Slow and shit. Dont need a tank in midfield that cant keep the ball once under pressure. Would rather have fosu mensah playing every week rather than matic. Matic looks good because of the players around him that provide him with security and the old trafford pitch will be too big for him to get around

Matic is a very good holding midfielder. He would bring a two time Premier League winners mentality to United too. If (and I know it's a big if) he wants to come why would we not sign him?
He is very very average and we need quality players in that position. We already have Fellaini here if we want to do this sort of thing

Nope,get someone else. Matic for me always looked better as DM in midfield 3 and we wont play like that i think.
I don't find him to be particularly great defensively and he can't run a game like Carrick, he's like a halfway house in between which is not what we need. At least with Fabinho and Dier you'd expect them to be defensively strong and able to complement Pogba.

If he's available it's a no brainer, snap him up. Far superior to the over hyped, over fantasized, flavour of the month monoco player Fabinho. We already have a player who is better than fabinho in every aspect, Herrera.
As I said earlier, I don't see him that bad or else Chelsea wouldn't have won the league with him twice, but there are better choices available in the market. I'll take Fabinho or Dier above him, as they're younger and have higher potential. These should be the priorities.

Experienced, prem proven, won leagues. He'd be a great signing.
He goes missing for Chelsea quite a lot, I didn't see him at all in the FA Cup final for example. There's definitely more effective and talented defensive midfielders that we could buy.
Would rather Fabinho or Dier than one of the bellends who downed tools for Jose in his last season at Chelsea. It's an easy rumour to make up but i'm almost certain there is 0 truth in it.

He'd only be underwhelming because too many people on here have unrealistic expectations for our transfers. In reality he's a good player who would improve our midfield.
As others are saying, would much prefer Fabinho (then Dier second preference) - Matic would feel such an underwhelming "last resort" signing.
I agree he would improve our squad, and probably our first 11 in some games (depends on the tactical approach). He's not at the level we should aspire to, however, which is supported by the fact that Chelsea seem to be looking to upgrade from him.

Fabinho is actually the attacking minded one out of the two between him and Bakayoko at Monaco too. If we get Fabinho, him and Pogba will pobably flank Herrera in a 3.

What happened to him being the best defensive midfielder in the league by far on here. He was overrated then. But now he is not as good as fellaini or TFM and is average. Just always madness both ways on here.
They can't all be hollywood signings. As long as the player is the piece in the puzzle the manager is looking for, that's all that matters.
That midfield pairing with Cesc worked for a while but was never fully convincing.
Fabinho would bring more aggression to midfield then Matic, the goal is to free up Pogba as much as possible to bring out his qualities.
There's a chance we may sign him, because he apparently wants to come and Chelsea may be willing to part with him for the right price due to their targets in other areas.
Our increased chances of making him a United player makes him shit in the eyes of sum I imagine. Penises were almost broke off when we signed Schneiderlin, but Matic isnt good enough apparently.
