Perisic. Another spring chicken.Who is next Ivanovic?
The last quoted price for Fabinho was 35m + 5m in bonuses. I dont think they will go cheaper than that. And even at that price he is cheaper than Matic. As far as competition for Fabinho I dont think there is any.
Or we could sign other, better players with a beter age and still win a title and end up with players that are still useful two years on?
Astonishing idea I know, needs some imagination (maybe more than our current manager possesses), live a little.
PSG wont deal until they sell Verrati. Even then I expect them to go for someone more high profile. Juve are more interested in signing Douglas Costa since they can only sign one more foreign player. City arent linked as much as we have been. There has been scattered rumors with City, Juve, PSG.
£40M for a guy with no resale value? Are we fecking mad? If Mourinho can't be flexible and needs to surround himself with former 'yes men' then can we ask him to pay towards this supposed transfer? It's a crazy amount of money for someone who's surplus to Chelsea's requirements.
So we win a title but get stuck with Matic? Sounds a lot better than finishing 5th, sign me up
The price quoted by Di marzio is 50 million euros. Also personal terms are being negotiated too. So that plays a role also. The last quoted price for Fabinho was 35m + 5m in bonuses. Fix that mess of a post first. And who said I was specifically talking about Fabinho? That Vieira on steroids joke has run its course too, using it twice in the same thread within 15 mins is enough. We know who you are looking down upon that beautifully straight and fully powdered up nose of yours.spend to indulge the present manager.
And who is this better player in Mourinhos system? If Mourinho thought the Monaco Messiah was better than Matic he could sign him easily, he clearly doesnt.
Maybe its the fans who are need some imagination, especially on the subject of "Viera on steroids"
It's like buying a broken down pick-up when a brand new jeep is there for the taking at no extra cost.
It's between two English clubsThe only sources reporting Matic stories are English journalists only. They're probably being briefed by United so won't trust them much.
and when he gets sacked a season or so after winning that title we are left with his old crap to clear out. I want more forward thinking.
It's between two English clubs
If there was rumors of us selling Herrera to Chelsea this place would meltdown. The fact that our resident Chelsea fans are shrugging their shoulders over this should say something.
Why do people keep saying is it your money? What's that got to do with anything? It's my club and I don't want us to waste money on older players. I'm not greatly opposed to Matic, but only for a reasonable amount of money where we won't lose too much. He's getting to almost 29/30 years old - no one knows for sure how well a high level sports person's body will react at that age. It's therefore stupid from a business point of view to spend huge sums on a player that's not even that impressive. No resale value? Jesus. Is it your money? What's wrong with just buying someone to improve the team now? Also, why should we be buying someone with a view to selling them on. Some clubs yes, not Manchester United.
If only we could sign a player who has been key to 2 PL wins in a position of needUnderwhelming.
And to think we thought CL was crucial
Classic cars CAN be more expensive though - old Mustangs and the likes...
Two of his signings last season have not convinced everyone. Mkhitaryan and Zlatan, the latter I disagree with but you'll find opinions firmly split on it here.Ah bore off with this utter shite. Which one of Joses signings didn't work for us last season - and was so utterly terrible that it makes everyone here become the ultimate experts and know he hasn't a feckin clue all of a sudden?
Jose is a man with a very a clear vision of who he wants and what way he wants to set up.
Matic is premier league proven, and would improve us in that midfield 3.
Some of the utter nonsense here is mind boggling. You'd swear we were looking at resigning Bebe.
If you ask anyone who were Chelsea's key players last season - the whole defence, the wing backs, Kante, Hazard, Costa, maybe the odd mention of Pedro and Willian....I doubt anyone would say that Matic was key.If only we could sign a player who has been key to 2 PL wins in a position of need

I wasn't talking classic cars though, I'm talking rusty old pick-up truck with an owner called Festus.

And telling people to bore off when you pull out the golden oldie "premier league prewvun yeahhhh" from your holster mr. billy the kid?
To me Mourinho has not done enough yet for United to earn my unconditional trust. Just like I didn't throw myself in LvG or Moyes' laps just because they became our manager. Mourinho has to show that his last season at Chelsea was an anomaly (and he's had a number of horrific signings who got near to no appearences there during that time, salah, babasomething, cuadrado, and surely a few more).

Sounds festive.
Sounds more like you are talking about buying a crap 1998 Toyota, but is Matic really that crap? A midfield of Pogba, Matic and Fellaini would be absolutely woeful though - the combined turning circle of a shipyard.
