New Zealand vs England

We don't deserve a draw to be honest, it would just paper over the cracks anyhow.

No offence kiwi fan, but we've made a poor side look good. Pretty embarrassing considering the talent out there. Too many bowlers haven't got enough overs under there belts, Broad & Anderson should be brought in for Thursday.

Sidebottom Hat trick!

Last one I saw was Dom Cork against the Windies, well I dunno about 12 years ago?

About 30 minutes ago NZ were turning the screw, and England still had a job on to save the game. Suddenly, England are in a potentially winning position if they take a wicket or two more tonight

England 61/7

Agree with bringing in Broad and Anderson.

I was planning a nice quiet morning doing some paperwork whilst watching the cricket. The game will be over well before the paperwork :( , what a load of shite this performance is.

What a load of rubbish. In less than 3 years we have managed to decline to the worst test side of the lot.

Feel for all those supporters out there and in Sri Lanka.
Complete fecking waste of time.
Anderson and Broad in for Hoggy and Harmison please.
Owais deserves a go aswell.

Id stick with Hoggard, but drop Harmison. Let him get back to county cricket for a whole season, and only get picked again if his form allows him to.

This what really pisses me off about england, they'll prob allow flintoff back in after 1 or 2 games for lancs, when he should be playing for them for a few months and performing.

Pick the team on merit. Thats why Sidebottom is back in the team.

Feel sorry for Hoggy. Doubt he's on the same downward trajectory as Harmison. He's been Mr. Dependable for eons...but then he's no spring chicken. Maybe Broad and Anderson should be in asap for the experience.

feck knows what Harmison must be doing in training if he's still getting picked.

Throwing the baby out with the bathwater mate.

Hoggy has been consistantly our best bowler for ages, he's entitled to a dodgy test.

Harmison is just not up to scratch, by all accounts the next pitch is a bit of a road, so he'll get hammered. Either Broad or Anderson in for me, Broad's the future, but Anderson is a match winner if the ball offers any lateral movement (reverse or conventional swing.)

Both were dire and neither has prepared for this test series properly. It's a correct call for me. When will coaches learn not to pick players on name alone?

Quite how the batting line up has remained unscathed beguiles me...

Dont like not having an experienced international bowler in the lineup. Silly to drop Hoggard imo.

Harsh on Hoggard considering his years of consistent service, but then again...

As for the experienced international bowler, for all intents and purposes Sidebottom is performing that role for the team now. Utterly reliable, real good pick all those months back, whoever it was.

Broad can be still somewhat erratic. Hopefully we find him in a good spell, and that he doesn't have to take part in some gallant rearguard action with the bat to save the team.

I want Strauss to do well for England [thought he should've been Captain when it was between him and Freddie], if i support anyone in county cricket it is is Middlesex, but am i the only one who feels that Shah gets a raw deal from the selectors? Yes i know he's Middlesex too but aside from that the point stands i think. lol

I agree with your point about Shah, he has rarely disspointed, and has been treated poorly by the selcetors. Part of a long line of players who have suffered at their hands. Ramprakash, Hick, Read...

England have a class batting line up (I think all of the top 6 average over 40), wholesale changes are not the answer.

You make one mistake as a batsman and you are out. One mistake as a bowler and you have 5 more balls in an over. This is coming from the mouth of an all-rounder, mind! :D

That fact masks the fact that only one batsman seems to be on form at any given time.
We certainly do not score enough centuries.
One player has in our last 4 tests.

No, but to change someone for the sake of it is just plain wrong.

Vaughan is the skipper, Pietersen is a match winner, Cook is young, Bell is just class, Collingwood is consistent, the only question mark is over Strauss - and even he deserves a run.

Oh i agree,
Just pointing out the negatives, as every England fan enjoys to do!
What sort of pitch are we expecting tonight? Heard an interview with Martin earlier this week who suggested it's seamer friendly.

I've heard it's a bit of a road, NZ have left out Patel and brought in Gillespie.

I hope the batsman come out and play there natural games, they're too good to be shackled. I hope we get a response.

Did you hear the Martin interview where he said England were a fair weather team? It was only 2 years ago he was getting smashed to all parts at Lords.

Yes i did. Had a pop at K.P aswell.
Should keep his mouth shut seen as their are two tests to go, and we're perfectly capable of winning both. He's not all that special himself.
It should only serve to encourage England, we could do with playing with pride for the first time in a while. Too many of 'em out there for their average.

54-0 now, starting to motor. Not sure why Vettori put us in.
Cook 28
Vaughan 23

Good session, Oram is bowling well - will have to switch straight back on after lunch.

Let's hope one of these two goes on to get a biggy, hope Strauss gets a few to shut fecking Botham up - the prick. When he was inspecting the wicket he said it was a great wicket to bat on.... yet in the comms box, he says he would have bowled if he won the toss. Him and Willis are cnuts.

This is woeful, Strauss out reaching, and fecking hell someone get hold of Bell and clock him round the head, comes in and first ball tries to hook the bastard thing, narrowly survived being caught out, more athletic fielding attempt and he's gone

Assuming we made it to lunch okay, this was supposed to be a batsman's paradise wasn't it?

*sigh*
