Why not go all out for Alex Sandro, €40-€45m?? How much would it take to get him here? Saw about 11-12 Juve games and he stood out
He's just been there one season and I think it's going to take a bit more than that, considering how good he's been.
Yeah, I'd love for us to go for Guerriro but I think Dortmund will be hard to convince, I still think Bernat could be a great option.

I'm not sure that tactic makes sense for us though, considering that Valencia had 4 assists in 42 starts (and a goal but he was playing RW when Valdes slipped and he tapped it in) this season. We don't have Dani Alves out there. And Valencia has improved defensively. I think we'd be better off with another good 2-way fullback on the left rather than a lopsided affair. For that strategy to be worth it, I think you need a better crosser (Baines, Mendy) or runner in behind (Bellerin, Alba, Maicon) than Valencia.

Think about Jose's full-backs at Chelsea. He just doesn't like them 'short'. Azpilicueta, Filipe Luis, Ivanovic, etc. I'd love to throw that argument out of the window, but I don't think he's actually going to take a second look at players like Bernat and so forth.

Jose had Ashley Cole who is only 5'9 and wasn't Marcelo Jose's LB at Real? He's only half an inch taller than Bernat. I think if the other 3 are all tall he can have one side shorter.
How much did they sign him for?
Marcelo plays in La Liga though. Perhaps I should have been more specific, he likes his full-backs tall in the EPL. I think he draws the line at 175cms. And yes, I genuinely think he wouldn't sign Bernat or Guerreiro, while he's managing a club in the EPL.
Edit: I'd be pleasantly surprised, if I was wrong though.

According to tranfermarkt 22m. But like I said, just one season and they would want to make a profit of him. I don't think he's actually for sale, especially since the market is limited in terms of full-backs.
It's a fair point about the PL, but there isn't a lot of difference between Cole and Bernat in height and it wasn't like Cole was some aerial beast.

Darmian has had 2 good games this season. The lad can't defend without our left winger doing most of the work or attack, he's useless.

Ok maybe not useless but a Manchester United fullback should be able to do more than defend when the bus is parked. He's our weakest link at the moment imo, he gets skinned time after time in open games.

If this Perisic deal goes through then hopefully we use him as an LB, he's a mediocre winger with inconsistent end product, much like Valencia was when he converted to RB at roughly the same age, Perisic is 6'2 so he'll suit Jose's size queen demands at the back and fill a position we need filling.
I certainly hope United are monitoring him and snap him up when the time is right. Really like what I've seen.
