New Zealand vs England

Ambrose lloked completely out of depth against the swinging new ball this morning,
Good ol' England.

Don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but I love Jimmy

New Zealand have avoided the follow on

Which tells you England are well on top. Not often I get to make a statement like that regarding an English opponent!

Ooooh, Jimmy Jimmy, he went to Wellington and he bowled the lot

Can I just say:

Anderson son son
he's better than Harmison
Anderson son son
our swing-bowling magician

he bats left he bowls right
to the Burnley beat tonight
he gets merry with a cherry
and he shits on Vettori

Great suff from England today!
Need to bat all day tonight, and then we'll be sorted.
Pleased for Jimmy, Lancashire la la la.

Has he actually played at any level since the Ashes?

Made a couple of comebacks for Glamorgan. mostly bowling for half a run-up.
But suffered more set backs.
Doubt we'll ver see him on the international stage again.

unfortunately i think you are right, an absolute shadow of his former self and i find it painful to watch him hobble towards the crease from a 8 yard run up. such a superb bowler to have as 4th choice after throwing the ball to flintoff, after the two openers.

he could get the old ball to talk too, would be valuable now, especially with flintoff out so often, we only really look like taking wickets with the new ball on decent, flat tracks. having him on to bowl after 65-70 overs would be great, at the minute we have to bowl collingwood (who is not a bad bowler but not in jones' class) instead to fill in gaps until the new ball.

England 250 ahead at lunch, frankly that might already be enough. 9 wickets in hand, bat another session and the best part of the final session, gaining another 150 setting a target of 400, then put them in. Bit of rain forecast tomorrow, want to make absolutely sure they can't bat a draw out

The weather looking set to change tomorrow, things are going our way at the moment.

Barmy Army in good voice too, great stuff!

Pieterson out in the unluckiest circumstances possible, run out not on strike by a deflected Bell drive.

I want to hit Bell incidently. No sooner was Kevin dismissed that Bell lobbed a skyer up to Gillespie, who conspired to bugger it up and push it to the boundary for four. As I type he's just been dropped again, what a bloody idiot this lad is. Just play sensibly for crying out loud

Bell

Collingwood doesn't play gittish shots like that at a time England just need to settle and not lose another wicket

He survivied though, it would be nice for once for an England player to cash in royally on such a gift of redemption

Ah it was my commentator that got it wrong, i'm watchin it on a feed so its not SS quality...

Although I have now turned off the sound in favour for the F1 on TV...

Finished up 277-9. Collingwood getting out at the end after a good knock.
420 ahead should be good enough for a win, although Jimmy left the griund on crutches after a game of Football.
I think Monty came in with studs up?
