due to our appalling start to the league campaign.

I’d just like to confirm we’re f**ked for the next month and a half.

Whatever the results between now and Xmas, from looking at the fixtures for the teams below us, it looks like we’re safe in 13th spot in the table.
By new year and before the Liverpool game, half the season will have gone.
Before that Liverpool game, the best place we can realistically achieve is 11th, but more likely we’ll be stuck in 13th place.

Its going to take a monumental change of fortune and results to drag ourselves out of the bottom half of the the table.

.

Ah it doesn't really matter. We're not qualifying for European football and we're not getting relegated. Enjoy the ride

Oh lord, its going to get really ugly isnt it

Realistically. 4 points. Draw to Wolves, win against Bournemouth and Lose every other game.

Arsenal (A)
Forest (H)
City (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Wolves (A)
Newcastle (H)
Liverpool (A)

Brutal run, in fairness. Even the “easy” ones have banana skin written all over them.

I’d be happy enough with 10+ points, assuming performances are decent.
Considering that we have a defense which is just as tough as a wet sponge floating in lukewarm horsepiss i expect 4 points as a maximum. Apart from Wolves, i don't see any team here which we could beat in our current form with the current tactics.

6pts tops out of the next few games another 2 defeats as well . 9th or 10th finish at best and if I'm Amorin I'd target the Europa league big time. Just leave the league run it's course finish were we finish.

Realistically. 4 points. Draw to Wolves, win against Bournemouth and Lose every other game.
Lost to Bournemouth 3-0 last season. They're not any worse this year and we're not any better. Draw would be nice. Wolves away could be better chance to win a game.

City (A) - loss
Bournemouth (H) - loss
Wolves (A) - win
Newcastle (H) - draw
Liverpool (A) - loss
Southampton (H) - win

6 points from the next 6 would be my guess.

Realistically. 4 points. Draw to Wolves, win against Bournemouth and Lose every other game.
Bournemouth are one of the best pressing teams in the league and we're one of the least press-resistant teams in the league. Much better chance of three points against Wolves.
